- The first video in a playlist I put in order to learn Elin step by step. I want to get new players in the game and interacting with the systems. I try to keep these as short as possible.

Never in my life did I imagine I would hear the words "Pick up the bonfire and put it in your pocket".
Elin has a ton of QoL that Elona needed and seems easier to digest. Truly one of the games of all time.
Classic Kelsier behavior, traveling bonfire
Thank you for explaining the user interface. As someone taking an interest in this game, I was completely overwhelmed with the sheer amount of options and elements of the UI, nevermind trying to figure out what I should be doing to get off to a good start or how to obtain what I need to make this and that and take care of myself. Other 'beginner' guides I've seen just skip straight over these essential things. It's like someone trying to teach you methods of baking a pie when you don't even know how to get the ingredients and make the pastry yet.
@@IxianMace I've played tons of roguelikes and I got tripped up a lot. Almost all of these are things I had to go look up to fully understand. Glad they help!
To add to these good tips - you can use the campfire from your inventory by right clicking on it. No need to put it on the ground and maybe forget it. That also lets you use it in town where you can't place it down.
@@samv5476 my man. I've probably left about 50 bonfires in nefias. I might include this in the next vid since it's so good
@@Rumplenutskn Works with all crafting stations I believe. Of course electricity requirements still apply.
Oh, awesome! Was hoping you'd do something like this. It took me an embarrassingly long time before I noticed the existence of the purse - I couldn't figure out for the life of me how to deposit orens in banks and the like as a result, haha. Thanks for the guide and looking forward to future videos.
thanks man, i'm trying to play this while sick and my brain is working at like slug pace, so i was really overwhelmed.
"I don't want to talk about it, just take the little girl." LOL
@@fictitiousnightmares * sigh *
No need to put bed in hotbar. You can keep bed i inventory and there is an icon on the left(F5) that quick use your inventory bed with 1 click.
@@fairtoki1685 true tips always in the comments. Til
Pro tip: don't even care about base building in day 1. Head straight to tinker's camp, do 2 quests and get the hammock first. If you feel bold, head straight to the casino and macro your way through the basketball minigame or save scum your way through blackjack to get the Ehekatl body pillow, tax chest and some furnitures for passive income (this is a low priority thing, I recommend doing this when you get your first tax bill and head for palmia instead of Mysilia solely for this and opatos altar)
Also there's the fact that you can visit yowyn to get all the misc skills for resource gathering along the way.
Hell yeah. This is like going to farm static warmth in Qud off a new character. Only a couple more hundred hours and I'll be there in this game.
@quangnhatpham Im working on a power spike guide I want your help!
@@Rumplenutskn too bad I've been modding elin to oblivion so my knowledge isn't quite up to date with the current meta.
thanks for the vid. could you please do a more detailed farming guide but under 5 mins?
@@punipunipurupoi3724 I am a explorer. I wished to help those hungry peasants by learning the basics of farming, but no more! I now seek peril and fame. If I could renounce my land I would. Alas the gobment
more of this kinda guide please
@@galahad6536 anything specifically youd like them to focus on? It just like a general guide typa deal?
@@Rumplenutskn right now I just binge watch your Elin videos, great stuff man keep them coming.
@galahad6536 I just ran the playlist through a counter and it's comes out around 25 minutes. Id love to finish the "basics" series in under 30 all together
Welp, im 500 days deep and i picked dog as my choice instead of the little girl lmaooo
But no worries, i have already been planning for a new character with some more thought into it instead of my first run with just randomize all lol
@@guillermogerrycabrera7625 honestly, once i get over the initial hump and get some gear I stop taking Ally's. It's the meta, but it's so much hassle to keep them alive and fed
how is your game zoomed out that much?
I shoulda said this part! Bottom left by the mini map, there is that wrench looking icon, if you click and hold you'll get a zoom bar
@Rumplenutskn thank you
Where part 2 muda trucka
@@nhifuu part two is a fine lady that needs to be treated with care
My purse got destroyed because it wasn’t fireproof ✊😔
@@KingMadDog7 you can always just bring a cardboard box around with you.... It might be even more fireproof
@@Rumplenutskn It depends what it is made of, the default cardboard boxes aren't fireproof.
@@Rumplenutskn made some boxes out of carbonized logs so they won’t get destroyed, but that doesn’t protect the items inside them unfortunately. Gotta craft and carry fireproof and coldproof blankets in your boxes as you get higher level. 💪😎
@KingMadDog7 so I think in my main save I have so much fire resist I became fire immune? I had to get a cold blanket because of shatters but fire seemed to stop burning my inventory
its not a race my dude, take your time. some of your guides are really helpfull and watchable but you talk to fast and the video is to short
@@angelo6647 this one kinda sucks since it was one of my first ones. Im in the process of making a new total beginner guide. But thank you for the feedback I have caught myself trying to cram too much in a arbitrary time limit
@@Rumplenutskn thank you, just a few minutes at a time for a specific topic maybe? also sounds weird but your voice and tone is great for such tutorials in my opinion at least
@@angelo6647 check my latest one if you have time. I stopped trying to fit the videos in a certain time. I feel the pacing was better. I do plan on redoing this specific "brand new" player guide as it's the first in the series and should be stronger.
OK, I do not know how you got the little girl or the axe, so by 1:26, I was lost, and everything you said in this video was pointless since I could never catch up. So, this guide I found was not helpful because I was lost, and let's pretend my issues are 100% caused by you.
@@basildaoust2821 forgive me for I have sinned. You are right, I should probably redo some of these
Personally I appreciate that he skipped any redundancy; you get these things during the initial guidance the game gives you and thus not easily missed. If you're watching this to decide whether or not to get the game then tips and tricks videos are probably not the best place to start. Once you got the game I recommend you try finish the tutorial on your own first, and then check beginner guides like this to see if there's anything you missed, where to go from there, and any details that wasn't covered by the games tutorial phase.
