For people who don’t understand, the title ‘gone days’ sounds like the korean slang ggondae which is a person (usually an older person) who gives lectures about their past and what it was like ‘back in there day’. Example, everyone’s had this happen before, you tell a joke to your parent and it ends up turning into a lecture about how what you said was wrong because of their own past experiences. You could said your parent was being a ggondae at that moment. I hope this helped!

I had actually not listened to this song yet (still a baby stay) but I saw a video of the kids saying that this song represented Chan’s personality, and coming to it even now I can 100% see that. If I look at these lyrics and imagine just him saying them I feel like they really do embody his perspective on what he and his members create for the world. They respect the seniors that paved the path before them, but they have new and unique ideas and they don’t want to be told that they can’t do them. And even 4 years later that still applies. I had actually not listened to this song yet (still a baby stay) but I saw a video of the kids saying that this song represented Chan’s personality, and coming to it even now I can 100% see that. If I look at these lyrics and imagine just him saying them I feel like they really do embody his perspective on what he and his members create for the world. They respect the seniors that paved the path before them, but they have new and unique ideas and they don’t want to be told that they can’t do them. And even 4 years later that still applies.

*The song might have started as a diss to older generations but at the latter part of the song they said that “we know that you do it because you care for us” and they’re really thankful for it. For me, Gone Days is a song for specific people, people who keeps on pushing their “old ways” agenda. I can actually relate to this song because I got fed up with my mom’s nag at some point but of course at the end of the day we still love our parents. I also like the part of the song where Felix said “But trust me once, I’ll take responsibility for the future”. I totally agree with you. I also argue with my mum sometimes because she pressures me to study to be a teacher and she doesn't let me explore new paths and ways. What bugs me is that she says that she cares about my future but she won't believe in climate change nor do anything to try and make it better for future generations.
