I have a question you may have already. Do these things sink? What kind of preparation is necessary for the ground below these tires? I'm going to assume that the bottom sidewall prevents sinking but I had to ask from someone with experience.
They don't sink it they ahve been built on firm ground. So ours were built on firm clay, with 300-600mm Type 1 "MOT" gravel compacted at 150mm intervals underneath. We had them plate tested up to 1000KN/m2. They sunk about 2mm on average. The building requires them to take about 700kN/m2 so that's fine!
you uploaded a video in which you spelled "deer" with "dear". How can a person without a basic command of the english language call out anything as "stupid" with zero explanation?
Great - thanks for taking the time to make these vids.
why not just cut top side wall off ? Or, both sidewalls as in the mechanical concrete videos?
I think you have the right idea. Not having to ram those walls in might cut the labor involved in half.
Yeah. Cut the sidewalls off, fill the tyre with rock, tamp it down a bit...done.
interesting - that would make it like one of the low profile tyres we prefer
@@HolyTrinityTulseHill Look up "mechanical concrete"
@@6point5by55 I had this idea too - I'm thinking of just cutting off one side - not sure it's necessary to cut both off - any thoughts? Cheers
