Sony, because it’s Sony.

Hi Steve! I see slot of reviews between the Hisense u7k and u8k, but i can’t find a review of a u6k vs u7k. I live in Canada and the u68km (u6k with mini led) is 200$ cheaper from the u78km (u7k with mini led) and I know there is a difference between the variable refresh rate and dimming zones but I would love to see them side by side.
Is it possible for you to do it??
Thanks Steve, love your videos btw! ❤
have you noticed how unbelievably bad sound today's LG oled screens have compared to LG LCD 15 years ago? LG lcd actually had pretty good sound! Lg oled does NOT have good sound!!!!
The only way to use a sound board is to hang the screen on the wall! No space under the screen otherwise
Finally pulled the trigger and bought 65inch U8H for 610 open box at BB excellent condition but looks new with original box. This tv is seriously bright have to turn down the back light to 50 and still bright. Watching Netflix movie is amazing using film maker mode!!!!!sounds is crazy good!!
Great comparison video, thanks Steve.!!!!👏👏
Thanks Mr Steve! I Learnt heaps!
Great review! I love how direct you are. No filler just great iseful info! Im not so worried about the color differences since im sure the differences narrow when the hisense is calibrated. I only wish you tested the dark room viewing for them. The hisense has way more dimming zones and my guess is it would have less blooming in dark scenes or dark scenes with subtitles. Also how they perform in shadow detail in darker scenes. Looking forward to more of your videos!
Great video Steve😊
Thanks Tech Steve. That was a very helpful review. Since the 55" U8K is $400 cheaper than the Sony right now I think I will go with the Hisense.
Bonjour ! Pouvez-vous faire Sony vs TCL c935 ? Merci.
Even though it's not a mini led tv, the Sony picture processing does it for me. I do wish you could move the feet in.
Or just wall mount it. Hide wires behind wall. Much cleaner look.
Nice video keep up the good work Tech Steve
Thank you for the comparisons between these 2 . I’m thinking about getting the U8K 100” after watching your video !
Hi Steve! I’m your opinion, does which tv has has a stronger “soap opera effect” when activated? Also does the x90L blooming stand out all that much? Everyone at home liked the subtitles on for everything so blooming is a factor for me. Thanks!
Use streaming services and you want even notice that, usually that happens with low quality sources. I haven’t even seen it
Great Review Steve, I can tell you really like Hisense (its impossible not be biased, we are just human) but you were professional and honest and you gave Sony the crown because in the end color reproduction and fidelity is superior. thanks!!!
I’m really not, I have reviewed so many TV that i don’t even think of it that way. I film and tell what I see. If it’s good it’s good, if it has room for improvement that’s the way I tell it. You would have to film 700 videos to get numb to it
Please compare samsung qn 90c vs hisense u8k 75 or 85 inch models
Steve have you ever done a review on backlight "Govee" etc? Thanks
I haven't
U really cant go wrong with any of them VERY smeller an the same in price wise sale like in blk Friday...but personally i choice U8K...is a bit brighter an Sony, with more feathers ,better in blks, better in TV speakers & top of all is Mini led👍
HEY man thanks ALOT for all these comparison videos, make it easy which one to buy by blk Friday & which one is the BEST Budget TV of the year 😘✌
What TV looks best not using the built-in operating system?
Will you do it have you done soundbar versus?
Specifically, the 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos versions like Hisense 7.1.2 (US120GW+) 570Watts soundbar, the Vizio 5.1.2 M series elevate and or the LG, TCL soundbars of same spec.
Sorry I don’t have random equipment
Hi Steve, great video. I have heard the U8K sound and I like it a lot probably because of the subwoofer. But I own a X90L and sound is too flat like only treble . I have tried several adjustments on the X90 L but no luck, any advice?
Yes, get a Soundbar TV speaker will never be great
Subbed. Great content!

I am in Canada too, and I have 2 Hisense. Get the U7. --Significant Difference. Both 2022 2023 U7 are going to be amazing. 2023 U78KM is like Significantly PREMIUM than MOST even Big 3 TVs. EVEN u get $2500 OLED will look worse on bright SUNNY day. 🎉
My good buddy got U7H 65” last yr, he’s in PEI loved d hell of his tv.
D MINI LED-Technology is BEST for 300-400 + local Dimming zones. AT least.
For example, 2021 U8G -380 local dimming 1600nit VA -QLED panel(not mini led) , will still look MUCH better than 2023 U68KM -200 local dimming 600nit VA -MINI LED QLED panel. Because we need Peak /dark /in between shades to make visual 3D shape. The lack of peak bright color can look LESS snappy , dim visual.
Do Do Do the U7K. Seriously , its going to be Signifiant UPgrade from 6. It will match CLOSE to Samsung S90C (1000-1100nit) peak luminance, n it will have like around : 380 for 55” n 500 for 65” Local dimming. In a day time like today Toronto, bright sun. U dont have to have “BLACK Curtain” block sun like OLED require ppl do live in cave life style) in order to see Crisp visual (Dim TV at day time looks dark n gooey soup)
For example, the U6 will look like iPhone 7s iphone 8 screen around 500-600nits. Still beautiful, but Lack off the BRIGTHNESS, u will have harder time to see it when lights on indoor. U7 is around (tested up to 1200nit) its more like iphone 11pro-iphone 12pro, around 1200nit. QUITE nice n Bright, crisp OUTDoor. . That’s like SO NICE< Major UPGRADE. U8 is around 1500-2100(tested) nit peak, its as Bright as iPhone 14PRO (2000nit peak). It’s Bright doesn’t mean it’s Blooming, its just mean MORE crisp bright in sunny day, dim it down in evening. It’s adjustable.
GET d -U78KM. Seriously. I have 1100nit Hisense previous flagship from 2 yrs ago . ITs NO KIDDING. So worth it if only $200. If u order on -Visions site. U can upgrade n pay within 3 months slowly. They charge like $25 processing fee. But worth it. Let them deliver . TV needs to sit up right, not flat in delivery. 😊
Hisense U6H or Toshiba 350LP? Which one is better?
U8k v X95l? Love the vids man, great format.

I'm definitely getting the U8K for my Xbox series X.
Regards from Malaysia.
I just got the 85inch U8K a few days ago and hooked it up to my series x. Beautiful the only thing I would change is the brightness in gaming mode to be slightly brighter when maxed brightness. Maybe 5-10% brighter in gaming mode.
Hi @Steve,
Thank you for putting up this comparison video. It was really informative.
I am still confused between the U8K and X90L.
I mostly use my TV for gaming on PS5 and it is a really bright room.
The specs of U8K are definitely better but Sony is a more trusted and reliable brand.
What TV would you suggest? For gaming in a Bright room?
Thanks so much!
Sony TV is LCD while the Hisense is Mini LED
They're both LCD Tvs. Mini Led is simply a type of backlight system
Steve, I picked up the U8K 75" which has the ADS Pro panel. Can you do a video on the defference between the different types of panels?
Lol, I wish i had every model and size
You mentioned the demos you used are good for testing, how can I get those? Would you be able to list them?
@techstevetestingvideos is where you can find my old ones but new ones are on my personal server
@@TechSteve thank you 👍
From your shots and tests the colors look RACIDALLY better on Sony. The white looked white- the skin tones looked like how they should.. I was convinced just by that.
The U8K in the video pushes green. It's an easy fix, but def not quite as good OOTB in color accuracy
@@paulcox2447wtf, he has tv set to --THEATRE NIGHT MODE--MAKES it Immediately VERY GREEN😢i just TRIED my Hisense on THEATRE mode. It goes from Crisp white light , to everything GREEN😮
He has Black level UN touched at 50% off. It needs to turn down 10-20% to look oled. 😮(so u tell me u can OUT OF BOX TOUCHING NOTHING, but did NOT calibrate ,but made all the “necessary” things change to look like WORSE than OUT OF BOX 📦 😮😮😮😮
N 9:39 Contrast --SET to 38%🤬 thats unheard OF!!!! ALL gammers, make TV Contrast go UP, NOT lower.
I just tried on my 65” Hisense that made my TV look worse than 2015 TV Gummy green, gooey soup. 😮
Click his description , he “SELLS” TVs. I literally turned on a night WALK LED tv screen. N made my tv crisp, he knows what he’s doing. He never exposed what HIGH contrast he did with SONY, n Black light level.
B.S ..U8K more brighter , more dimming zones, more feathers, better in Tv speakers & sound, better inky blks & top of that is Mini led ..I'm getting 85/U8K by blk Friday!
@@paulcox2447 It still leans into green even after calibration as seen in one of Quantum TV's videos (and in my opinion he makes the U8K look WAY better than any other UA-camr has shown us)
That's because the Sony has a true 10-bit panel
The green tint we see on the U8K sometimes in the whites, or the sky, it it just the camera or is it noticeable in real life ?
No brand is better than Sony for real colors, especially the skin ones. Forget about the over saturated colors that others have!
I think to much is made of Nits. Unless your living on the sun I think its nice to have a bright tv but not at the cost of depth and overall image. If you oversaturate, you lose detail. Strong coloring pops to look at but you lose fine details. It just washes out on the QLEDs. So picture, or color? If youre like me and you cant decide, then which ones handle motion better? Motion blur is my BIGGEST pepeeve in tvs. Even cheap tvs can create a great “picture” but tvs play videos not still pictures.
At 10:13, it's like night and day. The Sony has more 3d and color pop almost as good as my projector.
Hi , again !! I was thinking the other day and was trying to figure out what the next display technology will be . We have had plasma / then LED , then full array LED , now full - mini LED , & OLED . It seems like OLED is not going anywhere , but what about LED based ? Side note , is Samsung slowly trying to go all OLED ? Later , D
It’s all personal preference, I’m using mini led and I finally got my hands on a newer OLED that I can’t talk about but I’ll see if i like it for a personal TV in the next few months. I’m so use to 1500 plus nits before they just seemed dark to me
Enjoy !! A newer OLED ?? Just think , new tech !! what will they think of next ! LOL@@TechSteve
Seems like the contrast on the Hisense is better.
hisense is the future ,this is a huge honor review for the new comer compete on the technology market
with my experience for hisense and sony in Hong Kong, sony could work for many years , never regret on picture quality with sustainable, customers service is better. Hisense worked for a year only, panel seems good in the begin but panel changed color after a year, service with a lot of excuse. Sorry for Hisense, I am a Sony bias.
Yes you are biased. They both make good TVs, and Hisense has better price. I personally love Sony, but I have owned both and no complaint at all.
The sony pony
Debating between these two in the 75” for my basement “man cave”. I like Hisense and bought the 55” U8H for my living room mainly for its brightness since it gets bright in there, a have a few older Sony’s and they’re champs and this video pretty much sold me on the X90L since I don’t really need to worry about too much light in my basement. The Sony just looks a bit more accurate.
It is
I got the Hisense U8K 55" inside my garage gym and it's a very good tv. You're getting a lot of bang for the money.
What would you guys recommend. This sony x90l or the Samsung qned 80 ?
Depends on what you will be using the TVs for. I would personally go with Sony for gaming as their local dimming has better processing than Samsungs when it comes to game mode. Sony has more natural color tones while Samsung may look more vibrant
I got the x90l it does look more natural and I do like it.@@almir908
Considering the Sony x90l is $1000 and lcd while the hisesne u8k is $900 and mini led for the 65 inches version but the Sony is a more reliable brand . which one is better for now ?
Hisense is way better deal.
You gotta put on "match content" on the apple tv to so that HDR/DV works on the Apple TV
I have 3 Apple TVs so i understand what you’re saying but my HDMI splitter had issues and I just moved on because ecause SDR worked without issue with 2 TVs
just what I was waitin 4. the hisense seems a bit oversaturated. sony looks dim on some shots and some others, it looks natural

Hey Steve. Awesome content, you definitely gained a sub from me.. Would like to know your opinion on the u8k vs the Sony 65X85K. The xl90 is out of my price bracket as it's like $600 more expensive than the 65" u8k...
I made a video on both Sony, the X90L all the way for me
@@TechSteve thx. Decided to go with a 50" Samsung qn90c, got it at a pretty good price. And then for my lounge a 65" u8k. Pretty decent price on it as well..
75 inch u8k vs 75 inch x90l for basement with only a patio door opposite the tv? Need some help please, they are 100$ different in price
Which one did you get?
I think folks will get sucked into bright colors look. Thing is you want color accuracy and depth of image quality. The Sony is kind of old when it comes to tech, but you can see the accuracy out of the box is definitely there. It definitely isn't as bright as the Hisense which seems like a knock against it but when you watch the output on each displaying saturated images the Sony doesn't look like the colors are glowing outside their respective positions. Skin tones looked closer to real on the Sony, while the Hisense had this greenish tint on neutral, which would throw off all color accuracy across the board. Perhaps calibration might mitigate this, the inputs on the Hisense are better and the breadth of options and high end HDMI spec really make it very appealing. No idea what Sony is doing considering they have a popular gaming division, their TV's should be second to none when it comes to game related additions to their TV's.
For color accuracy I'd go with Sony, but for gaming the Hisense would instantly get the nod. Sony needs to get the gaming guys to design their TV's as i think the TV guys have lost the plot.
d setting up Hisense ONLY TAKES 10 Seconds. It doesn’t TAKE expert to set it up. I walked into store with husband, took me 10 seconds to grab remote to Make 75” U8K look like OLED black, QD OLED pop.
HE had it on : THeatre mode. (Dim green/yewllow filter), had HDR off. VRR off, had “ CONTRAST at 9:39 set at 38%. When --out of box at 50%. N Black level kept high without dimming it.
I Already literally set d Random store U8K up whin 20 seconds. So this video….eh. Lol. Why even produce such image to show? When it literally does NOT even OUT OF box look LIKE THAT.
Thanks Steve , another great video . There is one similarity that was not mentioned , but is very important !! That is they both have 3.0 USB ports . It may not seem like a big deal , but Samsung and LG still are using the outdated 2.0 . If you have a flash drive or similar storage device with many files like .jpeg , mp3's or mp4's the load time is much faster with 3.0 !! >>> Hisense has a ton to offer for the cost . Personally I am just not sure about how long it will last . I need a work horse of a tv !! I use a tv a lot , far more than most . I am retired and watch a ton of content , so having a tv that will last is just as important as picture & sound . I have had great tv's and really bad tv's , so I am counting on you !! to help . How about a shoot-out with the U8K , the S90C , the LG G3 and Sony A95L ? Thanks , later :) Dreamer

But i still love reading these responses 👍🏽

@@wingedhussar1453 hey i can help u. What setting did u use?
Like
For example, for watching UA-cam random podcast , day to day stuff. (UA-cam videos alll mostly filmed bright lights, n easy to manage to learn how to set TV). SKIP those Netflix , or game etc.
Use UA-cam videos to set d TV to get d basic “recipe” that to yr liking.
-“BRIGHTNESS”
-Black level
- contrast
- tint
Sharpness
MOST importantly -picture mode
Those are basic to start with. Can really help. Did u put on like Film Maker mode or Theatre Mode right off bat? Those can make TV look like dog poo 💩 if not know how to tweak the TV 📺 yet. It’s very easy to do but a LOT of options are contradicting. For example , like when we take iPhone pics, there filters. A lOT of those Hisense options are like filters. Some times OVER weak make it look WAYb worse. Like Over sharpen, over contrast etc. also some ppl put on filter to make “its 70s show” but try to add more “contrast” to double filter to make it MORE clear. It can really mess up .
@@wingedhussar1453 u should look up those tall metal TV stand with wheels. I have 2 white glossy ones. They are elegant n quite useful. I addres white glossy cuz they look GOOD blends in the wall not even noticable. I had a black one before look too industrial n ugly.
I am sitting tilted to my Hisene right now, lol. I tilt my TV everyday lol.
Great video the Sony just lacks in brightness but in certain shots like you said the Hisense gave off a green tint when having a white background like the (sky)
he chose theater night mode, killed the image quality. My 65" U8K does not look like that on standard mode.

is it just me or does hisense tv somekind of layer over the graphics, making it more brighter?
For me, nothing comes close to the motion performance of the lg cx, c1 c2. But the upscaling is nowhere near as good as Sony tv's...so you need to choose which features are going to be forgone
I want to get a fancy Sony, but the cheapo in me says to try out the Hisense. 899 for a 75 inch 7UK TV is very tempting. If it's not reliable, its not too much cash and I will never buy them again. Thoughts anyone?
First time the U8K looked too overly saturated at times and that video game lost detail or maybe the glow just blinded the camera 😅 probably still get one but that kinda showed it can be a little too much sometimes. Maybe its just settings and a easy fix
Yes, it can be calibrated. The game did show some glow on the battlefield
@@TechSteve I have one hooked up to an rtx 3090 and not getting any of those issues. Butter smooth vrr with vivid but not oversaturated colors and inky blacks. Does take different settings for games than video though so there is a bit of fiddling with black levels and such when I want to go between games and other content. But thats not the tv's fault thats due to pc gaming not being industry standard like consoles or other devices you hook up.
@nonaurbizniz7440 I don’t have a powerful pc, I’m actually an apple user which I prefer for video editing
@@TechSteve I'm sure its wonderful for that too. After calibration.. ;p None of these newer tv ever seem to ship with anything remotely like usable settings.

Thx M. techSteve, I'll said Hisense too much staturated color (orange) but more bright they really progress well last years .
He didnt set it up properly . He had it set to WARM Tone. N he had the peak brightness turn down to below 40. But he kept Black level UP at 50 (it needs to go downto 10-30% to look incky black). Yeah dude. UP the black level brightness. Then turn down the Bright color. Then on yellow theater mode. OF course it will look funny mushy like that. 😮
He doesnt own those tvs. By how many tvs on their chanels. They do not know how to tweak Hisense tvs. I own 2 Hisense. NONE of my OLDER U8 , or My Buddy’s U7H look anything like that.
The sound test was eye opening. The Sony was much better. The Hisense seemed to be quite muddled.
I’m looking at a new tv. Mostly for ps5 gaming and movies and tv. I was thinking lg c3 but then that oled burn in risk. So I saw the qn85c. But then I saw the Sony and fuck! The color on Sony is amazing ! Then I seen the Hisense and it may not be as good as the other 3 but price ratio is unbeatable! Man idk!! I have until the 20th to choose ! Please help haha
Look, I recently bought this Toshiba Android TV 43 inch 4K Ulta HDR TV, I have 3 HDMI inputs, how do I know it has 2.1?
I've had the U8K for a little over a month now and it exceeded my all my expectations. I mainly Game on this TV.
Tip for Console Gamers:
Disable Freesync in the Picture Settings when Gaming @ 120fps w/ VRR on. This will greatly resolve your gaming experience with demanding games that fluctuate to reach a steady 120fps.

X90L
@@TechSteve are you correcting the fact that I said X90K or you are saying to get the X90L? And if so for what reason would you recommend this?

Hi Steve, excellent channel, very informative and extremely professional. 👏 - Having owned and extensively used both of these models here are a few of my takeaways. The Sony is a great set, we purchased the Costco model that comes with an upgraded premium backlit remote. It was a very nice tv however it had some of the absolute worst reflection handling of any set we’ve ever owned. Virtually any normal or even ambient lighting in the room significantly negatively impacted the picture to the point where we were only able to really enjoy it in total darkness. It was so annoying that we ultimately decided to return the set. The Sony and Hisense were both purchased primarily for gaming and as an avid gamer 1440p @60fps + has been my personal sweet spot. The SONY would not accept/display a 1440p picture natively on my either the PS5 or Series X, we discovered a workaround but it was never intuitive or functional like it was in other similar models we’ve used, ie the Samsung S90b and LG C2/C3. Ok now on to the Hisense, the sheer number of features it brings to the table for gamers are virtually unmatched including 4 hdmi 2.1 inputs, the Sony only has 2, the mini led display, subwoofer sound, VVR and a very convenient onscreen FPS counter. Also I saw none of the color degradation or any of the motion handling issues some others owners have mentioned. It was also very snappy in its user interface whereas the Sony was semi sluggish and unintuitive. All was not perfect however as it did have some serious blooming and the DSE was very noticeable. All in all it is hands down the best bang for your buck especially at its current asking price of $750, with the only serious drawback being the longevity and reliability of the Hisense brand. Anyhow thank you guys for reading, hope this semi helped. God bless!
Well said. I saw U8K in store 75” i played with it with remote. ONLY TOOK …10…SECONDS to make it ….OLED like but BETTER.
VERY soon i feel like a LOT of online influencers are losing their credibility . When they are selling both TVs. It’s d definition of Conflict of Interest. 😊
can u do 2 things for me?
Somewhere in the video,,,,Maybe 9:39 it says the U8K Setting --CONTRAST was only : 😅38%. 😅Can u take a look what DOES THAT look like on yr U8K.? Also have : HDR -off, VRR- off, Black auto detection something off. WHAT does your TV look like?
1 can u -turn ur U8K , have everything un touched but Set --SHARPNESS to 7 (0-50 range). What does it look like??? 😺 He had Video “SONY X90K vs Hisense U8H” Video. He had it “out of box video” but had Sharpness down to 7. Of course as usual Black level not dimmed.
2 can u -TURN OFF Local Dimming completely? To see look like? H had Video “ TCL 6 vs U8H” having TCL all processors turned off,,,,then turn Hisense Local Dimming turned off.
I am getting little bit un easy.
In the US. both the Hisense U8K, and the Sony X90L have only 2 HDMI 2.1s, and the extra 2 others are HDMI 2.0
Dude, u just debunked 80% of UA-cam Hisense U8K videos.
@@birdtj82 I know right. Like I said I personally don’t know about the longevity or reliability of the Hisense brand, as some owners have said they have owned Hisense products for years problem free while others had problems from day one. I do stand by my initial impressions of the U8K. We have used almost every high end set available with the exception of the G3 and the new QDOled’s and for the $ you simply cannot find a more feature rich product than the U8K at a $750 price point. Just for example we bought a discounted 48” LG C2 oled for $899, regular $1499, and the Hisense mini led display popped off the screen and actually made the C2 look dull when playing identical programming. Anyhow that’s just my 2 cents from an actual owner. Thanks again and God bless!!!
The hisense seems to be a better deal.but i dunno if it was just me but the sony had some kind of glow at the right side of the screen.
Great review. I’m so happy with my u8k. It really is the best bang for the buck. I’m sure the price difference is a factor also.
It’s a fantastic unit for sure, great that you found something that you enjoy
Not a fair comparison, different technology, how about U8K v Sony X93L?
The Hisense and Sony have a ~400-500€ price difference over here, so i think my choice is clear :D
I am a Sony fan boy but I can't fault you for that. Spend the difference on a sound bar.
Sony upscales low quality content very good. The thing is that Sony in standard picture mode is not so appealing as it is when you set the picture adjustment to your preferences. Sony offers plenty of fine adjustments and one can do wonders with it.
Sony has finally come back with a great mid-range LCD. This has been absent since the X900F in 2018, Sony did a bit of a nosedive In its mid-range lineup until the X90l. Surprisingly the X900F still has the X90L beat in some of the most important fundamental aspects of picture quality. It has better native contrast ratio, better blooming control, far better uniformity and better response time. I owned both and visually they are about the same regardless of specs. I've tried so many times to upgrade my X900F and virtually everything I buy false short, despite the better technical specifications. Tried the QN90B, U8H and X90L - all end up being returned. I will say the x90l is absolutely a great TV and just as good as the x900f but certainly not better. The x900f is a very special panel, the color production is so high class. It actually reminds me a lot of last gen high end plasma. Very rich, lush vibrant yet natural color quality, It does not have the typical cold and clinical characteristics of LCD. Shoot, maybe I'll have it for another 5 years!
My x900f only lasted 6 years but most definitely loved the tv
@@YungDonCorleoneTV My only complaint is blooming with HDR material specifically in the letterbox bars, not on actual content. Black level is damn near OLED level with SDR which is incredible because Sony does not use a lot of dimming zones. They just have really strong algorithms. What sets that X900F apart is its color production, It's just super solid and reminds me a lot of last gen flagship plasma color production. Motion handling is also excellent and actually better than what I'm seeing on some of the newer Sony sets.
My 900F was my favorite TV for SDR..i have the x95K and the 900F was way better!
@@michaellubeck8464 did your screen go out as well?
@@michaellubeck8464 The x900f is such a great TV- better color production and motion handling than most contemporary high-end TVs. Even better than most contemporary Sony's. It does suffer from blooming while displaying HDR content but that's not a problem if you use bias lighting. I won't be getting rid of this TV anytime soon.
Nice video! Try and do Sony 93L vs u8k👍 would be awesome
Sorry I don’t have every TV
The U8K 100 inch is $5100 v the X90L 98 inch at $10,000 now guess which one I am choosing. Yeah HISENSE
I think it is very easy decision and a good decision, there is not much between the two TVs but I think Hisense is slightly better because it is Mini Led, if we were comparing Hisense U8k and Sony X93 L then it would be a fairer comparison.
Sony has the most detailed images and Sony's sound is also better
Hello sir I'm from India 🇮🇳 I'm living alone so which one better the both TV's x90l or hisense u8k bt u8k not available in India so my question is I'm going to Sony x90l ya waiting hisense u 8k tell me Mr steve 😊
As a Current Owner Of a 2022 Hisense U8H in 55" Size Which Replaced My 55" Sony 4k From 2016 I'll Be Going Back To Sony With The X90L. My Hisense Recently Started Getting The "Dirty Screen" Effect When Displaying An All White Picture (Such As When Watching N.H.L. Hockey For Example). It Is Very Annoying And There's Really Nothing One Can Do To Get Rid Of It. As Far As Displaying Dark Scenes The Picture Is Still Outstanding Considering The Sub $1k Price Tag I Purchased It. Luckily I Watch Mostly In a Dark Room and Mostly Movie Content (4k Blu-Rays, Regular Blu-Rays, and Stream 4k Content). That Being Said I'll Probably Not Go Back To Hisense In My Future Television Purchases.
Sony is more dark than hisense. Hisense is amazing if you want a brighter picture but upscaling content sony does a bit better. I must say that Hisense has done exceptionally well to be compared with Sony.
The deciding factor for most people would be the one thing you omitted to mention, price!
Because of evergreen content, I add links for you to research price
Seems like the Hisense likes to highlight things that aren't the main focal point. I wouldn't consider that better.
What’s some examples
@@TechSteve You your self pointed them out, in this video and you can see it in Stop The Fomo's comparison where the U8K chose to highlight the ground instead of the guitar player unlike the Q7, and X90L who managed to highlight him properly which made the U8K not look so great but in some scenes it didn't matter much like how instead of highlighting the girl in the yellow shirt, and the man in this video it highlighted the left side behind them which to me looked nice regardless. However in my opinion it's best if it did highlight the subjects every time.
Gotcha
Maybe it's me but the Sony picture clearly seems more natural and vibrant. What's with the shadows on the right side of the Hisense screen. Also, the skies in the background seem to have an unnatural hue on the U8k. Finally, no one uses TV speakers, so the addition of a fifth speaker is kind of pointless. If price isn't a consideration, then the Sony wins hands down.
Just bought a 75 inch U8K... Looks fantastic when gaming and streaming movies but for some reason tv shows look like garbage. It's impossible to get rid of the soap opera effect and there is a significant stutter whenever the camera pans out that's fast movement. I'm considering exchanging it for a Sony...
I prefer the brightness of Hisense
I prefer the quality and durability of Sony, a friend of mine works in a BestBuy, he said to avoid Hisense...
TCL8m8 is better than the U8, but sony still beats it by a hair...X90L is beating minileds
I'm your 300th like. Now give me X90L as a giveaway 😁
While the sony might edge out the hisense in some areas the key thing sony can't compete with is the price. 55" U8K for $750 brand new. I was sold and its working fantasic as a pc monitor.
Hey,,,have u look up on youtube like 12K HDR videos?? How did it look like with its upscaling? I only have the previous GEN of flagship . I wonder how MUCH nicer it is now with U8K . :)
sony for me .
sony is best for upscaling lower reso sources . since i will be watching various tv shows which a lot of times are only 1080 .
i dont play games .
I'll be returning my U7k and getting the x90l cause there is so much color banding on low bitrate content on the Hisense u7k
Sony OLED vs Hisense ULED
The Sony has the old 4.2 Bluetooth. The Hisence has 5.2
I don't want this to come off as a negative comment. It is meant as constructive criticism. Do have, is not proper English, it would be does have. I found it jarring every time you said something like "This tv do have ..." I great enjoyed the review, and it has been one of the few where I didn't feel like the reviewer was being paid by one of the options being reviewed.
Thanks Teach
I greatly enjoyed...
Not if you're using Hisense in the plural form...
Hisense is brighter in gaming mode .way better
The Sony automatically wins because it has a true 10-bit panel
hisense vs tcl which better love from india
Neither. Hope that helps.
And here, Hisense looks way too green on most of scenes... i see that on any hisense U8K reviews.. ..
I JUST tried exact setting on my 65” Hisense , it made it look like 2015 mushy blown out black, stretched out pixels 38% Contrast. It’s interesting
@@birdtj82 Do you have U8K ?
@@AntrAcsA I dont. But i have 2 previous yr flagship Hisense(2 yr back to back), very close specs. so i tested on my TV….RIGHT WAY after watching this video. Over the 2.5 yrs with 2 Hisense Panel thats, NOT ever they are this weird ass Green mush, pulled apart pixation. Go to 9:39. He had Contrast on 38% so i dont know.
According to the professional calibrator Vincent in 1 of his videos, he tells ppl do NOT use filters if want crisp pics. THE more HIgher End/flagship, it already has insane processing power and UPscaling. He WARNed everyone “if buying Flagship, do NOT Mess with contrast/Sharpness more than like 3-5% it’s unnecessary n will decrease image quality. On top if putting Movie/game/vivid filter on it further mess with imagine quality. When double/Triple down same time, image will fall apart cuz it RE process already processed image. I thought seasoned TV review guides would know that alrady. I am really NOT a Techkie. So my TV is not neat tweaked. But like Cooking, doing so often, u dont even need to think, kinda just know what setting will make Hisense look like what. Takes 2 seconds. NOT -THAT!. I didnt own 2020 vision to see mushy pics lol.
Cuz those Movie modes, sports Modes, vivid, -- like Filters on Snap CHAT. It mess up with picture quality . This particular Theatre mode on Hisense, always give them a GREEN, Antique Grandpa vibe. IT really does Make DARK movie , politics n social issues enjoyable, but in TV reviews ppl are searching for Crisp image. WHY put that Theater mode on. Back light is 100%. BLACK level sits dead in middle not turned down. Putting on weird ASS green, theater filter, then contrast went down from 50 to 38%, HDR VRR, Smart Black color detection all turn off. I dont know what type of Flagship can still look this good, but this is NOT what suppose to look like . Lol
Okay last yr , the X90K vs U8H video, i think he put “Sharpness” setting all d way down to 7 (at 0-50 range, out of box it sits at 25). Then d TCL vs U8H video, he had like TCL all the processing turned off, then Hisense LOCAL DIMMING completely turn off to be Match(“here i am fair” type of thing) then . He has really funny settings in his Reviews. :) :)
@@AntrAcsA oh I CHECKED in person U8K 75” already in store. I grabbed remote n made it look like OLED snappy and Vibrant at same time in 10 seconds. I am NOT bragging. That’s why i am like :”how did u make the TV look like that. I had to mess my OLDER TV around to look Worse. Lol. U8K suppose to be significant upgrade , snappier crisp image.
@@birdtj82 Wow, that's incredible! Does it actually look that green in person? Last year, my primary target was the 65U8HQ (EU), but it was consistently out of stock. Now, I see that some stores have it available, but I'm holding out for the U8KQ model.
I chosen the x95k over the x90l.
The x95k has the better dimming
OF course paying alot more getting a steak or lobster dinner 👍
comes to everything depends how deep u wanna go in pocket, like NEXT year TCL gonna come with 5000 Nit Mini Led TV in 115 inch also , gonna tear up any TV brand next year specially comes to HDR , so ya u pay more u get more
@@SFBenjaminK a Lot more? I paid 1600 Euro for the 75 Inch x95k😅
The x90l Cost 2k in 75inch
@@Uncle_Titus25% IS "a lot more".
@@TheNerdArmory i think you looked wrong.
I paid 1600 for the x95k
And the x90l Cost 2000
@@Uncle_Titus this isn't typical so I don't know why you would assume it is. Good job on the savings tho
I thought the Hisense looked waaay better here!
When you put it on Vivid it all over Sony can't compare specially when you ticker with the setting which you have more options
The Hisense is much brighter & it's a very loud TV
That subwoofer hits !
Enjoyed the comparison, but: Absolutely no reason to check the audio on TVs. A waste of everyone's It's not good anyway. If you don't already have decent speakers, you need to buy those before you buy an expensive TV. A mediocre TV with a great sound system can be powerful. A great TV with flat panel sound is just sad.
Things I film are by request of other subscribers
My Samsung Q8FN from 2018 can do 1440p 120hz. Sony doesn't support 1440p at all. Yes you heard that right, no 1440p option available on a $1000+ TV from 2023 without mini leds and uses the same Google OS as the Chinese brands lol.
