Okay this video was next level - funny and entertaining but I also liked seeing the infusion process and the improved cocktail at the end! This could be a fun series - improving terrible drinks! 😂
I’ve been watching/ expecting April fools videos all day long but for some reason when I started watching this I completely forgot what day it was. I was like WOW what a different video from Anders this week.
Alright, I kind of expected an „unserious“ recipe but this video is just sooo entertaining that I’m thinking about keeping the recipe for „special guests“. You really have a rare talent for mixing entertainment, information and positive vibes, you might even become a bartender in the future ;)
I laughed out loud multiple times during this video and used the rewind-10-second-feature more than once to re-watch spots. Az's "nice" as she pulls off the pepper was one spot and the "Shout out to Al who came up with this drink... not this drink. I came up with this... Al, you came up with a terrible drink" was the another line that really got me! 😂 You two rock! Cheers!
Longtime subscriber, first time commenter. We were in tears watching this one! 😆 I’m going to try the improved once I hunt down the Besk .. if nothing else, just to tell people the story! Great video!
The start of this video made me laugh so much 😂 the slam down of the drink had me in bits! The finished product looks really interesting tho, I’ll have to give it a go. Long time follower of the channel and owe you a lot for my love of making cocktails and consuming them ! Cheers from rainy old England Kent and keep up the amazing videos
You know whats funny is that you said "we'll take the curdles out" my brain was like "yeah, lets get the curdles out". At no time did my brain pause to tell me its Curds, yep, I am getting old.
I love this video. I appreciate your positive attitude. You are the drinkers' dream bartender. Would love to try this new and improved version of Goddamnit.
Hello sir You're doing a great show. I really liked how genuinely and calmly you spoke and at the same time with great passion. Greetings from Frankfurt am Main
Hahaha I completely fell for it too, I was like “oh wow this is a different take, I’m into it!” and then boom, I’m a fool. Still absolutely loved the video, really entertaining as always. And Az throwing away the chilli you specifically stopped to place back on… brilliant haha.
My husband tells tales of tending bar at a big "honky tonk" in Texas. He says at the end of the night they would sell shots of what was left in the bar mat. The first drink is what I imagine those shots would look (and taste) like.
Been learning from your channel for a few weeks now. Have recreated quite a few and I’m so happy to be learning thank you! This video made me laugh. You are brilliant at making content. It’s fun, entertaining and most of all…effective! Well done to both of you ❤
Awesome episode!! Can't wait to try this odd concoction (the second one). Question for you all.... Could you do a behind the lens episode? It's been great to follow you both for a while, but we rarely see what goes on to make these gorgeous videos come together. Not looking for trade secrets or anything, just saw a brief moment of the setup and pre work and it made me curious. Cheers!
Ya know, my wife is getting very impatient with me. I just got back from another trip to [a great liquor store] where, outside of mail order, I'm most likely to find all of the spirits you use in your many wonderful cocktails. I now very much want to grab some Besk, Malort, and Ancho Reyes. But I fear my floor will finally collapse into the cellar. Oh. Thank you as always for your informative and entertaining vids. I'm hooked!
Malort is like someone tried to make gasoline with orange peels. PS would love to see you do a video on Malort and see if there are ways to make it drinkable.
y'know, given that is April 1st, I was thinking that your could start a series of the worst drinks that you've seen ordered... Lol and behold, here comes this cocktail monstrosity xP thanks for another fun video!
I recently felt compelled to mix whisky Baileys and tawny port, thinking the wine would add some nice fruit flavors to the baileys. It was a regrettable experiment but your idea for filtering out the curd has some merit. Might try it again some day, a long time from now.
If UA-cam demonetized this video because of the name I would love to personally donate what I can to make up for it cause this has been one of my favorite videos 😂
LOLOL. It took me a day to get to this but I was laughing all the way to "I'm not drinking this!!" Hilarious. BTW. Just came up with the Kentucky Wake-up. Just waiting for the invite to send in your drinks segment!!
En español le decimos resiliencia a saber salir de los malos momentos con sabidurías nuevas. Estuviste genial, Anders! In Spanish we say resilience to knowing how to get out of bad times with new wisdom. You were great Anders!
You got me! I might try the original, but it looks like Besk is unavailable in my area (and even Curiada it seems!), so Malort for both versions it is. I recently discovered Ancho Reyes and am in love. Would love to see more drinks featuring Ancho Reyes. Cheers!
It didn’t work. Just blended together. The base is the same for the 2 liqueurs so maybe that’s a factor. Putting it in the freezer isn’t getting any results either. Gonna try cooking it next. I’ll lose ABV but maybe it will clarify and seperate
First, goddammit, you got me. Second, when the drink started curdling, I gasped so loudly that my dog came to check on me. Third, the Az Damn It for the new and improved version.
You got me, you scoundrel. I have an old bottle of pepper pot vodka (Inferno) that's been infusing for a couple of decades that I don't know what to do with. I might try a bastardized version of this cocktail using it. Great vid.
There is a series of ytube from a barman called Bruce that he actually makes and drinks all the bad cocktail drinks that are or were around. He has been beside a bar for a few years so he had a couple of things to share. Your process in order to make it palatable shows to all novice, like me, that making nice drinks is not an epiphany... Nice video.
Anders, Very funny! This reminds me (a little) of clarified milk punch. Can you make a video about this sometime? Only thing, I think clarified milk punch is good when done right!
just ordered 250 € worth of stuff to fill up our bar. so keep up the good work. until I ran into your channel I was pretty much a single malt whisky only drinker. and now - I wanna build :)
i've been making chilailey's for years !! my second favorite thing to consume next to downing an entire brick of limberger and washing it back it a 1L of tonic.
First cocktail reminded me of a shot we used to do called "æselspark" (Donkey Kick). There are different way to mix it. We used to do 20 ml of Snaps, 20 ml of Gammel Dansk (Bitter), 5-10 dashes of Tabasco, salt, pepper and whipped cream. Shake and serve not chilled. A different way to do it is vodka or Rastaputz, tequila, Tabasco, salt and pepper. I "like" the first one better. We used to do them as a test of manhood or if someone was acting up at the bar to take them down a notch.
This reminds me of a cocktail that my friend came up with at the last football tailgate of our senior year of college. It was called the “Father Jenkins” after the President of the school. It was roughly equal parts: Jameson, Kraken, Ketel One, Fireball and Bombay Sapphire, with a floater of coke to fill the rest of the cup. In the sizes they were being poured that day, certainly not something you’d ever want to serve at a bar or a party if you didn’t want the building to burn down. However, the overall taste was much, much better than I ever expected. It was thick, but in a pleasant way kind of like a Guinness, with a sweet but slightly spicy taste from the rum and fireball (even though fireball’s taste is totally synthetic tasting it weirdly cut through everything else). You could definitely turn the flavor profile of that dreadful concoction into something halfway decent with a bit of work I bet. Just serve it in a really small glass.
G.D-it, you got me. Just looking at the drink at the beginning, it reminded me of the bottle of milk that you forgot about cause it got accidentally pushed to the back of the fridge.
ALWAYS pour the liquid that provides the curdles first and then add the rest. Same goes for milkwashing. First milkd then citris component :P other than that I like the combination
As someone of Swedish heritage you might need to work on the pronunciation of Malört. Rather than "ma - loort" it should be a bit closer to "marl-oar-t". Malört happens to be Wormwood in Swedish, made famous in Absinthe, and also a popular herb used in Swedish snaps to give a bitter flavour. The word "bitter" happens to be "bäsk" (pronounced "besk") so you were right on the money with your choice. Love the channel though, keep the drinks coming😄🍸
Anyone trying the original? 🙋♂🤢
Grab the bottles I use most at Curiada!: 👉 bit.ly/bottlesandersavailable
Nope.
No way. I was afraid for you when I saw that drink.
Not a chance on the original! Even the improvement is highly unlikely 😊
pretty disgusting. 😂
I mean I have the stuff....I think you need a much hotter hot sauce though. Like Da Bomb or some shit....Which I also have.....
Okay this video was next level - funny and entertaining but I also liked seeing the infusion process and the improved cocktail at the end! This could be a fun series - improving terrible drinks! 😂
Thanks, Dimitar! It was a fun process. You could be onto something 🤔 Cheers!
@@AndersErickson I could easily supply an endless list of horrible drinks,.. my madness knows no bounds.

Longtime subscriber, first time commenter. We were in tears watching this one! 😆 I’m going to try the improved once I hunt down the Besk .. if nothing else, just to tell people the story! Great video!
Y’all are the best! Totally fooled me and I was stoked when you threw that trash out! More cocktails with Ancho Reyes please!
The Ancho Reyes is so good! Cheers!
You fooled me. I thought you'd do a Greg from HTD. I won't be trying this, but I liked the prank! Great video Anders.
Haha thanks, Joonha! Make yourself a good drink and enjoy the weekend! Cheers!
@@AndersErickson it would be hilarious if you actually did a Greg, that would be hilarious! We want to see you struggle!
i'm just gonna do both of these, I either unlock an achievement or die in the process

Best April Fool's thing I saw this year. Loved it!! You two are the best!!
Hello sir
You're doing a great show. I really liked how genuinely and calmly you spoke and at the same time with great passion.

Anders, you and Az always make me smile. And you teach me good drinks! Many thanks.

Believe that's known as a Jersey Turnpike (at least in the Northeast)

I'm in tears! You got me!
Ever 😂🙏🏻😍 you are awesome although I don’t drink but I really enjoy your videos. The way you present them is so fun and lovely. Thanks 🙏🏻
I love seeing people take cocktails they don't like and remake them. Great job.
The look on your face while stalling to taste the first version was....
Classic...😁😂🤣😂😅
This is hilarious. Cheers Anders!
Thanks, Uncle Pete! Enjoy the weekend!

Great Video as always. Very entertaining.
Haha! “YOU FOOLS!” thanks for an awesome G.D. Alternative!
Btw my slice finger is healing nicely!
I happily chortled through the whole thing, loved the skit and the Improved Goddamnit as well!
I needed a good laugh! Thanks Anders & Az
very entertaining video. Glad you fixed the drink. Not sure if I'll try this one. but who knows.
If UA-cam demonetized this video because of the name I would love to personally donate what I can to make up for it cause this has been one of my favorite videos 😂

When you got to the tobasco I really was expecting it to have a Japanese bitters dasher. Great video

Loved seeing a little bit of behind the scenes footage!
So, so funny! Thanks for the sips, tips & recipes! I'd love to see you make the Hunter bourbon cocktail sometime.
So intrigued by the Chillaileys! I'm definitely going to have to experiment with that.
LOL! At least I know what to make if I have guests I wish not to return 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Loved this one. Really entertaining.
this was a great April Fools recipe!! Thx Anders
Chilaileys looks pretty tempting on its own. Great name. Great improvement!
As a Swede i say it's pronunsed Maal ourt and Behhsk in English that's wormwood and bitter. Use to it wise and that's great tasting. Love u Anders ✌️
I was expecting chili bitters in the remake. Great content as always!
En español le decimos resiliencia a saber salir de los malos momentos con sabidurías nuevas. Estuviste genial, Anders! In Spanish we say resilience to knowing how to get out of bad times with new wisdom. You were great Anders!
Az removing the chili after you put it there 😂😂😂😂 this random things are why Az needs to come out more😆 she’s funny even without trying

Best video so far! I love the Ancho Liquor
I’m gonna do an Baileys washed Irish mist. Thanks for the inspiration!
It didn’t work. Just blended together. The base is the same for the 2 liqueurs so maybe that’s a factor. Putting it in the freezer isn’t getting any results either. Gonna try cooking it next. I’ll lose ABV but maybe it will clarify and seperate
This was great!!
And I think Az is officially no longer a layperson. Lol
Definitely the one drink I can assure you I will never make 😂
"it starts to separate, which is...enticing." This solidifies Anders in the "glass-half-full" club. 😂
Also, what is it about the Ancho Reyes that causes the Baileys to separate / curdle?
First, goddammit, you got me.
Second, when the drink started curdling, I gasped so loudly that my dog came to check on me.
Third, the Az Damn It for the new and improved version.
Happy April fools Anders and Az

Go for it! Cheers!
That stir at 4:02 really sold me on the drink, it's not a real cocktail unless it turns chunky!
I started dry heaving just looking at the full list. As a Chicagoland resident Malort should be banned for all eternity. Thanks for the fun video!
People always ordering the crazy stuff. LOL. Your fix sounds very interesting. Love the ancho and bailys infusion.
Yeah the Chilailey’s was a fun experiment! Cheers! 🥃
The Chilaileys sounds so damn good. Never would have considered putting them in a glass together but the baileys wash sounds unreal.

You had me at Tabasco! I’m turning away anything including an omelet w/Tabasco! 😂always fun to see your content! Happy late April Fools! Cheers!
Haha thanks, Ann! Yeah a curdling Tabasco drink is a pretty tough sell 😂
One of the best moments is when he slams the horrible drink down, it splashes everywhere and he says “there you go, the GODDAMMIT”.
just ordered 250 € worth of stuff to fill up our bar. so keep up the good work. until I ran into your channel I was pretty much a single malt whisky only drinker. and now - I wanna build :)
GOT EEEEEEEM! That was a good joke, but I was still hoping you were gonna have it hahaha!
I really dig the cloudy look of the liquid. Somehow it kind of pays homage to the curdling of the original
Chilailey's!?! Love it! God Dammit, Anders, you're a caution!
I like how you toss the glass out. Like 'yep, it's so bad the glass is done forever'
John Hodgman: Malort "...tastes like pencil shavings and heartbreak." There you go.
I like that 👍
i've been making chilailey's for years !! my second favorite thing to consume next to downing an entire brick of limberger and washing it back it a 1L of tonic.

"Milagro" reposado is my absolute favorite reposado!!
fooled me too! I was like "I waited all week long for this!" lol
Hahaha...watched with my wife and we both loved it!! Well...not the drink but your video.
also there was a time where i was at the pub with my pals and my friend matteo ordered a spiced morgan’s with blackcurrant and lemonade
I completely agree with you Anders any cocktail that includes any amount of Baileys cream is disgusting. 😅
It’s like cement mixers or Buffalo piss when we would take someone out on their bar tour and get them some really disgusting shots lol
Definitely got me!! Any recommendations for bars or restaurants with good bars during restaurant week to visit for Chicago folk?
That's a good question - I don't know what's on the list! Gonna have to do some research.
G.D-it, you got me. Just looking at the drink at the beginning, it reminded me of the bottle of milk that you forgot about cause it got accidentally pushed to the back of the fridge.

Great video Anders 😂 this was painful haha
Haha thanks, David! Yeah I don't think I'll make the original ever again 😂 Cheers to the good drinks!
This rules. Thank you for taking me on a journey through this most wretched mixological abomination, and then pulling off an impeccable swerve
just by looking at the title, I would like to say, the spoiler is so obvious that it's funny!
This is what you drink when you've lost a bet... a bad bet you should never have made.
Aw man, I was really hoping you were going to do a spit-take of the original 😂

1. Serves me right for watching this on an empty stomach 🤢 2. Glad I watched till the end
Well, it looked like ... you know when you've had a little too much drink haha
Okay, I gave the video a thumbs up just from the intro.
somehow watching this for the first time one day before it turns 1 year old
