Many blessings to you and all your family. How beautiful to see the transformation and all you've accomplished. If we could put into existence more places like yours we could make a world of difference.
I know in my age I'm overwhelmed and it stops me in my tracks. I wish I had done things different so I could be a part of a community of like minded souls🌱🌻🕉️
Thanks for sharing. There are elements of what you have presented that resonate with me: growing our own food within a community of other human souls, and not participating in the system that has abused and kept humanity prisoner forever rings true to me. Being in a room full of people singing a communal song to a drum beat isn't for me. I like the idea of working with others to create a balanced life surrounded by nature, but having my own peaceful and harmonic space to return to afterwards. :)
Sure - there are many ways that community gathers, and the singing in the earth centre isn't everyones cup of tea. My favourite is jamming around an open fire. Xx
Wonderful. Don't forget solar panels and polytunnels rely on unsustainable polluting industrial mineral extraction and processing. Systems that won't be around for much longer. Living sustainably is as much about re-establishing simple technologies e.g glass making for our greenhouses, wool and leather for our clothing as it is about food growing.
Absolutely. We're on a journey of exploration, and there are often degrees of compromise in our decisions, and so we aim for a middle way, working towards sustainability whilst building up the carrying capacity of the landbase. X
@socloseagain4298 The technological - industrial civilization. There aren't enough mineral resources for rising incomes in the Global South and for a global transition to non-fossil fuel energy systems, so everything will collapse.
We don't have any volunteer opportunities at the moment, but if you go to our website and sign up for the newsletter then you'll hear if something becomes available. Xx
I'd recommend starting with some research as to what's out there - then I'd follow that up with visiting some places. There are many different expressions of people seeking sustainability - so tune into people doing something similar to what you want. If you like our vibe we offer guided tours, an online club or courses - have a look at our website. There are many other folk with similar missions - check out Tipi Valley, the One Planet Council, Diggers and Dreamers. Good luck. Xx
I like the concept, just not the hippy dippy aspects. I like simple, rural, quiet, sustainable living, and I like people who have skills or are learning those skills. Good on you!
Fair enough! People come to this lifestyle for many reasons, and there are many different expressions from people seeking a simple land-based lifestyle. Personally I learnt most of my skills from original hippies living the dream, and as a result I do share much of that ethos. Xx
What are the hippy dippy aspects? As with everything, not all hippies are/were the same. Many of them were all about taking care of the land and not relying on “the system.”
Many blessings to you and all your family. How beautiful to see the transformation and all you've accomplished. If we could put into existence more places like yours we could make a world of difference.
YES! "The first step is daring to believe in it. And the second step is to start dancing the dream awake."
