Today we are checking out an Italian Style Hulk with a few twists. It's a diver that combines an unreal Mother of Pear Dial, with floating indices, and a tungsten bezel.

I'm one of those that much prefers an anodized aluminum bezel insert on a dive watch. I don't care if they get scratched, I just love that dull finish of an aluminum bezel. I do think the watch is attractive though. I think I'd like it more if it was scaled down to a 40mm case. Good review.

I loved it and love what the brand has been doing, however i have to agree with you on the fact of the prices…. It is hard to compite on that range with heavy opponents and that’s makes it a thought decision to go for a Venezianico.

Have to admit, love the dial, the case and the bezel. I do like the idea of a tungsten bezel. However I wouldn't buy it because if exceptional lume isn't applied to a diver that costs more than $500 it's a failure. That mother of pearl dial on a Presage style dress watch could be great. Brand and logo are very attractive.

I was also thinking about trying to get into Warhammer 40k, but I hate model paiting, so not sure that would work.

Warhammer 40k is $$$ I have heard MTG can be the same way but I think the buy in and cost maintenance is a lot more manageable since if you play for fun/casually and are not super competitive you don't end up needing or buying the expensive cards since Commander almost lets you use any card from the entire history of the game (and it has a rather small ban list).

Oh shut up, you had me at :32 with tungsten bezel. This is awesome already. The madreperla is flawlessly done, enough to be special, but muted enough to not be overly bling like a lot of MoP dials are. Love the case back, love the hands. Love it. I’d take this “hulk” over a Submariner any day. Seriously Rolex, Zelos did a whole watch in tungsten (!), and some obscure Italian micro can do a bezel in it (ideal, practical, limited use of that difficult-to-work material). Take note, Swiss majors. That said, the bracelet is stupid. Get it on a nice sailcloth or FKM strap and call it good.
And final note, I just happen to be wearing my CW Trident Elite, which I got on a presale special. I couldn’t afford one now because they’ve raised their prices by 25-40% in a year. So there’s that…

Beautiful Beautiful watch. But why you say no back play on the bezel when there is clear back play?

    • @RelativeTime
      @RelativeTime  11 місяців тому +1

Well with each bezel there is a little bit of space between the clicks. So when I'm turning it like I am on camera it's really hard to stop right after the click.. I'm always somewhere between the two.
So when I check for backplay I turn the bezel much slower and deliberately. Waiting until I feel / hear that click and immediately stopping. After that, I try turning it back to see how far it can go. Which I usually don't do on camera as it's slower and boring. People seem to be more interested in hearing the clicky action than anything else.

    • @shemanyk

There are also some very solid arguments that a 9015 is just as, and possibly better than a Selitta / ETA. In fact, I've had a couple brand owners tell me they prefer it as they think it's more reliable in the long run, so fewer watches are being sent back for service. It's just that it's not as expensive, so some automatically think it's "not as good".

I unfortunately disagree with you, it is the cheapest tungsten bezeled driver.
And as you said, the mother of pearl dial in this combination is not available in any other watch.
Their combination is more than unique in my opinion.
I agree with you though on the bracelet. They should have done a better job and a specific bracelet for this line of diver watches.
As for the selection being too confusing or have many choices I also respectfully disagree, they are providing a good selection of dive watches with very good dimensions and dial styles & finish, with the floating indexes, that gives a different take on other diver watches around that tend to imitate rolex or fail at perfecting their take on the dive watch category. At least in my opinion, coming from the point that the submariner is the perfect dive watch in dimensions, monotonous look & black lacquered dial.
If the size of these venezianico watches would be 40-41mm, it would have been prefect in my opinion.
Christopher ward has good quality watches, but I wouldn't say the c60 trident pro 300 is much better.
Tbh the tungsten bezel is so unique, it is a very solid selling point. As the next watch with such a bezel would be from Oris.. And it is 2000+€!
The only thing that would make or break the watch is the shade/hue of green it has.
It is very subjective tbh, i ordered one and also got the aventurine dial.
I wanted to buy the diver from Christopher ward but the price & thinner bezel of the c60 trident pro 300 which is much like the omega planet ocean rather than a bold & thicker bezel as in the previous iteration the pro 600, and also the watch is not monotonous, having a rather cheapish red color and an arrow and trident spear on the seconds hand.
Btw, I have the Mosu Black watch & the watch needs better anti reflection to appreciate the depth of the black dial.

@@RelativeTime first the it was too thick, because they actually used a movement with date but ghosted it ( u have that blind spot on the crown), wich is a cheap move imo. The antireflective coating is not there enough to enjoy the pure black, u rather have a mirror , wich destroys the idea in the first place right.
