Nobu Uematsu is one of the greatest classical composers of our time. People who argue that video games can't be art really disgust me when we heard music like this on a regular basis coming out from Japanese composers from the 80s and 90s.

この曲を聴くとエアリスがセフィロスに殺され、クラウドが初めて感情をあらわになるシーン（台詞）を思い出させてくれます。
心が癒される素晴らしい演奏ですね。

nobuo's music helped me through so seriously bad times in life. FF games (mainly played to hear nobuos music) was my island in the midst of all the sea of bs I was living in. If I ever saw nobuo I will hug him so hard and thank him for making me live as a sane person for years. Probably he wouldnt like that tho lol
No one can write music like this and not have a soft spot for suffering humanity. I'm sure he would be grateful that his work helped you, even if that wasn't specifically the purpose to which it was written.

your comment resonated with me a lot, I remember listening to the distant worlds version of fisherman's horizon during really stressful times in college while wanting to give up on life and stuff, it just made me feel so at peace and like I was swept away to a tranquil and serene place
The contrabass really sets this apart from other cover.
For any fans unaware; Aerith's unexpected death and the subsequent theme of carrying on after the death of a loved one found in FF7 were inspired by Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi's mother dying during the game's development. To me, this song, and especially this rendition of it really delivers that sense of sadness and loss.

This song is even more sad when the cut scene where Cloud tells Aerith's mother that she was kidnapped is playing.

@@tegarbudiseptian I really, really hope they don't fuck it up in the Remake versions: Aerith has to die and stay dead! And she absolutely, DEFINITELY must not come back as a ghost or anything saccharine like that. The reason the original game had so much impact was because this was final! We literally never saw Aerith again until the closing seconds of the game.

I've listened to so many covers of Aerith's theme, I normally just skip it when it comes on my ipod. This made it sound so fresh, just like the first time I heard it, and it brought back so many of the memories that FF7 has for me. Thank you for giving me that again, keep up the truly excellent work :)

what a genius creation. Never has a song captured a character so well before and again. You can perfectly hear the innocent and joy along with the somber backstory of aerith. Dark back story but always the ray of hope in her eye. square during FF7 was the 98 bulls

Is your bassist not used to playing arco? He sounds very good, way better than I am anyways, but it seems like he does better when he is just playing pizzicato I really like this arrangement by the way, its very beautiful.

It bothers me that the left guitar is left soundstage, the centre guitar is right soundstage, and the right bass is centre soundstage.

It bothers me that-.. Wait nothing bothers me. I'm listening to Aerith's Theme... There could be bombs dropping and I would die peacefully.
It bothers him because the audio and video are not aligned properly. It sounds fabulous, no question. However, for people who notice such details, it is very like having the audio and video improperly timesynced, i.e., you see it slightly before or after you hear it. In this case, you hear it in a slightly different place than you see it. It's just an overlooked detail when they were making their mix. I'd rather they overlook that detail than not make the mix. Their recordings are a feast for the ears.
I think he means that when you listen to it you don't hear all instruments equally but rather on a certain side, for example the guitar on the left sounds as if it is on the left. It's especially noticable with headphones. When you only listen with the right side of your headphones, you can't hear the left guitar at all. But the problem is that where the instruments seem to be when you listen don't line up with where they actually are.
