'Zorawar Has All Modern Capabilities, Power To Weight Ratio Is More Than 30', Says L&T Defence VC

- The Defense Research and Development Authority (DRDO) conducted its first test on the light battle tank Zorawar in Hazira in Gujarat on Saturday.
It is built to meet the Indian Army's requirements in the eastern Ladakh sector against Chinese deployment across the Line of Actual Control (LAC). The tank has been jointly developed by DRDO and Larsen & Toubro.

It's not with 155 mm calibre main gun but it's power with 105 mm calibre main gun
It is ok. Congrats. At the same time, India should make tanks/weapons that reduces Human casualties, like that happened at Ladakh one army tank mishap we lost our soldiers while crossing the river. Make such tanks that won't cause Human casualties either during war or off the war.

Considering India's shambles military industry, represented by the Arjun tank and Tejas fighter jet, there is a high possibility that this light tank project will also fail. The only cases in which India's military industry has been exceptionally successful are the BrahMos missile, which received technical support from Russia, and the K9 self howitzer, which was produced in India with technical support from S.Korea.

It is joke. They have put some corrugated sheets on sides and fixed some cannon on the turret.
@@Braveheart1502 Those are not corrugated sheets, they are active spaced armour for APFSDS similar to Leopard 2 tanks. Type 15 has thin cheap steel sheets on its side.
Zorawar is only lighter than Chinese type-15. Except light weight and agility there are no advanced features in the tank to counter China. Chinese type-15 has lots of advanced features using which tank can be operated remotely.
There is lot to do on this front. not much to celebrate.
This is just a prototype calm down, lots of features will be integrated on it which will increase weight. Its important to start with light weight prototype first, otherwise what the use of calling it light.

Its not meant for you to fall in love with, marry and have kids. Its a warmachine.
Function over form. In some instances both are satisfied eg: Stealth aircraft
