Dante slams almost every catagory.
Strength: Dante (Dante is physically stronger than Nightmare who has been repeatedly to lift and destroy an infinite universes with ZERO difficulty. Nightmare is many times weaker than his Master, Mundus. Who Dante can defeat with no difficulty with current SDT.)
Speed/T. Speed: Dante (Immesureable) (Characters with Immesureable Speed are far faster than being with Infinite Speed (which Kratos has))
Durability/Endurance: Dante (Durability is often at times around the same level as AP/DC, unless it is shown that they cannot withstand said attack. Because logically, The character that achieve a certain amount of energy output either physically or otherwise (that also effects the physical body of the character) must be able to withstand the strain that it puts on them without breaking or sustaining any injuries or physical wounds of objects that would be considered fatal. However there maybe some exceptions if the injuries sustained are infinitesimal or insignificant scale or individual scuff it off like nothing happened) (We have seen Kratos gets injured very fatal even with bair hands or just normal objects. I searched a bit and realised Kratos defeats Dante
Proof:
Strength: Kratos overpowered Atlas, which lifts all the infinite Greek lands with not much problem.
Lifted Yggdrassil, which has infinite realms and timelines inside

Consider that Astral form Zeus (low narration level) one tapped Kratos, broke all his weapons (including his undestructable golden fleece) and almost killed him, It was like a beyond-neg diff. He even tried a conceptual erase on him, but Kratos activated POH and defeated Zeus no concept of diff

Full analys of Kratos vs Dante
Kratos is stronger but only in terms of lifting strength
First, Kratos has more lifting strength than Dante not because he is stronger but more because of the lack of feats on Dante's part, the only lifting feat that Dante has was against the savior who he casually brushed off and was calculated to be around 100k ton range and this was in his base form not even his DT form and especially not in his DMC2 Majin form.
So for lack of feats, yes you can definetly say Kratos is stronger than Dante but only in the lifting department.
Second, in terms of combat strength, Dante is vastly superior to Kratos, Kratos' main and actual feats all amounts to him taking out the Gods of Olympus who haven't shown anything worth to be universal level or multiversal level.
Dante on the other hand defeated Mundus, the king of hell in DMC1 who created a universe, this was confirmed by Hideki Kamiya, Dante's creator himself.
And this Dante was from DMC1, in DMC4, he's been stated to have surpassed his father's power, his father i.e Sparda defeated and sealed away Mundus the same way Dante did and Dante has surpassed him by DMC4. In DMC2, he takes on Argosax who even Sparda couldn't defeat, Dante simply played around with him and ended him in an instant
And this isn't even the strongest Dante considering he has crossed over to Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne and battled the Demi-Fiend who is multiversal for actual feats on the Demi-fied, you can look it up here, this guy got beat by Dante.
2) Dante is faster and has better hax.
Dante in DMC3 was already moving at the speed of lightning and as fast as it and reached and surpassed hypersonic levels of speed during DMC3, secondly he and Vergil crossed blades tens and hundreads of times so much so that they stopped the raindrops from even hitting him.
Second feat, He's blocked and dodged and reacted to ligthning casually in his fight with Nevan and didn't even break a sweat.
Third feat, He gains the power of quicksilver during DMC3 that literally allows him to stop time, stack that hax onto his already intense speed and what do you get? An untouchable demon hunter.
He is more reactant than Kratos who is piss poor slow. Secondly, Dante can simply stop time and cut Kratos up in a second. as per the poster's claim of Hermes being fast, Hermes' full potential was never calculated and he never showed Kratos what he can actually do, he acted cocky and Kratos ended up catching him because of him falling onto a statue and even then Kratos only managed to get him because Hermes was injured from the debreis of the statue, if you call that a feat, it's hillarious and is equivalent of punching an already exhausted fighter and saying you won the fight just cause you struck the last blow when he was tired.
God of War is loosely based on greek mythology, none of the feats carry over to the game, if that were the case then Hercules would've finished Kratos off the moment he got to him because Hercules was stronger than Kratos ever could be and was known for his strength. Dante at DMC3 is at hyper sonic speeds, this is even without his time stop, secondly, in DMC1, he's at FTL speeds taking on Mundus in his universe and in SMT Nocturne, he's even beyond that possibly even reaching and going beyondMFTL speeds considering he scales to the Demi-fiend.
3) Dante is unkillable
Kratos has never been brutally beaten up, secondly Kratos can be killed, it's why he's freakin' been sent to the underworld twice, he was killed by a stab wound, he was wounded in GOW2 with broken bones when a statue in Athens fell on him and it nearly killed him, granted this was because his God powers were drained but he couldn't even defeat that statue with his god powers and had to use a mechanism. And in GoW4, He freakin' gets beaten by Baldur and actually needs Atreus to help him, lmao, talk about being strong.
Secondly, Dante can heal every wound because of his instant regeneration, first as shown in DMC1, he recoverd from Alastor stabbing him in the chest.
Second in DMC3, he was stabbed again by Vergil and recovered a few moments later, the regeneration was delayed because of Vergil using Yamato to fight Dante, a sword that is the twin of Dante's sword, Rebellion and possibly the only weapon known to have actually delayed Dante's regeneration.
Third, in the anime, he's been pierced by Abigail on every conceivable body part and laughed it out and proceeded to absoulutely destroy him, for another note, he's been done so by Mundus as well and he beat him, this shows he can regenrate organs and broken bones as soon as he injures them making him nigh unkillable, he's been stabbed in DMC4 as well.
Wanna know what happened when Kratos got stabbed?
He died and was sent to the underworld and the only reason he got out was cause he had his body and his weapons with him.
If Kratos can't be harmed unless Dante held the blade of Olympus then I would ask the first poster to explain why Kratos got beaten up by Baldur, why he got killed by Zeus and why exactly he pleaded to Atlas to spare his life when he was being crushed, what a laughable argument.
Finally, Kratos isn't immortal, if he was, he wouldn't have been killed twice, the story in gow allowed him to keep his body even after death which allowed him to climb back to the world of the living, there's absolutely nothing saying that he can come back if his head is lobbed off and which Dante can do in a heartbeat due to his time stopping abilites.
It's nice to be a fanboy but being an ignorant fanboy is probably the most stupid thing one can be, to all posters who answer these types of questions, please do a modicum of research before actually answering.
Now, Dante's strongest form is in Nocturne, if people want to know how powerful he really is, I encourage them to play Shin Megami tensei Nocture or atleast, atleast check out the DMC series, specifically 1,4 and 2 where Dante just plays around with everyone.
In conclusion, at most, Kratos can take on DMC3 Dante for an actual even match and this is Dante at his weakest, any other version of him would literally stomp him into the ground

Dante is easily immeasurable in speed (moves faster than time), since he's able to keep up with Pluto who can bypass the dimensional axis of time
Kratos should also be around immeasurable in speed, since any character who scales around the yggdrasil should be around immeasurable. This means speed should be equalized

Goddamn, now that I think about it, Dante has some extremely impressive feats to his name...
I guess it also has to do with DMC being way more crazy and stylized than GOW, which while still stylized, is more down to earth. Sorry, but as much as GOW is a great series, would any character in that series jump off a tower, defeat a horde of flying demons with a sword and projectiles, launch the sword at an extremely quick velocity, run along a wall and catch said sword in that velocity and simply jump away from the wall into the air to show off before being eaten by a flying demon whale?

Id argue dmc 5 was better than rig iron and 2018, new gow gameplay sucks to me, it also feels really linear, while dmc is stylish and feels fresh and has so much content.
