- Today I've compiled a list of 10 Underrated Comic Book Omnibus Editions from both Marvel and DC Comics. These are recommendations you may not see on everyone's Omnibus recommendations lists but I think they're definitely worth the look!

What are your favorite omnibus editions? 📚📚📚
Batman no man’s land all 3 volumes, Batman eternal, and Batman by grant Morrison volume 1. I know there is a theme but I don’t own that many omnibus.

@@TheComicBookReport I say you definitely should read all 3 stories, I know No man’s land is no longer cannon but I still believe it is amazing stories big Batman fans should read

JL new 52 is one of my all time favorites. Awsome. Planetary is very cool too. My Soule’s and Brubaker ‘s DD omni’s are also on that list. Maybe my Doctor Aphra omni too… I haven’t read my Annihilation omni. But I have high expectations. 😉

@@TheComicBookReportI love Star Wars and I’m very interested in archeology. So this is right up my alley.
She’s really charismatic. A very ambiguous character. I like it that she’s in this grey zone: not good, not bad. You can see her evolve throughout the stories but I will not spoil too much.
There are also a lot of cool new characters being introduced like her droids. Especially Trip. 👏🏻

Rise and Fall of the Batmen was my first omnibus and it's my favorite Batstory. Hands DOWN.
I’ve never read Bat stories quite like it! That omnibus has really gotten me to care about bat-family characters I didn’t always like before ha 😂🦇
I find it hard to determine what "underrated" means within the context of mainstream comics. I love most of your list. The only exceptions are FF by Millar (I can't stand Millar and his sort of teenager-y masculine stuff) and Claremont EX-X (he bores me once we get past the 70's and 80's stuff). Would "The Question" be considered an underrated omni? If so, I'll add that to the list. Fun video.
That’s totally fair! I think when I use underrated I think in terms of “deserving of more credit” :)
And I think question should absolutely be on this list! I think those who have read that run generally love it, but I think it could use a bigger audience…definitely a gem 💎👍
Man, just finished the Planetary Omnibus last week. And yes, it is dope. The allegories as well as the different analogues of characters like the FF and Pulp and Noir Characters from the 30s or 40s, really had me digging this book. Plus, Jakita Wagner. 🔥 El Fuego.

I just bought the first 3 paperbacks of the new 52 Justice League and I forgot how fun those comics were. I think because the New 52 failed overall, this run has been forgotten. But it was big, loud and action packed. Really could have been the basis for a DCEU Justice League.

Rise and Fall is amazing. I love stories about the Batfamily, and their relationship to Batman.
Secret Wars is awful though, wouldn't recommend that to anyone but the nostalgic reader who was there for its initial release.
Rise and Fall is easily one of my favorite Bat-Family books ever 💯🦇

My rationale (and admittedly it may not have been great) was that I feel like not enough people mention that Detective Comics run particularly with all the popularity of Tynion, and it’s such a gem.
For JL I just feel like I’m still hearing from so many people that just really dislike the new 52 era and I’m here like 🫢😱 haha.

Planetary is one of my 5 favorite comic book runs of all time. I think what made it so amazing is that you could read many of the issues as one and done stories, but then Ellis would call back to something from 10 issues ago and you realized that everything mattered. Jakita Wagner is a great character as well. Wish Ellis had done another story with her as the protagonist.

For me the Lucifer omnibus, American Vampire omnibus, Super Sons omnibus and ofcourse Mike Grells Green Arrow omnibus.
I’ve had a lot of people recommend Supersons to me, I may need to check it out eventually

@@TheComicBookReport sticking with the omnibus editions route, I'd say Gotham City Sirens, Nancy Collins Swamp Thing (people over blow the Tefe context out of proportions, and she did a really good job with keeping the gothic horror or Moore and Veitch) Ex Machina, and maybe JLI or Batman 66

Justice league new 52 underrated? Mate that run is one of the most overhyped runs ever 😅, there’s trades, hardcovers, absolute, omnibus, there’s a lot of editions of JL new 52 😅 i would love if DC makes a collected edition of JLA of Brad Meltzer or JL detroit 😅

I think I meant more I feel like it’s not held in the same regard as some of the other JL runs but I sort of love it 😂
