Well losing to a top doubles team with a match being this much close is no shame whatsoever. It takes time to jell as a cohesive doubles team. You cannot right away strike Gold. For such a casuals doubles team like Novak and Kyrgois, this is a very honorable defeat.
Doubles require very different decision making and shot selection. It's a skill that needs to be developed for years. Singles quality is not too relevant there. Whoever is ridiculing them for losing is a clown and should watch WWE instead.

@@David-u2dnot really. Honestly Novak is pretty average (and by far the worst of the big3 playing doubles). Roger and Rafa were better, because they were much more decisive with the volleys, forehands and passing shots. The olympic golds and M1000 titles or Slam semifinals prove me right.
@@pablolb3240 How are you so confident while being wrong? None of the Big 3 are exceptionally good at playing doubles, since they rarely do it. But they're all able to do it quite well (much better than average, since they're just good at tennis). I wouldn't say Djokovic is by far the worst of the big 3. If you look at the results, Djokovic has done pretty well at doubles when teaming up with guys like Wawrinka and Fognini. Even here he did well since they almost beat the #1 seeded team, while randomly partnering with Kyrgios for the first time in his career.
Who would’ve thought this combo of Djokovic and Kyrgios would play so well. Kyrgios has a tendency to disrespect players lower than himself so his obsequiousness probably helped with the balance and to follow Djokovic’s lead. The volley skills of top doubles team is unbeatable.
Novak really needs to learn more about the doubles game. His central returns and unnecessary change of direction is not needed with 2 players on court!
que bueno es ver de vuelta a Kyrgios un crack infravalorado y un show para el deporte algo que hace mucha falta para volver a generar alta expectación por el deporte!
Funny how people say Djokovic needs to learn how to play doubles. He knows exactly all the tactics, but muscle memory of over a 1000 matches playing singles is hard to change and therefore he will hit returns down the middle often.
Good run for Djokgios. You can clearly see the difference in tactical strategy between great singles players and great doubles players. Return of serve is crucial, Nick and Nole kept wanting to go at the body of their opponent and ended up losing a lot of points. Doubles players' hands are too good for that.
Dear Djokovic, what did you want to prove by playing with Kyrgios, the worst player I could have chosen, whose only talent is to vomit malice and envy, a terrible example for sport, Kyrgios should be excluded from all tennis tournaments in the world
