@cloudysky9395 we have the full fall seasons here. Some hot and humid days in the Summer, a beautiful colorful Fall, a chilly Winters, and lovely Spring.
I moved from Long Island to Orefield,Pa. How would you compare Orefield to Easton? Our agent for the apartment persuaded to move to Orefield because of the Parkland school district. It's been two years and I still feel like a city slicker out here. But, my son is still attending school. So we are starting to look around for a house and I know Easton is closer to New Jersey.
I showed a house in Palmer last night on a beautiful street, on a cul-de-sac, very peaceful, green grass, beautiful & serene. If you are talking about the main drag in Palmer with all the shopping, then yes, there is a big shopping area that is crowded and noisy, but it has a lot of great stores to shop in. Most of Palmer is pretty peaceful otherwise, in my opinion.
As a foodie myself, Easton is great disaapointment. I live downtown and there are honestly only about 5 or 6 restaurants - really, thats all - all are OK, but not one is great. Aside from mostly boring menus and less than impressive food, elegant ambiance and atmosphere are non existant. And there is no such thing as a great pizza to be found anywhere. I avoid the public market since it isn't even as good or as imaginative as a food court found in your average mall or airport, with very limited hours and overpriced selections, along with very little seating. Furthermore, the Lehigh Valley was recently named in a published study as one of the 5 noisiest places to live in the US, with Easton cited as the epicenter. Living in the historic district, I can attest to this fact - an endless, ear splitting parade of traffic jams, closed roadways, major construction, music blasting and several street festivals every month that further jam the already congested streets and airways with noise polution. Peace, quiet and charm are definetly not a thing here. And crime is a good deal higer than the national average - with a barage of recent car jackings, assaults and drug traffic. Not a place you want to find tourself after dark.
@jamesplatt4555 hmm. We have completely different experiences. I am in Easton after dark a lot, never felt threatened. Oak & Thyme are upscale and delicious. People are friendly. Festivals are fun. Maybe you just like a more quiet lifestyle? And as for restaurants, besides the ones mentioned, there is River Grill, Sogo, Pearly Bakers, Mesa, 3rd & Ferry, Ocean, Aman's, The Bayou, Meli, Sette Luna, Kabinett, Stoke, The State Cafe, Takki Ramen, Colonial, and that is just downtown (I named 18, but I know I am missing some). There are tons more in the West Ward & Southside. So, not sure if maybe you haven't been here in awhile?

Colonial pizza and Sette Luna are my fave pizza joints, highly recommend
You should move out. You should move to Mexico or some other third world place.
