Welcome to the Life SMP season 5 renamed Secret Life - episode 8! We start Secret Life Ep8 by setting up a Creeper farm to sell the gunpowder to the red names. But it all goes wrong when I have a visitor stop by and get my secret task. Hope you enjoy it and see you in the finale of Secret Life!

Scar mined a ground block, didnt pick it up, entity was left in hole
Scar then filled the hole with TNT and quickly covered it with a wooden pressure plate

Then the entity teleported to ground level triggering the plate.

Scar accidentally makes the best unintentional mob farms, but when he builds one intentionally builds one it is the least efficient design possible🤣

The secret keeper is making it very hard to root for scar from any other perspective
its hard to root for him even from his own perspective sometimes (cough cough) (him killing bdubs in the zombie spawner for no reason when the task was just to win games) (cough cough)
Nah, it was always this hard.
The only reason I rooted a little bit for him, is because he was the only one to defend himself against the reds. The other players just took the damage without hitting back.
He didn't have to kill bdubs, burn joels base, be a snake oil salesman for multiple series, burn the ranch down, etc.

I like how this whole server evolved into people politely betraying each other.
Scars arc in this has basically been a self fulfilling prophecy. He does a little bit of villainous things, and then everyone treats him AS IF he's going to continue to be a villain. And so he has to retaliate when they provoke him, only solidifying their thoughts of him being the villain.
the 3rd movie should be called "scar being a villain: a sequal to a sequal"

9:38 Scar inadvertently set off the TNT by not picking up the dirt first. Dig hole, place TNT, place pressure plate, dirt pops up and lands on pressure plate. You can hear the hiss as it activates the second the door closes.
I also love how at the start of this series, Scar was the friendly neighborhood shopkeeper, but now he's built his walls, planted his thorn bushes, chases off everyone with weapons. He's turned into a feral gremlin lol
Unhinged Scar is always so fun to watch
Scar is trying so hard to make friends, and the secret keeper keeps making increasingly pointed "NO"s at him.
Funny how Scar wanted so badly to be unhinged when he was green in the earlier episodes, and then he regrets terribly when the Secret Keeper obliges with unhinged tasks
I love how Scar has just broken almost every single rule in the series completely by accident and I love him for that honestly

I love how the last few episodes have gone: Scar gives his plan for the episode, he then gets his task and it completely opposes his plan 😂
i swear when scar got down to his red life, the horror and villainy tone in his voice made me actually horrified inside. I just knew that he wasn't going to go easy on ANYONE

I hope he's out first next session, he 100% deserves it. Killed Bdubs by breaking the rules, shoots at people without them attacking him, got Grian to let him twist the rules for him in the first episode, burning Gem's book wasting everyone's time, wearing a helmet in most of not just one but two different episodes, and turning down every single persons offer for alliances in the first half of the season and wondering why he has no friends in the second half

@@stephenkrahling1634 you're entitled to your own opinion of course, but I do wonder what you're doing in Scar's comments section if you dislike him so much. Are you familiar with the concept of "don't like don't watch?" Something else to keep in mind is that this is a game played by a group of friends and it's all done in good fun. The only benefit to winning is bragging rights, there's no money involved and the players all self-moderate. They decide as a group what's ok and what's not, and if one of them does something the others don't think is ok they'll discuss it off camera. Everything you see in videos has been deemed acceptable by everyone involved. Grian himself has said the only reason for the helmet rule is so they can recognize each other more easily, but they're lax on that rule because they all know each other by now (see session 6 Grian POV). If you want to be a stickler for the rules, you should be upset with every team because, strictly speaking, once a player turns red they should break all alliances and become hostile as per the original rules established in season 1, but very few people have done that. All this to say, try not to take things so seriously? These guys are all just here to have fun and blow stuff up, and it's not our place to tell them how to play a game they established the rules of together. It takes the fun out of it for them, and we don't want that now do we?

Its genuinely so heartbreaking seing Scar as he tries to find friends and companions, but always ends up on the defense, screaming for others to get away, like a wounded animal, trying to protect himself
You try to find friends in episode 1-3, not in episode 8 after you attacked/hurt everybody else.
There are 4 closed factions + dogs + scar.

In my experience the third film is usually when they drop the number and add some random meaningless word instead like “Villain Scar: Reckoning”

In Hollywood, the 3rd in a trilogy is just the third of 10, given their excessive addiction to money.

Scar has the most ironic luck with tasks in this series- for the Trilogy question, the holiwood style trilogy goes like this, 1 stand alone film that does well enough that executives try for a sequel, and the people sell them on a trilogy instead 2 a sequel that goes bigger and expands on things from the first film, but ends with some sort of cliffhanger or set up for the third film 3 often starts off mid adventure following up on the end of the second film, resolving that plot thread before getting into the larger plot elements set up by the second film.
for example the star wars trilogies, the first three pirate films- A new hope was a perfectly self contained story, albeit one steeped in elements of a larger tale, but those could have just been worldbuilding before Empire was greenlit, and empire ends with Hans in carbonite, which is the first plot that Return of the Jedi goes into. The first three pirates movies did the same sort of thing, but the plot thread between 2 and 3 was Jack being in Davey Jones locker, with the larger plot being dealing with the East India company and Davy Jones.
Scar's story doesn't really fit that mold, except for how the reprecussions of the previous tasks keep coming back to haunt him. But its not bad for being unscripted.
