Just because they did not show it does not mean it was not done. All concrete should/ must be vibrated to make sure there are no voids it the finished product...
The concrete has a lot of apparent holes. Imagine how it is around the rebar. It is not vibrated, the waterproofing didn't go all the way into the visible holes of the concrete walls, the grout was applied wrong. This is a disaster.
When setting large format tile (LFT), it’s not recommended to offset the tiles by more than one third because you’ll end up with lippage as can be seen in this video where the tiles were offset 1/2. The finished installation is very pretty, though.
And the water proofing done with a roller over all those holes. They should have used a vibrator after the pour to get rid pf the air bubbles. And why did they not have a tube for the concrete fillig, seems like alot of it went outside of the kassets. Other than that the idea is good.
zack9912000 I don't know about concrete but I know these pools have to be overpriced because of all the waste. Also, the workers look like they are unhappy. I bet they don't care if the pools come out crappy or with flaws. IMHO
Though if you have the space to swim around a bit, then you have fresh temperature water flowing along your body. So that feels more refreshing than sitting still in a pool. And a bit of excercise of course.
At my house we have a pool, it's a decent size. We also have a hot tub. We get wayyyy more use out of the hot tub. We are in it almost every night of the year. We are planning on moving and we are only getting a hot tub, we just don't get enough use out of the pool and they are a lot of work

I visit mars a lot because my brother in law has a shop there and they make pools energy efficient with zero concrete and passive filtration. Also they have natural waves and and you get 3% less HIV by swimming in it.
For that money might as well install it inside the house. Cut a hole in the floor and lower it into the basement with a crane. Then install the proper ventilation inside (because indoor pools need ventilation). If I was spending that kind of money, I would want my pool inside the house so I could use it year round.
I'd like to know the cost difference of a concrete plunge pool versus a full size pool I mean that dude had a huge backyard if you look further but anyways
This made me a bit uncomfortable. Jenn isn't a very good interviewer, and the woman presenting didn't seem to be very knowledgeable. Would have been more interesting to hear from the workers/installers
lysergicheadcase what a crock of shit. The woman presenting literally answered every question and even corrected the interview a few times when she said things like, “in just ten minutes you have a pool”.
I mean, my first thought was ‘that’s a tiny pool that probably costs a lot more than a much larger lined inground pool’. But most residential pools aren’t really large enough for “swimming” anyway; 4 strokes and your at the other end. Mostly people just splash about and cool off, so why not go small? But I bet this is still prohibitively expensive.
Why not pour concrete at site? What justifies doing that in a factory if it is a seasonal business anyway? Paying for a crane truck instead of for a concrete mixer is just not logical
What's the name of this pool company that is making this pool we are having a hard time finding a pool company that has any idea what I'm talking about
Not that model but I heard some bad stuff about those plunge pools being installed without a hydrostatic pump and it cracking during the season changes
How deep is the pool shown? Is it heated? (The woman from the pool company said "summer and winter..." so how is that made possible? In a regimen of physical therapy years ago, the treatment took place in a therapy pool that was shallow enough in one area to be able to walk and deep enough in other areas that you could only tread water. The pool was heated to something over 100 degrees. It was a small pool in size but designed with those physical therapy needs in mind. Would this pool shown on TOH be suitable for that kind of home PT?

Never heard of a plunge pool. Is that a pool you can’t swim in but isn’t a spa? Seems like a waste of money.
I'm curious as to why they didn't vibrate all the air bubbles out of the concrete form? I noticed a lot of pits and pockets on the inside and outside.
S0uthp4w68 Yeah, you can only get rid of that appearance if you have a finished surface, which would have to be facing up and exposed.
Well...it only costs $23k before installation so they barely make any money as it is😂😂😂
Just because they did not show it does not mean it was not done. All concrete should/ must be vibrated to make sure there are no voids it the finished product...
Because the vibrating device is out of service due to overuse by the pool making chick
