1. Map awareness: knowing who stays at what biome and area will help preserve resources and makes raiding more efficient. For example: Bandits usually have makeshift barricades or live in places that had patterns. Such as a cross of concrete pipes/slabs. Ghouls hang around abandoned buildings, wolves prefer dense forests. This also helps protect you against hazards. Cars are generally to be avoided unless necessary for a quest as they are usually radioactive. 2. Get a silencer so you can silently pick off individuals without alerting the group as long as they are not looking. 3. Get a scope. This allows you to see further so you can recon an area and choose who are the easy targets and where it's best to enter 4. Listen. Headphones are recommended. Footsteps are different per terrain knowing what sounds like where lets you know where enemies are even when out of your line of sight 5. In a firefight. Do not stay in one area. Enemies will follow your last location and flank you. After you kill one of them, relocate to a different location and then kill another one of them while they are lookinh for you in your last location, repeat until the entire group is dead. 6. Play off groups from each other. Have the bandits fight the wolves or the ghouls or the green army. Profit from their shared suffering. You can do this by going in the middle of the two groups, make a sound so they will follow and once they are in line of sight with each other. Watch the carnage. Or as what we call in Tarkov: there are no pacts between the rats. This is easier with a high sneak skill and a loud rifle with scope. Fire at a random wall between them and they will look for each other.
One of the reasons I never pulled the trigger on Tarkov, other than the cost to invest in an unfinished product, was no single player. I really don't want my whole gameplay experience to be dependent on my internet connection. Thats why I am very excited about this game.
You GOTTA have a sort button (hopefully with sort options - like: alphabetically, price, stack total, size, type (ammo, weapons, armor, misc), reverse alphabetically…etc).
I think the best balance would be only allowing auto-sorting when you're safe in the bunker. Tetris inventories make sense when you're out and about, you trade the time managing your inventory for the danger of holding still.
@@codec862 Does time run while in your inventory though? I didn't watch carefully enough to see that. If time stops there's no point in not having some auto-sorting. Otherwise I agree with you.

For those who don't know, the STALKER phenomenon began with the short novel Roadside Picnic, written by the Strugatsky brothers. I just finished reading it, and thought it was pretty cool, so I recommend it for anybody interested in fiction, film, or games in this vein of post-apocalypta.

Back in the 90's, I actually made a Doom map (WAD) that was based on that mechanic of monsters accidentally fighting each other. I called it "Crossfire" and was great fun at work on the high-end 486-based CAD machines in the engineering department. 😄
Oh dude, as someone who snorts Stalker Anomaly mod by day and leaves it in their nose asleep, i can safely say this lil game is made with nothing but love
I played the demo and i found the ttk on my part far to fast(i died to fast). Most of the time a fire fight is non avoidable and you always take damage. but this is the nature of the 2D environment.
I know nothing about guns and I'm generally a medieval fantasy kind of guy but you've really sold me on this game (as you've done on so many others before) The game looks pretty awesome, I like the inventory management (sort button pls) and the skill system, upgrade system, base system. For multiplayer, I'd be interested in a 2 or 3 person co-op mode so we can squad tactics some bandits. Not interested in PvP at all for this sort of game. Also, off-topic to the game but on-topic to the video content, I had a huge Coke Zero addiction where I would go through about almost a gallon every day. Went cold turkey back in 2016 and only started drinking non-caffeinated stevia-sweetened cola products this year because I genuinely like the taste. It can be a tough battle but fighting it feels a thousand times better than feeling the way you do when you're under the boot of any addiction. Good luck keeping the caffeine monsters at bay! :D

Splatter Cat, I might be addicted to giving stuff up. 😏 I gave up Regular Pop like 15 years ago, diet pop like 5 years after that. I'm a stress eater and by the end of 2020 I was almost 300 pounds. Now for the last 18 months I don't do Wheat Added Sugar Fast food or about anything that is highly processed. . . I've lost 50 pounds still have 30 to go. . . but it's amazing what a year+ without something does for you. Fast Food now smells like old grease and a janitors closet to me. I can NOT believe I ate that stuff. Vary few things I even miss. . . . Pizza and toast are about it.
This looks pretty cool! I've played the crap out of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and this being the same kind of game, but top-down and with some base building, sign me up.
I backed this on kickstarter, so I have a key for the release. Didn't think it would take until the end of the year or whatever to get the game out so I didn't do the early access. Ah well.

correct! Also this game is almost exactly Stalker, and not really Escape from Tarkov, not really sure why Splatt is making that game as a comparison and not Stalker, its kinda weird
@@captain_cheezus5186 sheesh.. but i always thought that not many people even played Escape from Tarkov, because it was super niche military sim that didnt have single player and was kinda not even straight forward as to when it was publically released to play. @@raidermaxx2324 Stalker isn't approachable in the same way tarkov is. Stalker jank is way worse than tarkov jank, and having friends to guide you through the game and random players do the same with voip now is a lot easier to get into than a game where the dot at the center of your hipfire crosshair doesn't even line up with the rest of the crosshair
@@captain_cheezus5186 the crosshair and dot dont line up in Escape from Tarkov? thats pretty messed up. no wonder the active player base has evaporated in just a few short years. But, in myopinion the biggest mistake the EFT devs ever made, was no single player game. I dunno, if devs want their games to have any legitimacy, you gotta include single player. Because that is such a significant portion of the player base, and since medical tech is having everybody live longer, OG gamers like myself who have been gaming since the early 80's and will continue until they pull or cold, dead hands off of our keyboard and mouse, and who favor good, story driven single player campaigns or even simulations, are here to stay for a significant time frame. It wont be for a few decades yet, when the world only knows and wants multiplayer games. Very poor choice made by the devs, and they are feeling it for sure! On the other hand, you have Stalker, which compared to Escape from Tarkov, was janky, subpar graphics, not even very good written story, yet devs were dedicated to a sound, non diluted, single player experience, and its a classic that has had two sequels, on a mod friendly engine, and is about to release the newest Stalker yet!! I guess its a matter of perspective though, for me, Stalker was much more easy to "get into" and Escape from Tarkov's requirements-as you said yourself- of needing a an actual "guide or even two" that have played the game before and some weird technology called "voip" or something, was a big roadblock for me, and i only forced myself to start exploring it, because i had become such an Arma fan, and had finally figured out the difference between games like COD and military sims lik Arma, and escape from Tarkov, and was like i gotta try them all! lol . Ultimately tho,Escape from Tarkov was just too "linear" and repetative for me, and i think im not the only one. I wonder what "management choices by the devs" he was talking about that made him stop playing the game. Was there some sort of controversy at some point?
Do ghouls, bandits and wildlife fight eachother? Can there be random enemies indoors in houses? Can you negotiate with bandits or get them to surrender at least? Can you consume 1/4 or 1/2 of a food or drink? Would like to see those things.
Bandits, ghouls, and Green Army members will attack each other on the map if they wander into each other, so you can be walking through some random area and hear gunfire stitch through the air from some random direction through the trees. There are certain buildings where enemies will spawn inside of, but not inside the small, one-room buildings. No to the negotiations and no to the partial consumption.
@@niklase.4850 Thanks. That's disappointing, a lot of tension is lost if it is predictable that there are never enemies in the small buildings. Same goes for negotiations and partial consumption, I hope they add those things.
Looks quite similar to Streets of Rogue.. Same developer? Be careful cutting back on caffeine too quick you can get pretty nasty migraines from caffeine withdrawals, I have a crippling coffee addiction. I recall there were invisible enimies in one of the STALKER games or mods. The three line rifle M1891, which eventually evolved into what were known in the west as the Mosin-Nagant which was a cock on opening bolt action, it has an internal 5 round magazine usually loaded with a 5 round stripper clip, but can be topped off by hand one by one. It was chambered in 7.62x54mmR. The R just means it has a full rim, which is just for easier head spacing. They can be pretty accurate especially the Finnish version which was chambered in 7.62x53mmR. Though, they we're fairly powerful cartridges of the day WWII Era, the Springfield M1903 has a 5 round internal magazine uses stripper clips for faster reloading, but fired the more powerful 30-06 aka 7.62x63. Then you have M1 Garand which is semi-automatic and fires the same cartridge though it doesn't have a traditional magazine, it uses an En-bloc clip to form the feed lips and body of the magazine, while the follower and spring are attached to the Rifle. Then there's the BAR same round, detatchable 20 round magazine, and fully automatic. Hampered by the 20 rounds for fully automatic and its a heavy ass rifle. I'd go for the Springfield or the Finnish Mosin.
yea i really hate that everything fucking has to be multiplayer.. it really dilutes most games, and just like with everything resources that could be going to a really in depth, kick ass single player game gets diverted to fucking multiplayer, and ive never played a mp game that wasnt janky and trash compared to something comparable in single player. Plus im an old guy, if i wanted to play video games with children, id force my kids to play games with me. But i game to escape reality not mesh with it lol

So its the same map size and "same map" just a bit different everytime. Will the enemies change the higher your level gets?
They start to get more difficult and are much more difficult on the other maps
@@TrendyTryhard Bought it right after I made that comment, 60 hours in. Great game.
Great game. I played the .16(?) version a whole bunch. Can't wait for the full game to come out.
Added to wishlist!
This looks like a ton of fun.
I am also addicted to diet pipsi. This game looks great.
I forgot about this game!! saw it long ago and I'm pretty stoked!!
very excited for this to be released
Splatter Cat, I might be addicted to giving stuff up. 😏
I gave up Regular Pop like 15 years ago, diet pop like 5 years after that.
I'm a stress eater and by the end of 2020 I was almost 300 pounds.
Now for the last 18 months I don't do
Wheat
Added Sugar
Fast food
or about anything that is highly processed.
Ah well.
This game looks amazing
Ey was´n geiles Spiel!!!! Sorry for the german Sentence... This Game feels fantastic. Please more of them.
Disclaimer: Caffeine, like alcohol, has profound effects on your body. Like alcohol, the recommended advice is to ween off of it slowly, thereby avoiding most of the more severe withdrawal symptoms. Unlike alcohol, I don't think quitting caffeine cold turkey will kill you, but the migraines you'll get will make you wish it did.
Good one kicking the habit!
Damn, the Stalker Gamma mod pack really changed the game.
Moisin-Nagant is 7.62 x 54R, like a 30-06... Nasty!
It seems almost like a crime against absurdism to have killed a man and then not stolen his cheese.
0:45 That door has no lintel over it. Wouldn't want to open that door. Might have the building collapse on your head.
Seems like Escape from Tarkov but pixels, I love it.
Looks cool, it's got that view system like Project Zomboid
Actually can't wait for this game.
The invisible guys in stalker are called bloodsuckers. The little ghouls you killed are inspired by snorks from stalker
correct! Also this game is almost exactly Stalker, and not really Escape from Tarkov, not really sure why Splatt is making that game as a comparison and not Stalker, its kinda weird
@@raidermaxx2324 because nowadays more people know tarkov than stalker. It’s the easier connection to make, even if it’s not the best one.
@@captain_cheezus5186 sheesh.. but i always thought that not many people even played Escape from Tarkov, because it was super niche military sim that didnt have single player and was kinda not even straight forward as to when it was publically released to play. I'd for sure more people would be familiar with the Stalker franchise despite it being a decade since the last one came out.. These fucking zoomers man. Its like an argument i got into with this dude once, who said modded Stalker COP was the best and only way to play Stalker. But then i said well what about the original Stalker, and Call of Pripyat vanilla, that was a great game! and homeboy had never even played it! he was just making an opinionated statement without any knowledge of the original IP's. I gues sthis is a similar situation in a sense. Sometimes i just get annoyed by really young people sorry lol
Like the artwork.
Single player rpg Tarkov? That game is 100% for me.
Oh, 2D top down Stalker!
Great looking game. I dig it.
So much looking forward playing this game....
Can't wait to play this x.x
Just replace the Pepsi with bourbon. Boom problem solv…. Wait a minute.
Wishlisted! What a great game!
I do not feel you at all :P Drinking coffee all day and still tired lol
Inventory Tetris can be fun.
I feel you my man, i'm stuck drinking one bottle of pepsi max a day since few weeks i need to stop that lmao
This game looks like a lot of fun
Really can't wait for this game. How large is the map?
The Oil factory keycards are old items. It is sad to see nothing was added to the game in half a year of development, except a bottle of perfume.
I'm not a fan of multiplayer but if you could hire a small squad that you could give your extra equipment to that would be awesome
yea i really hate that everything fucking has to be multiplayer.. it really dilutes most games, and just like with everything resources that could be going to a really in depth, kick ass single player game gets diverted to fucking multiplayer, and ive never played a mp game that wasnt janky and trash compared to something comparable in single player. Plus im an old guy, if i wanted to play video games with children, id force my kids to play games with me. But i game to escape reality not mesh with it lol
Awesome dude
looks good!
I'll keep an eye out for it
Ah, 2D Tarkov :D
Dude this game is awesome
game seems to have a loot problem like theres too much of it but still seems nice! ill fave it and will see in a year or two
11:00 why not pick all loot though? you can just throw away stuff only once your inventory is full
EDIT: okay weight, guess scraping weapons aint profitable
