Just like Dāv, unfortunately-when he dipped his head to grab his sunglasses you could see the bald spot :/ Dāv, you’re so tall that no one will see the bald spot now, but long hair stresses the follicles! You need to change your hair style to prevent (or slow) further hair loss. I know hair is so important to the sense of self, but to quote India Arie, you are not your hair.
Thank you for this video. More videos of lemurs need to clarify that they do not make good pets and emphasize how critically endangered they are. Many people who specialize in lemur care argue that videos and pictures of humans and lemurs together shouldn't be taken because it gives people the wrong idea - - that they're less endangered than they actually are.
@@dtxspeaks268 They can be, yes. At the zoo where I volunteer we kept a male black and white ruffed lemur who I knew for about 10 years. He seemed to really like me, coming out to greet me in the morning and often just hanging out with me. But during their annual mating season the gloves came off and he would always try to bite me. One day he jumped on my back as I was squatting down to tie my shoes and he started to bite me and beat me up. Around the end of January when the mating season ended he started to behave normally again. Imagine keeping an animal like that in your house. Around *children*. But hey, I guess for some people a dog just isn't good enough 😏
I wholeheartedly agree with thee in that lemurs (and primates overall) should never be kept as pets nor treated as if they were pets, and that they should never be kept in cages of any kind at all. I think that they should only be kept in the wild, in natural reserves, national parks, and research kernels with huge forests that ape their own natural environments, such as the Duke Lemur Center. Lastly, I think that one should befriend a lemur rather than taming them, and that befriending should be done at the wild or at the Duke Lemur Center's forest, where the lemurs are free roam at a huge land and one can visit them as a friend, not as a pet.
Yeah, as soon as I saw how fast they moved, I *immediately* thought "Yeah, they're cute! But definitely more fit to be friends with from a distance." Glad to know my instinct was right! They ARE very cute though, and I hope they're doing well

I’ve seen some people have ringtails in their house (on youtube). How do they use the “bathroom” if kept in the house? I get it…….. It’s youtube that can be condescending. Just wanting the facts of ringtails in particular
They "cannot be potty-trained, and coming into contact with their feces can expose humans to a wide variety of pathogens, including those associated with hookworms, whipworms, giardia, and salmonella. They also mark their territory with glandular secretions described as “pungent.”" UA-camrs are great at making owning wild animals fun...but it's a lot harder than people think :/
Diapers, or they're just sick people who let them make a mess wherever. don't ever consider having one as a pet. They're endangered and do not make good pets. If you care about their future, then donate and support organizations that work towards restoring their population in Madagascar.
Clearly a vicious animal. I was attacked by a ring tail. It stood on my back and head as every lady in the park came to pet it. My wife thinks I planned it.
So when the lady talked about the deer cleaning up Dave's mess does that mean they eat his poop? He kind of smiled when she said it but she wasn't very clear on what she meant by that. So I'm the one that's. So I'll ask the question you the deers clean up by eating Dave's poop? Bye
@@DavKaufmansAdventures it was a tough question but I needed to ask. I'm always the one to ask the questions that everyone else wants to ask but they're too chicken. So I asked for everybody. I know it's a gift. I love your channel Dave. Thank you for replying to me
12 minutes? Däv, are you kidding me? How can you make the kjootest video of all times only 12 minutes long? And what the hell is wrong with people, humans that is. Who would keep these amazing sweethearts alone and indoors? Why do they have to be so selfish and cruel? I mean it is obvious to immediately fall madly in love with them, but that means, caring for them and seeing to it, that they have the absolute best life possible! Thanks for introducing us to this lovely lady and her gorgeous, gorgeous sweetie pies!
Lemurs are bipolar I tell people. Especially ringtails. We have one that his owner fixed him like he was a cow with a rubberband. He did tear his ear off....
I understand you are trying to discourage people from owning an exotic animal, put from personal experience some of this is highly inaccurate. Those "red" ruffed lemurs are actually tricolor (mixed with black and white ruffeds) as indicated by the white patch on their neck. True reds are red and black only. We have both, and 1 of our male black and white ruffed lemurs actually IS indoors. He is the sweetest damn animal I have ever seen, THE REASON he is indoors away from his "own kind" is because first off he was a rescue, and second "his own kind" tried to kill him. They tore him apart including biting his tail off. So instead of those long, gorgeous, black tails they all have, his is half that long. Anytime we have tried to slowly introduce him to the other lemurs, THATS when he shows aggression- towards THEM. Because he is afraid. He can't even be around other animal enclosures without shaking like a leaf. We tried to give him an enclosure of his own next to the others and he was constantly shaking, lost half his fur, and stopped eating all together because he was that stressed out.. So he stays inside with us through the winter until he can go out into his own special enclosure this spring/ summer. The poops are absolutely the nastiest. You just have to stay on top of cleaning out his indoor cage, the same way you would any other animal you have indoors. He can also wear diapers and enjoys LOTS of cuddles and armpit scratches 🥰 he has all the monkey biscuits he can eat, fresh fruits and veggies, and I love having him as a companion. I dont use the word "pet", because my little Maltese is like my child to me. When it comes to lemurs, the females are dominant, not the males. Don't group them all together as being aggressive. When females hit maturity and can have offspring, thats when you need to be careful.
If you cared about these critically endangered animals you wouldn't buy them for your own selfish purposes. You would support organizations in Madagascar that work towards increasing their native population. Lemurs are not pets. Primates are not pets. Shame on you.
@@panterxbeats what would you suggest I do? Throw them back into the wild? I said it was a rescue. No money was spent on any of the lemurs I mentioned. I'm no longer in a relationship with the person who provides sanctuary for them anyway, but what I got was an amazing experience to be up close and personal with these amazing creatures. I do care about them, and literally provided care FOR them 🙂 have a nice day
