My husband just dreads going to all that kind of stores, and I love it. And the other day I saw a video of someone say that many women go shopping like gatherers/explorers and a lot of men go like hunters. So we tend to browse through everything, and men just go for whatever kind of item they already know they want, without stopping to see if there is anything else that would be worth exploring. I don't know if it really is that prevalent, but it sure is for my husband and myself.
Nothing makes me so happy as getting a coffee and wandering around Barnes & Noble just looking at all the different books even if I don't buy anything😌

Oh Jess, I feel you about book stores. I try to buy from them especially from small local independent book stores, so they never close. I bought all my Christmas gifts at a small local bookstore last year and plan to do that again this year.
Thank you for posting this. I literally had the worst day with my oldest boy not wanting to go to 4th grade because he’s in a new building. I am a kindergarten aid in the lower building and he just moved up. It was such a sad hard day. This made me feel so cozy and happy🥰
My daughter is 34 and I can STILL quote “But Not the Hippopotamus “ by Sandra Boyntin. And yes, the pigeon books are awesome. My granddaughter loves them!
Me and my daughter have Shopping Saturdays. It started when she was in college and when she would come home on the weekends, we would just spend the day together hitting our favorite stores. TJ Maxx, Ross, Target, Nordstrom Rack etc. It has become a weekly thing, pretty much. Just out spending time together!! We don’t have to spend money but, we typically do 😂😂
It’s worth it to spend more and get the children’s sonicare toothbrush. My daughter (9) has used one since she was 3 and has never had a cavity. It’s less abrasive than the spinbrush type options and there is even an app to encourage brushing.

Thanks for this video Jess! It's had me thinking. It has been a really long time since I've had a me day. I have a son with special needs whose anxiety has been putting him through the wringer for several months now. It's been exhausting for us both. But even in times when i don't get a "me day", i still can always create "me moments". Something as simple as like right now, with him curled beside me, sipping a coffee and getting to enjoy your day out. It's being intentional about recognizing the happy moments and being grateful for them that gets me through the rough times. I know so many people feel the same way in their various circumstances, so again just thank you. Keep shining friend! What you do matters!

I needed this video, I work EMS and we do 24 hour shifts. I’ve been in a funk lately feeling like all I do is work come home, Take care of my daughter and do housework. I’ve been saying how I want to do a midday and this really got me thinking about it more.
