  • This is a stage from the 1st day of the World Shoot - the Olympics in the handgun shooting discipline. In order to participate in the World Shoot you must be one of the top 4 shooters in your category and country. Then you have earned the right to compete against the best shooters in the world.
This stage is a short course with not a lot of points at stake - only 40 points in paper at the start and 10 points in two plates up front. If you look carefully you will see two very fast moving plates on a track. Here's the trick - if you miss either of the plates when they first come out you are instantly going to lose 15 points because it takes 2 seconds for the plates to come back. You are forced into a 'hero or zero' mode in the last position - no matter how well you shoot the front part of the stage.
This stage was fun despite it being the 3rd stage I shot in the match and butterflies are still impacting my performance. It's an unloaded start and 4 paper targets in hidden positions so it forces you to move a bit. If your stance is not perfect at the last position you will suffer. I was one of the first shooters on this and was happy that I hit both plates on the first showing :)
