Ultraseven was forced to fly to the sun to recharge his energy after prolonged exposure to the cold before he could fight a monster. In Ultraman Jack, he was frozen and then broken to pieces by a monster. The Ultra Brothers were frozen and then crucified on Planet Golgotha. When Belial stole the Plasma Energy Spark, all the Ultras on the planet were frozen.

It's Hayata's body but Ultraman's concious. Most of the time it's the Ultraman going into action, not a Hayata. That is why Hayata has no memories of him being Ultraman at the end of the series. He only remembered that he crash into something and unconscious. The Hayata we see in the show interacting with other people is actually Ultraman himself doing all that all along. The Real Hayata only appears in episode one until he's dead in the same episode before becoming Ultraman
I've seen a bunch of cutaway diagrams of Ultraman's internal organs and you never mention that he is an alien cyborg, with some sort of metal parts implanted. Makes sense, he probably needs them to help support his mass and to regulate his internal energies.
