    This was fantastic. Emily is such a paragon in her field, I only wish more people could appreciate the brilliance of a composer like this. I am an an amateur pianist and when I see what emily has done I am just in awe. so naturally tallented. She definitely deserves all accolades for her work and genius. thank you emily

    This is quite possibly the greatest piece of contemporary music in my lifetime (and she's only 14). This kind of quality will endure and outlive the greatest works in all other popular genres (pop, rock jazz, etc.). Long live Emily Bear!

    This is what its all about: she shows us how a perfect developed human is supposed to Be, Source in human form, a natural human, humble, peaceful, creative, she is the perfection in human flesh, humble and yet Divine. The personification of Love, Light and Joy, all Divine attributes our true , real heritage. She is music herself, when she plays there is no one there , only Presence. It flows gently , pure, untouchable.

    She shows us how to bring the Light that we all are into this human form, we all have it, but very few are yet aware of it. She does what brings her joy and happiness and shares it with us, what a gift and I wish more parents would be more aware in letting their children be who their really, truely are. Reflections of the Light.

    This passionate welcome home to all Veterans is greatly appreciated. The thunderous applause and standing ovation were well deserved. Oddly, the other recording of this performance on UA-cam is even richer and more spectacular than this recording, probably because it was from a different vantage point back in the "cheap" seats. This recording emphasizes Emily and the Steinway piano while the other one highlights what the Rockford Orchestra was playing. These recordings show the complexity and sophistication of the music that 13 year old Emily Bear wrote.

      He next intro was with the violins, and she was watching them so it all synced well. Every piece she has written for an orchestra, she watches them all to make sure they come in at the right time, as she wrote it. She is the master of every player there. She keeps her eye out on every important part and who is playing it.

  • @aaronzacharyreed6163

    As a composer, she's a really good melodist, and her knowledge of jazz harmony supports that gift very well. Take around 2:30 and 7:00 for example, she plays with augmented chords and chromatic mediant modulations -- very much in the film score idiom -- but she sprinkles in jazz harmonies as well, for example the G7#9 chords around 5:00. Also uses that brief staccato string ostinato very effectively to mark transitions between sections. The only thing I'll critique is that some of the transitions are a bit jarring or feel a bit unmotivated, as if she was concatenating very different ideas without much connecting material; however, the unity of the piece is restored a bit by restatement of main themes and harmonic ideas later in the piece.
    Also: she's THIRTEEN, for God's sake!!! And she knows how to orchestrate like Danny Elfman or John Williams!!! I've struggled so much with achieving balance in orchestration, and she just effortlessly uses the instruments and the orchestral choirs so so so well to make the music shine. Brava!!!

    • @TheFreddyEduard
      @TheFreddyEduard 3 роки тому

      At least when you watch this video, you will understand what the piece is about and why in your view the transitions are choppy. it is consciously composed that way because it is a War piece. And Wars don't have smooth transitions.

    Very impressive composition for a twelve or thirteen year old. It's so rare for there to be genuine child prodigies. Others to look out for, both a bit younger than Emily, are American jazz pianist Joey Alexander who emerged as a ten year old playing the most amazing jazz; and British pianist, violinist and composer Alma Deutscher, who wrote a piano sonata aged 6, an opera aged 7, a full length opera aged 10, violin concerto aged 9, piano concerto aged 10 plus plenty of other works. So we've got Emily, Joey and Alma all at the same time, which is pretty remarkable. Would be interesting if they got together some time to make music.

    This peace show us again how great Emily is as pianist, composer and person. And it show us how fantastic the conductor and orchestra is. I think the members of the orchestra and the conductor are the proudest musicians in the world with Emily in the orchastra. 8:00 At the time of Wild West people say, Don't shoot the pianist' But now there's a new history moment. After watching several videos of Emily Bear, from her first introduction on Ellen's show to now, she displays a gentle spirit, and one that has a God given talent at the keyboard and vocals. While her physical beauty is superior, her gentle spirit and grounding far exceeds her beauty. She is wonderful to look at, but her music reaches into your soul. I would think in the years to come she will be at the forefront of Pianists that effect the musical world. I am very happy to have stumbled upon this talent!!

    Emily has written a fascinating variation on this piece for 25 pianos that can be found on UA-cam. Emily has also written a solo piano variation of this tone poem.
