I'm eager to start woodworking. Saw your video after checking these out at Home Depot and decided to look elsewhere. I really appreciate your effort and insight. Thanks for the guidance!
Dewalt, black and decker, MAC and several other brands are all owned by Stanley I believe. I'd say the blades are old Stanley patterns and the handles are chinesium. Be interesting to see how you go with that.
Did I see a George Jones album on your bench? For the price, Narex makes a good chisel and is commonly found in 3/8in and 5/8in. They are more of a cabinet maker's chisel as they taper to a nice thin point though youu can still find one in my tool belt on the job site.
Hi there, Your films are brilliant, and love your attitude? No fannying about - great for me! You would make a good 'Brummie' (where Black Sabbath come from). Check out the Stanley Contractor Chisels, as they have been with me for donkeys, and are top class and easy to sharpen! The Dewalt are tinny and weasely. Keep up entertaining me (any many others)!!! John
You can still get high end tools... but you are going to pay for it. Also I have personally taken a destroyed Kobalt (in pieces) back to lowes and they gave me a new one no questions asked. The downside china, the upside new tool if it breaks.
30 degree secondary bevel gives you a stronger edge and means you have to take off less material so you shrpen your chisels faster. Also for God's sake stop using your hand or arm to test sharpness, find another test.

i fell asleep waiting for your story to end
Me too, I fell asleep twice. This guy is more of a historian than carpenter.
Hey from the UK here, and yes these are UK chisels but most likely the steel has been imported in. They are becoming very popular in the UK.
yes Dewalt are made in Sheffield but not from Sheffield Steel
I got about 4 different pairs of chisels and these ones came pretty sharp a lot sharper than the other ones
Great review! I'm your 200th subscriber :) thanks for the good content.

What in your opinion are the best wood chisels?
Hi. For your strop, rough side up or down? Do you condition the strop before adding the green compound? If so, with what.
I think "global components" means Chinese steel.
my ox chisels came pre sharpened and ready to use straight away

A 51 minute review of your "initial impression " of a 4pc. chisel set ? Self important much ?
