What?????
A: it was always canon
B: Michelle Yeoh has played 2 different MCU characters (in GotG 2 and Shang-Chi), the actress who plays one of the baddies in the first Captain Marvel movie had been in the MCU already, Bruce Banner, Rhoady, Nico's mom, Fandral and General Ross have all been recast, Cassie Lang was recast twice, several characters have alternate reality versions voiced by different actors in What If?, the actor who plays Soussa was a cop in Avengers, Alfre Woodard played different characters in Luke Cage and Civil War, movies and shows starring MCU actors have been referenced within the MCU...this is not even remotely an issue.

Exactly in fact as far as oficial canon goes both of the characters that Yeow plays in the MCU are still active and is not that hard to simply make the already defunct character the actor played in Luke Cage as being Blade's twin brother or something along those lines.
