Bro.. I'm totally enjoying your videos.. love your , stories, your format, your commentaries... And love how Silly your getting out there on the trails.. Keep up the good Work.. God Bless You and Stay Safe.
Sounds like I need a trip out there. We have some more chunk out here but this loop is a great testing ground for most the bikes I am riding....enough to get you into trouble at the right speed....plus the water isn't helpful lol. Thanks for watching!
Awesome! This bike is really fun and can handle a lot. I am very interested in how this bike will ride with 30mm internal width wheels. I will do that swap and report back in our full ride review of the Ripley AF. Thank you for watching Noah!
I upgraded the bike i got to get it sooner it came early then the weather in texas said no power for 7 days lol everything is trying to keep me from riding.
Nice video! I’m trying to choose between a ripley AF or carbon, SC Tallboy, and Pivot Trail 429. If you have ridden all these which would you pick for your only bike riding trails and climbs like you did in this video? Thanks.
I've only ridden the AF from that list. The AF has slightly more aggressive geometry compared to the carbon Ripley. The AH may be the more composed on the downs of that group but again I haven't ridden the others.....plus the AF is cheaper than the rest. The 429 in the enduro style build looks awesome though. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them.
How is the clearance with 2.6" tires in the Rear? Usually, I go a bit below the Max to be on the safe side. Also, let's just call it a "short-travel 29er", enough with this "Down Country" mumbo jumbo!...LOL.
Side to side looks fine but it is pretty close up against the lower yoke section. I posted a picture on our Instagram page if you want to go check that out Straightline_MTB
My AF came with 2.5 Assegai tires. Way too much tire for my needs. I went with a 2.6 Vittoria Agarro in the rear and a 2.6 Vittoria Mazza up front. The Mazza looks to be wider, but I need to get a tool to accurately measure it. They both fit fine. The agarro is sort of like a beefy recon.
@@lazylearner967 Sounds like a killer tire combo. I have been wanting to try the Agarro and Mazza tires. Running the Butcher and Eliminator on the Ripley AF and it is on the aggressive side but great in the slop.
@@StraightLine_MTB I wanted to try an Agarro 2.35 in the rear, and a 2.6 Agarro up front. But I couldn't find the 2.35 anywhere, so I went with this combo. the 2.35 might looks square-ish on the 35mm tires.
Awesome vídeo! Question, if you could only have one bike, would you stick with some of these DC bikes or would you go for something in the 140/150 range? Considering i like long days on the bike too
Great question. I guess it depends on what trails you are riding and really which bike. The Occam comes in at 140mm but rides like a true trail bike. The Meta TR is 140mm but rides like a bigger bike. If I had to choose 1 bike of all the bikes we have reviewed to be my one bike....I think I would have to go with the Sentinel V2. I hit the bike park in the summer as well as big rides in the Tahoe area where you need to climb up long miles into some chunky fast DH. I would probably be good with the Spur, Izzo, or Ripley AF as well but would have to hold back the speed a bit on the downs.

As an east coast rider it's funny to see what you guys call chunky. That would be a smooth flow trail back here. Love the videos, ride on brother. 🤙🏼

Thanks Ryan. We have some great trails here in Auburn. Let us know if you come up this way and we will show you around.
a few more rides and I'll be installing my dvo topaz on my Ripley AF. The 140mm ribbon coil has been feeling good
Sounds like you've up the game on the Ripley. Nice
The lighter travel bikes seem so capable these days. Nice riding, flying down those trails!
They are pretty awesome. Digging these short travel 29ers

nice Vid enjoyed it Brotha!
thanks amigo!
Very good video, hope you can do a comparison video with the Transition, that will get plenty of views. Cool trail system, where is this at?
We will be comparing the Spur, Izzo, and Ripley AF soon. Trails are in Auburn, CA. Such a great area to ride with plenty of options.
@@StraightLine_MTB Auburn, Jay Wood aka BikeSomm is always telling me about this place. Hope to ride it someday soon.
Love yalls videos keep shredding
Thank you! Only way to survive is to ride 😆
@@StraightLine_MTB facts after the bs power issue in houston i am really thinking about moving or van lifen
@@Devast8r34 Van life sounds great.
Great video! Do you feel the Spur has as much flick ability as the Ripley AF? And which climbs better?
I haven't ridden them back to back yet but early guess would be Spur climbs a bit better as it is lighter. We will be covering the differences soon!
@@StraightLine_MTB thanks! Love your channel.

what size was this? and how tall are you?
