In this video I am going to show you how to install android tv OS on raspberry pi 4 that’s gonna transform any old tv in to powerful android smart tv. This is Lineage OS android 10 based on Android TV OS. This way you can use raspberry Pi 4 to turn Any OldTV into Smart Android TV.
As of know I have tried Lineage OS android 10 (TV OS edition) which is stable enough to use on raspberry pi 4.

There was a change, enabling advanced reboot is done through system settings > buttons.
Also make sure you are ONLY using keyboard to navigate, using a mouse won’t work like you expect it to for clicking/etc
At least for version 11 of the OS instead of 10, also make sure you’re download the correct version 11

There's no advanced reboot option in my setting under developer options what should I do?
Do you need to unzip the ROMS IN THE ROM folder? SNES9X loaded the roms from a labeled zip file, if you must unzip the rom, to work; does it have to have a independent folder in the ROMS directory?
For your information, you need to put gapps package on external storage i.e pendrive. After that advanced / recovery reboot, you need to choose storage as external storage and then install gapps form that..! After install don't forget to wipe data .... Hope it will help .. !
YES. With new lineageOS when you are flashing an GAPPS you must wipe the data.

@@kskroyaltech It does support USB boot. I have it installed on M.2 which is piggybacking off two of the USB3 ports, i have the Argon M.2 case. It's in the FAQ section on Konsta's website. Also, the Pi needs to have the latest firmware to be able to boot from USB.
nice work around buddy does it comes with widewine l1 and play 4k as expected?
I don't think so wideVine L1 works. 4K lags a lot.. 720P or 1080P max.

I am sorry I am unaware of USB audio output I didnt test that but I can say HDMI audio output works.
With these is there an option to change the DNS? Just wondering because I use a DNS VPN.

I have a question. It installs everything and runs on pendrive only and displays on tv. Am I right?
I can't find the gapps file when in recovery. its there copied and pasted but in recovery I can't find it. what could I be doing wrong

Can I control the Rasp Pi remotely with a PC and install Android using the method you showed? Asking since I don't have a mouse and keyboard right now.
Unfortunately you cannot, Its not a headless OS .. You cant SSH into Android , there is a way but its tedious to make it work. Try using bluetooth mouse or keyboard

So I have everything running and working on my Pi, shows playing, apps downloading, ECT. The one problem I'm having is that I set this all up on a 128 GB micro SD card and put that in the board, but it's only showing up in settings as 4.7 GB. I haven't tried to download more than that amount of content into this yet, but I just don't get why my 128 GB Micro SD is showing up at 4.7 GB, you know? Is there any fix or work around for this?

Thanks for the clear instructions. The OS works fine, however when I try to pair the Chromecast w/Google TV remote it always fails. Other bluetooth devices work fine, is there any known cause for this?
Do you have an IR (infrared) module

I am connected to a TV display, not getting the device preference option..These are the options in the settings menu. Set your device name, Network & Internet, Privacy, Display & Sound, Apps, System, and Remote Accessories. The funniest thing is that doesn't matter which option I click, the network settings will pop up. Any idea? And the pi doesn't give me a display output to a computer monitor, even though the HDMI cable is well connected
Use the keyboard... When you use the keyboard this problem is resolved.

I don't understand how people are advertising the android tv on the pi, there is no hardware acceleration for encoding decoding, mean that it make it unmatchable and unusable to watch anything above 720 even some video bellow 720 can't play or don't play correctly due to the codec, so the pi4 is not a good solution until the hw acceleration is fixed, the rockpi is a better alternative for now

Hi. I am having difficulty connecting a usb keyboard. What possibility do I have to configure a Wi-Fi network by modifying the SD? Can something be added in config.txt related to wifi or can it be configured in another file? What exactly do I need to type to set the SSID and password? I am trying to use a cell phone with some remote control apk but it requires wifi network. Using the system with just the mouse is impossible. I have the same doubt to configure SSH or some alternative but I have run out of ideas. can you help me? Thanks
For a remote, you should buy one with a USB dongle, for keyboard, just plug it in, for Wifi network, you type it in by pressing keys on screen with the remote

Same here. Literally cannot find a single guide or even a mention of this problem other than this very comment. I think I originally downloaded a slightly newer version of the Lineage OS. I'm about to go back and download the exact one he shows in the video and see if anything changes.
Watching the video again, after he CLICKED on the settings wheel at the top, he started using the arrow keys on the wireless keyboard to navigate the menus. Not sure if that is the issue we are having? Anyway, I'm almost done flashing again. I'll report back if I figure it out.

Some OS'es Dont support USB booting. Lineage OS based android tV falls into that. Use High Speed SD Card.

I understand that Pis are not plug-and-play. In fact that's one of the things that makes them interesting to me. But I dont understand for the life of me how NONE of Konstakang's builds function at all in any updates from the past ~6 months. First attempt was about 6 months ago, and now Im trying again. All these tutorials that are actually very good to follow, dont work because the OS's updates are just glitched out un-useably in the past few months. 17.1 gets stuck on the backup page during setup. 18.1 Doesnt accept the arm gapps, only the arm64 and when you install it, it bricks. 19~ doesnt support gapps at all, and if you're hopeless and go back to 16~, it just flat out doesnt work at all. It's a shame.

Over clock improves the performance but GPU based hardware acceleration is must to stream 60 FPS content.

I did this tutorial with lineageOS 18 (Android11 TV) and it seems to work fine, for example youtube plays videos nicely, but I only see a limited set of applications in the Play Store. There's no Netflix (I know it's limited to SD on this device)... Did I miss something, how to make it appear?
netflix does not work.
Netflix is locked behind DRM alongside needing to pass safetynet. You're going to have to download a modified APK

Awsome content my friend. One suggestion, just a small one. While talking to mic or voiceovering keep your lips a bit more further than you do now. And then speak a bit louder. This will reduce the s- sp- sounds and the muffleness.

Try connecting to USB 2 Ports the Back Colour. And make sure the pendrive is formatted with FAT 32 File system.
