Mr Geo my name is Laurence and I’m 17 years old. I have been a fan for a while, this is my new account. I used to shave with cartridge razors and I recently have switched to a Merkur 34C and I have been getting really good shaves with no irritation at all. I have sensitive skin so I can only go with the grain. I use a brush to lather and things are really working. My state of Florida in the United States, especially in my area, we were hit bad by Hurricane Ian. We recently just got the drywall removed in some of the rooms. Sir I just wanna thank you for showing us viewers on how to handle a safety razor. The crazy thing is, the first time I used my Merkur, not once did I cut myself or experience razor burn or irritation. My face is very clear now with no acne. I have a good diet and I am a senior at my high school and I have all A’s and B’s. Thinking about getting proraso soon and today is a good day for me. Thanks once again, Mr Geo.
Hi Laurence, Keep up the great work in school! I like to visit Naples. I hope you're all recovering from that wicked Ian and wish you the best moving forward.
Chad, if you ever find an old English made Gillette Rocket for a good price, grab it. The 1940s-50s Gillettes that were made in England are some of the best shaving razors ever made. Don't let the age deter you. They were built to last 2-3 lifetimes.
Hi Geo, that's a nice looking shavette razor, nice design. Parker really do make good looking and quality razors. Always a joy watching your videos Geo. Take care.
Awesome Geo👍👍 Looks like a winner, will be waiting to see the results of the shave. An adjustable shavette, who'd of thunk it.. Thanks for the reveal, bet it's going to be popular. Take care, enjoy!
Hey Geo, I am fascinated by this razor. I have never used a straight razor or shavette before, but now I want to try this one to channel my inner cowboy. Please do a video of the Parker in action soon, and give us your opinion on whether it is worth getting, or if there are better options out there. Thanks!
I love shavettes..have you used the tomb 45 3 way razor that's the most comparable to this one? This obviously has to has less blade exposure than the tomb45 3 way from what I saw.
I can tell you that's the reason I bought a shavette. While I like the way it gives me sharp, perfect beard lines, I have NO desire to use it all over my whole face. While there's something that makes me think that a real, stroppable straight razor might be better than a shavette, my experience with the shavette has convinced me that a good DE is fine, and I don't need to plunk down the money for a good quality razor and strop.
Having used both, I don’t think it’s a bridge. A safety de is very much like a catridge razor imho. At least most of the mild razors out there are very much like cartridge razor is how they need to be operated. But a shavette is a skill that you will need to learn ( and can do so easily) . To put it in a different way - i can right away go from a mach 3 cartridge to a de razor with very little skill addition. That’s not the case with the jump to a shavette and that jump is even more pronounced when you go to an actual straight razor !
Straight razors are much more forgiving and smooth than a shavette. So it won’t give a very good comparison I think and can even give you the wrong impression about straights.
@@JeroenvKL That's what I imagine a real straight razor to be like, but, if it's smoother, is it also duller?...and is that possibly better? Because I usually use Feather or Wilkinson in my shavette, and they're freakin SCARY sharp. I've seen the damage I can do with a shavette vs an awesome shave with a DE. Do you think I would do less damage with an actual straight?
Great review Geo, Parker should’ve added a magnet to hold the blade in place, less fidgeting with it, but still a great idea having three shaves in one.
Very interesting concept, and the shavette is not expensive at all. I'm a bit confused though, which one would be the mildest one, the low reveal one? (I have very sensitive skin)
Hey Geo, my one question is do the inserts lock into place? My concern would be if the insert could possibly slide out during a shave if it doesn't lock into place. I've been using a parker shavette for over a year now and love it. Either way man I enjoy your channel and your videos. Keep up the good work pal, looking forward to seeing your next videos 👍👍
@@geofatboy Tbh I haven't bought one yet because that was my main concern. I wanted to check your videos first to see if they even lock into place, or if it could possibly happen.
Hi, Geo, I’ve been a big fan of your videos for a long time now and there’s one safety razor that I’ve done on my channel and it’s the Parker 65R and it’s awesome. Have you tried it? If so, let me and do a video on it.
I have that razor and I can say it is the most difficult to insert the blade and to keep it in its place while you slide it. It is almost impossible to do, because the blade moves. And to make an adjustable shavette, is ridiculous. The blade is the blade, it gives no difference if it is more or less exposed.
Geo: Just seems too complex and possibly dangerous. Just keep it SSS! Double edge adjustable: i.e. Merkur’s Progress or Futur with DOVO blades! All German 🇩🇪 Chow

Love you geo, my dad left before I could learn how to shave and I've learn from watching your videos on youtube. Greetings from London, England. Chad

Are shavettes a way to bridge the gap from safeties to straight razors, or do people also use them exclusively?

Love it so much !
So luxury !
probably buy one of them from shave nation ❤️🌹

Absolutely spot on about the magnet... Maybe version 2?

I agree that it should have a magnetic blade holder. That would definitely simplify the process.

Did you accidentally put review in the title?
I don't think so...
Ah, since a review is mostly given after usage, so to me this was more an unpacking :)
This is a "swapple" razor like a 6-C has swapple plates. A true adjustable can be changed on the fly. Long live Gillette 195 razors!
I called it flippable but swapple works too!
