I really like your videos guys. They always give me great ideas to use in coaching my team. I coached 8U kid pitch this spring and run into the sidline coaching. Keep up the great work!
yeah i had a mother , who would set up a lawn chair directly behind Homeplate to watch her daughter pitch, and i would look over and she would be mirroring the pitches and after every pitch the daughter she would mouth stuff to her daughter, and the daughter would put her hands in the air like “i don’t know what she’s trying to tell me”….. this went on for like 2 innings until the MOTHER called a time out to go talk to her daughter on the mound….. I stopped her as she needed to go through the dugout to get into the field, and i said “ you need to stop, she is going to be on JV next season, and this is an official modified school game, you CAN NOT call time outs to go give your daughter tips, if you think it’s important, tell me, and IF i think it’s important, i will relay the message…. it’s distracting to everyone else in the field, and clearly your daughter hates it, so if it continues i will have to put her in another position and no more pitching” i hate punishing the kid for the parents behavior, but this girl said she would rather not pitch when her mom is at the game…. and the mom would tell me the games she would be at in hopes that i will put her at pitcher those games.
How do you deal with the loose cannon parents? Had a really bad incident last weekend and had a parent raise his voice and curse after the first inning.
yeah, not that you have to play everyone the same, especially in Travel or school ball, but the parents who have such a lopsided view of how much their kid sits compared to other kids are insane….
