At Kerala's Capital Thiruvananthapuram We Called it as Pulinchikka. It means a fruit with sour taste.

In Malaysia we call it belimbing buluh.. A lot of dishes using it such as, sambal, fish curry with coconut milk, and most famous is black sambal where we boiled it without water for hours till it turns black and then cook it with chilies and anchovies which could last for months without putting in into fridge
