What a fabulous introduction to Trainz. This story was spectacular and I really enjoyed seeing Edward as a mentor figure to Rosie thats something I've wanted someone to do a story about for ages. The filming was really great too. My favourite part though has to be when Bill and Ben tried to scare Rosie awake but in reality she scared them that was hilarious
You solved the biggest problem I had with Rosie. When she was introduced, she didn't even get an introduction episode. In her first appearance, she is treated as having already been working on the railway for a while and already knows who Thomas is. By any chance, was this inspired by UnluckyTug's idea of Edward becoming a mentor figure to Rosie?
I had actually forgotten about that idea of his. My idea for this story came from wanting to give Rosie an actual character beyond being obsessive. I choice Edward and Wellsworth as Rosie would have been a strong tank engine and good at banking on the hill.
Honestly I didn’t mind Edward’s dynamic with Phillip, yeah Phillip shouldn’t be living at Wellsworth but his dynamic with Edward reminds me of the one he had with Thomas when he was young.
Rosie has always been my second favorite character in the show, I always wished there was more fan content with her so words can't describe how happy I was when I saw this. This video was amazing and it's nice to see Rosie get more depth to her character

I do quite enjoy this story, but my main gripe is that it feels a tad more suited to Billy instead of being a Rosie story. Though that may just be my nostalgia for "Thomas and the Birthday Mail" seeping through. (Edit: what i mean is Rosie's typically over-eager to prove herself, Billy just can't take orders well.) Overall though, it's quite good, especially for your first time doing a Trainz story.
Rosie is flawed just like every other engine engines with no flaws usually aren't the best engines to write with and half of the time this leads to someone writing a story that makes them on a character including Edward strikes out.
@@LMS5935 Oh, I'm not saying she *isn't* flawed, because she very much is, but it's a different sort of flaw. In "Birthday Mail", and the rest of her earlier episodes, Rosie's kind of over-eager to prove herself. Billy just can't take criticisms/orders, which is a very different type of thing. My apologies for not clarifying that though.
@@SudrianShenanigans I mean to be fair assuming she actually partook in Military service She likely was put down for being “Female” (given the time period after all) I imagine in the late 40s early 50s & early 60s the whole equality shift probably allowed the stubbornness to manifest more often (my point of view though so...)

I really like the BR black Rosie model. Is it still available? Anyway, this personality change is what we really needed from Rosie. I especially love seeing the makeup on red Rosie; she should've stayed exactly like that in the actual show.
This was a fantastic way of introducing Rosie. Nice for her to learn from her mistakes and see her act like she knows what she is doing. Loved how she put Bill and Ben in their place 😀. But when it came to giving Rosie her new coat of paint, why was she painted red instead of pink? 😕
The story is good, though the ending result was a little disappointing for me…as I naturally asunder Rosie to given her proper pink coat, due to the colour of her cheeks in this story…as well as the title.
I prefer her Magenta Rose Red coat myself. I would have liked her pink coat more if it wasn't for that weird grey spot on her sides with nothing but empty space on it. It always looked to me that whoever painted her gave up when they were almost done and chose not to finish.

Not sure why Rosie is wearing the BR logo whenever her basis was built in America but still good work. Can you make a Rosie retrospective once you have the time?
This sounds weird and creepy (because Edward is way older than Rosie.) but if I could make a headcanon based on this maybe Rosie likes or follows or looks up to Thomas because somehow (hopefully other than both Thomas and Edward having blue paint, maybe because Thomas can also be kind but it’s clear that Thomas and Edward are nothing alike personality wise, since Thomas easily got frustrated with Rosie and showed it.) she reminds her of Edward(?) Or because of the YIKES age gap she likes Thomas who is closer to her age. This sounds stupid weird and creepy tbh and I hate myself. It sounds stupid tbh I think Rosie just likes Thomas for some reason, or learning not to be so stubborn or making friends or being on the island of Sodor or maybe not having much friends besides Edward, made her more friendly, maybe too friendly. Yes, I like this animation and story but sadly I know it’s not canon which is upsetting. Because when someone doesn’t have any or much friends they can become either look up to or be obsessed or possessive of their new or current friends, in Rosie’s case it’d be look up to her friends or be obsessive over them. This idea sucks I know. I’m not trying to promote shipping
To be fair Edwards not that much older than Thomas (Edward being built in 1896 and (Thomas being built in 1915) so about two to three years older than a few of my original characters (which share builders with Rosie (and in my headcannon hank who is a USATC S160) but they (my OC’s) were built simply to deal with a workers dispute (look up the Midland railway 2501 class (and the 2511s both built in different areas to similar designs and largely to different practices)
I seriously think blue will look good on rosie because rosie should be the same color as Thomas after thay marry💏❤❤ after that break up rosie will marry percy percy would look better in brown and white I relly don't know why I think that oh this is gay red and yellow now I think Thomas will look better in orange and black I know cheap lame Idea but I have lots of other ideas good and silver hmm mabie pink and red and white naa to lame for a boy train k I'll tell you what I'll think of more ideas okay🙂.
