Just Happened! China Encircles Taiwan with Military Drills
There are growing tensions between China and Taiwan. China just held military drills around Taiwan after Taiwan's new president gave a speech calling for peace and independence. China sees Taiwan as a rebellious province and these drills are seen as a way to intimidate Taiwan. Taiwan's government is worried but says it is committed to defending its sovereignty. The international community is also concerned about the situation and is urging both sides to de-escalate.
