- Diese Produktion war sehr aufwendig, ein großes Set, irgendwo in London. Über die Nachbearbeitung weiß ich leider wenig, auch nicht wer den Thron, das schöne Nixen-Kostüm und die Perücke gebastelt hat. Veröffentlicht am 21.03.1989. Regie und Kamera: Anton Corbijn. Produzent: Richard Bell. Mit Wolfgang Glum, Beckmann, Rodrigo Gonzalez und Katharina Franck. Dieses Rainbirds - Video hat im MTV Ende der 80ziger Jahre Spuren hinterlassen.
Was für eine großartige Stimme Katharina Franck hat. Wann immer ich ihre Lieder höre, bedaure ich, dass sie nicht den ganz großen Erfolg hatte, der ihrem Talent eigentlich gebührte.

Ausnahme-Stimme, tolles Songwriting, klasse Produktion. Einer meiner Lieblingssongs ihres zweiten Albums "Call me easy, say I'm strong...". Hab es damals sehr bedauert, als sie sich aufgelöst haben. Waren zusammen mit den Jeremy Days Ende der 80er Jahre DIE große deutsche Hoffnung für "international" beständigen Pop. ZURECHT! ❤

Living in Belgium, 1989/90. Saw this on (very early) satellite TV, I was blown away. Then I discovered they were playing in Saarbrucken the next day. Drove for hours to the gig, fabulous!
Still a very nice pop song, it never gets old! Katharina Frank is a gifted singer and songwriter.

I don't know. I visited my German cousins one summer amd she bought this album. Every song was great. Frank is an excellent singer.songwriter whose music I've sought out now for over 20 yrs. They made quite.the impression on me!
I've been searching for this song so long, never imagined it would be on YT. Wish both Rainbirds albums would be available again. Magical music!

yes, i also loved this song (and still listen to it ferquently), in fact the whole album as well as the long title of the album is just great: Call Me Easy, Say I’m Strong, Love Me My Way, It Ain’t Wrong (i guess back then it was the longest album titel ever :-)

Einer der sonnigsten Rainbirds-Songs und ein Höhepunkt des "Call me easy ..."-Albums. Aber das Video - kaum zu glauben, wie vorsintflutlich einem dieser Fischteich vorkommt. Damals war das hip - heute wirkt es wie aus einer anderen Welt. Es waren noch die Gründungsjahre der Musikvideos. Heutzutage würde man vermutlich pro Sekunde mehr Special Effects und Bites verwenden als damals im ganzen Song.
Starkes Lied ,in einer sehr schweren Zeit damals.Bewegt mich sehr 🫶💯💪
Heute mit digitaler Nachbearbeitung ein Klacks - damals eine Herausforderung. Immer noch sehr stark - sowohl der Song als auch das Video.

Auch auf die Gefahr hin, mich total lächerlich zu machen: Das Album ist die beste Platte, die ich habe! Seit Jahrzehnten! Und ich habe viele (anno dazumal bis dato; A-Ha über Bach, Capital Bra, Daniela Mercury, Lemmy und Slipknot bis Zeppelin).
Ich erinnere mich noch daran, als ich sie zum ersten Mal hörte. Da klickte nichts. Fehlkauf? Die besten Dinge im Leben kommen manchmal nicht von selbst. Man muss sie sich erarbeiten. Euer Album "Sea of Time" und der gleichnamige Song haben mich die ganze Zeit begleitet. Es ist die musikalische Liebe meines Lebens und ich wünsche mir sehnlichst, dass wir zusammen bleiben. DANKE!

This song was championed by the new trendy fm station in Mcr. Piccadilly radio spilt it's broadcast frequencies 1152 am and 103 fm. David Dunne I think was music or the programme controller. Key 103 failed to find the audience it was launched to capture.
It did however introduce an 18 year old me to loads of different music including this ace track!

À cette époque il y avait tant d’artistes, tant de créations musicales dans différentes styles, pop, rock, jazz, ça explosait de partout, c’était fantastique !
Avant d’acheter les disques peu connus, car pas diffusés, il fallait les écouter au casque chez notre disquaire, c’est comme ça que j’ai découvert Rainbirds
La voix de Katharina a sublimé ce titre somptueux !
