@@BunyipAttack I still can't watch this scene without shedding a tear. Just the most perfect moment of the entire show. If Jaime had to go out the way he did, they should have ended their arc with this, then fighting and surviving the battle together. Knighting her was way better than any sex scene could be anyway. Having the sex scene followed about 20 minutes later (show time) by Brienne sobbing in the courtyard seemed really shitty and unnecessary. They could have left those scenes out and just showed Jaime leaving after finding out the peril Cersei was in, and we'd have known exactly where he was going.
You have to understand why she was so hesitant at the beginning. She had been ridiculed and belittled all her life. And she's been tricked before as well. She's known nothing but betrayal. Her trust in Ser Jaime in that moment cannot be understated. And it paid off.
Unquestionably, one of the greatest scenes in the history of the show. Brianne is about the most "knightly" character in the entire saga and most deserving of the title.
Tormund clapping happily for her is pure love. He knows what being a knight means to her, although in his own culture there are no knights.
Brought tears to me eyes. It was so meaningful, and she looked so happy.
That smile at the end!! Just BEAMING. Never been so happy for our dear Brienne. And as much as I love the idea of her gettin' busy with Tormund, dude's game needs a lot of work before he can hope to win over someone with the intelligence and integrity of Brienne. Now I'm starting to really hope (with total futility, I'm sure) that she and Jaime recognize and profess their feelings for each other; their connection is so deep and genuine, and they have almost sacred love and admiration for one another. Here's hoping something comes of that. They both deserve way better than the hands they've been dealt thus far regarding love.
My favourite scene of the entire show. The smile on her face afterwards! I want a spin-off show. Brienne, The Hound and Tormund travel the world having adventures. Most of the time Podrick has to save the day.
One of the best parts of the show, if only the rest of season 8 could have been this good.

it really is moving to see her be knighted. i think one of the most moving parts is how she hesitates at first because she's probably thinking it's some kind of joke. but when it happens, she looks so happy
