    Thank you very much, Sir! Could you, please, spell both variations of the name of the kick in Korean for me? I struggle to memorise it without being able to read (visual person), but desperately need to be able to name it properly for my students. Many thanks!

    @DracoCaesar well the side kick is more use for counter or waiting for the attack, this one can be use for a retreating opponent

    Very good approach to split up the motion in single movements, hard to perform at once from begin. Foam material on whole floor? i will wear FlipFlops to also gain that effect!

  • @Sonicss71
    @Sonicss71 12 років тому

    I see where your head is at but technically nay it WTF, because side starts with one leg back and then finishes with it forward, to set up a combo or you pull it back into stance for say a counter. With turn back(side) kick its a more fluid powerful kick. But whatever helps you get the kick, don't stress on the name, different places call it different names..Hope that helps, I've taught and studied TKD (ITF) for years.

    Is this kick more accurate and powerful if you throw it to the body rather than the head?

    AS you explain in another video... this is Turning Side Side kick and not Back kick because the load position is in "side" mode... :)

    deberían guardarse las técnicas para ellos, y si alguien quiere aprender, que se apunte a un gimnasio.
    es mi humilde opinión.

  • @largec

    I have to be honest, the jumping back kick is pretty useless in a actual combat situation. While your in the air, your opponent can simply move out the way and you wont hit anything. But at the end of the day it's all about timing, if you time your moves perfectly you might be able to hit your opponent.

    Cool kick but it annoys me when he does it because its a tutorial video on how to do it right. When he does the kick he doesn't sight the target and doesn't have his hands protecting head and chest.
    He can do it better than me but he's not doing it right

    not exactly the reason martial arts is taught. martial arts are mainly for self defence or defending others not running after someone to kick their ass. please have some respect for the beautiful thing known as martial arts.
