Yep, same for me. As silly me bought the Chinese version from Ali, I only could pair to the Mi Fitness app setting the region to China. But all is working fine now.

After i connect it, it sets me the language on chinese automatically, even if i set english in the beginning..

I am not able to pair and the app instructions says only if phone region is set to china and app region is set to china, the pairing works. In my phone location settings, i dont have china country itself. Any idea how to resolve this

Region is not relevent at all. This is for them to know from where are ppl buying the product. Just use a region where english is the first laguage if you want it in english.
