I got the Instinct 2X Solar. Even with the multiband GPS tracking for about 90 minutes a day for exercise in 6 days I used 17% battery. The solar actually works quite well on it. And the flash light is actually useful. On really sunny days where you are out a while you can tell when you have gotten more sun then you need to charge it because the time goes to ∞. If I haven't used any GPS thats at 80k luxhours, with gps tracking for 60-90 minutes its around 150k lux hours to have lost zero charge. The 2X is alot larger then the 2 and 2S, worthwhile with the $30 price difference if you have a wrist large enough for it.
You can get over 30 days, you need to turn off pulse ox sensor and the multi band GPS, you dont need either of these features unless you at high alltitude
For better battery life you should to turn off SPO2 meter (it is very inaccurate) and also change interval of measuring heart rate and I found out, that if you will change watchface and set the one with lighter background and dark letters / numbers you will get 5 more days.... ;-)
28 days battery life is possible when it's not in the smartwatch mode and it's getting enough sunlight thought the day. When in smartwatch mode it's about 15-17 days without much solar energy.
I absolutely agrees to the reality over fact that it doesn’t go till 28 days. I has never did in my case too. In my case, I do receive a lot of notifications due to my nature of job, and taking all these in consideration, it goes till 15 days or 17 (MAX) without solar. However, even solar panel onto my watch has not helped that much. I have owned the original instinct and that watch, to my surprise, stayed near to its claim but not the upgraded one-which is instinct 2 in my case. I was planning to go for 2x but these incorrect battery claims are actually holding me back to my instinct 2.
Turn the brightness down and turn the duration on of the brightness to 4 seconds, and get rid of the seconds and you will see a vast improvement in battery life 😊
Imagine all the time you wasted not charging the watch because you were trying to push it’s battery to the limits, and then when it didn’t last as long as you thought it would you complain about it not being charged.
Too small the screen is cluttered, so you can barely see it and the backlight is useless. Also overly complicated, too much bs, you’ll never use. Give me 14 days of battery life for a watch I can actually see. Also what’s the point discussing the app it’s the same for all the watches. Guy obviously got a free watch in return for a generic review.
pluse ox is pretty battery hungry feature so maybe this is a problem with battery life
I really hope I’m getting one for Christmas.

The price difference between the 2s and the 2X where I live is closer to €200

Do you recieve notifications on the surf edition? Is there also a mini map like the regular?

Maybe 28 days of battery life is possible without being connected to the phone, I guess 🤔

That doesn’t really make sense.
@@DriftLibraryHaha, I agree.
saving activity also takes time
How did you get the tidal graph up there, I can't find it when I customise a similar watchface and can't find it on IQ store.😢
This is probably the Surf version that focuses on tides. Maybe there is an app. on Connect IQ store though.
My garmin 2s solar only stay alive for 1 weeks so sadly doesn't really stay longer perhaps I seldom put thwm outdoor.😂
My Instinct 2 can work 21 days
Sorry drives me nuts, but there has never been anything called an iWatch. It’s Apple Watch. I know it’s silly, just drives me nuts.
Yeah, its silly....
Your right, that it’s a petty comment. 😂😂
You could’ve said “iNuts”
There actually is something called a watch it’s cheap nick off Apple Watch
