Well, the Finch West LRT is mostly complete and should be opening in a few months time...if it actually opens on time, then Metrolinx will have (somewhat) redeemed itself.
It looks like there's plenty of progress in Toronto; imagine how much more extensive the subways and streetcars would be if the city and province didn't sit on their hands for 25 years.😢
The 90s till 2010s were so bad for toronto transit. Line 4 was a good idea but the politicians ruined it and we only got the 5 station line we have now. Toronto's future is looking great though
@@Galaxyshooter116 the projects currently underway were created under wynne, go expansion is just the same as go RER, and the ontario line is the same as the downtown relief line.
What can I say, I am 57 Years Old, with the track record that Metrolinx has with Eglington. I do not have enough time left in my life to possibly see ANY of these expansion finish....
I see this a lot but I am not sure why Metrolinx is really to blame for the Ellington Crosstown delays. I do think maybe there are ways to better incentivize corporations but that would have required doing business a different way then Metrolinx is authorized to do. As it stands the project got delayed because the Consortium of private corps delayed it. Metrolinx could sue but bankrupting a corp that is supposed to be building your infrastructure will not make your infrastructure appear faster. Maybe in the future there could be bonuses for corps that get there on time and pass a 3rd party inspection.
I guess Toronto is growing and needs more transit, but I also think these might be overbuilt white elephants that will never be fully used. And who lives in Toronto, anyway?!
Salary parties on Air Transit with blue drinks to anywhere south. NOT ONE Metrolinx employee earns less than $100k and they are ALL from outside Canada at their Union Station address.
My right ear really appreciates this coverage.
Line 5 was such a disaster, but I'm hopeful that Metrolinx has learned from that and will apply those lessons moving forwards. Time will tell.
Audio left right balance is totally off, please fix this for future videos.

@@SaumonMirshahi Hopefully they'll extend that subway east to meet Line 2 and west to meet the west fork of Line 1.
Yea true
Love this reporting keep it coming!
I am so excited for the Ontario line & this station in particular!
I chuckled when they state Ontario line to be completed by 2031....assume that's the same kind of deadline as the Eglington line... 2051... ;-)
All these transit projects should have been completed decades ago. But instead we spent years of procrastination, delays and consultation…
And you can thank the Liberals for that. I'm not a big fan of Doug but i am pleased that he's getting transit actually built.
Go home globalist

You'll see the Finch and Eglinton West open to customers, though.
Finch West is on track to open in a few months though.

Most of these local news uploads are not panned to the centre. It's very amateur.
Corruption plagues Ontarios construction industry.
I would be willing to bet this project will encounter many unforseen problems, costs and delays. It's basically the rule rather than the exception.
You mean 2041 with Metrolinx reputation
Can you fix the garbage audio? Why are we uploading videos without balanced audio in 2023/2024?

They're creating a temporary bridge to build the real bridge then they'll demolish the temporary bridge. This is how they inflate budgets lol
Wow, metrolinx has every project in the GTA! How corrupt!
