About Tennessee Ernie Ford
Born Ernest Jennings Ford on February 13th, 1919 in Bristol, Tennessee, Tennessee Ernie Ford has made an indelible impact on America and the world through his unparalleled accomplishments in radio, records and television.
Throughout his legendary career spanning over 50 years, Ernie Ford's early successes as a radio personality led to his signing with Capitol Records in 1949. Through 1976, he released a total of eighty-three albums on the label--and literally scores of single records, including his classic version of Merle Travis' timeless anthem to the working man, "Sixteen Tons"...at the time of its release, the fastest selling single in Capitol's history.
About The Ford Show
On Thursday night, October 4th, 1956, NBC premiered The Ford Show Starring Tennessee Ernie Ford.
As prime-time's # 1 half-hour variety show for five years, The Ford Show featured all the ingredients of the top variety shows of the day; Hollywood's greatest guest stars, top-of-the-line production, and terrific music. But one simple element separated it from all others...Ernie closed virtually every show with a hymn, a spiritual or a song of faith. For the time, it was a bold and powerful statement for a popular entertainer of Ford's stature to be making on live television, especially in the face of the initial objections from Madison Avenue and the network. But it was a statement that would become the trademark of his career, and in many ways, the mark of his life. It would earn him the distinction of almost single-handedly bringing inspirational music into the mainstream of American entertainment...an enduring legacy of the lasting impact that one man's expression of faith can have on millions of people.

“Don’t be more trouble than you’re worth!” Being an old woman not good for much but prayer and Bible study, it turns out that I give God a lot of work to do. Happily, I’m worth the world to Him, so at 85, I give it all I’ve got - in the prayer and problems and praise vocation! Our dear Ernie Ford fuels my work and lights my life. Bless these eternal glories!
That’s really sweet Nancy : )
In their interview with Bill Gaither, the Statler Brothers mentioned how they first heard this on Ernie's 45 record. I always enjoy hearing Ernie sing spirituals.
Freaking love it
This is a great song… I just duet it on TikTok and here
I REALLY ENJOYED THAT
Sorry but NOah did not close the door, but God did. Genesis 7:16 16 And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the Lord shut him in. KJV
See he took a he and a she in the ark not a trans
When it's the Bible there's no confusion
@@downbntout lol what day was Jesus crucified again?
@@sananton2821A devout believer isn't shied away by trivial nonsense. If anything, it creates a more steadfast understanding and a drive to find an answer that appears initially unclear. At a bare minimum, to save yourself ridicule or a meaningless argument, I googled your "stump" of a question. Here is an answer that I think is somewhat meaningful to you (I am putting some faith in the Wikipedia page). Read Acts 2:14-21, and what ye olde historians and scientists clued together. Jesus is believed to have been 33 years old. The scripture prophesies an eclipse on the day before his rising, "The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord." Following some sort of astral calendar mathematics that is beyond my understanding for lack of further research, that day is believed to be the 3rd of April in the 33rd Year of Our Lord (Anno Domini, A.D.). It took me much longer to type this out than to research it for myself. Then again, what's easy isn't always right. And it would have been a lot easier to ridicule you. I hope you read this and find it well meaning.
This performance is so elegant, so perfectly conceived and performed. It blesses everyone with whom I share it. Eternal glories abound on UA-cam!
I love this I think the Cathedrals but dang he’s good too (not news to me) the guy who does it in Cathedrals I think is a base so actually surprised me Tennessee wasn’t deeper but still cool
Praises to the Lord Christ
thank you so much for reposting the videos
I’m not religious at all, but I love Gospel music ever since my three sisters and I say it with our mom.
Only discovered Tennessee Ernie recently through his song milk em in the morning blues which was featured on a merle travis album consisting of radio recording s from 1940's. Beyond being a good singer, he just has this fun and infectious joy coming from him and he seemed to have a good heart too, really inspirational! Just a shame I was born a year after his passing, would have loved to be around in his prime years.
Thank you for sharing these videos, they are still golden!
Sir, I have never read in the Holy Bible of JESUS CHRIST called the lily of the valley, a poisonous plant. JESUS CHRIST in the Holy Bible is referred to ad the Rose of Sharon Israel, our Savior, only begotten Son of GOD. Thank you Sir. I love Tennessee Ernie Fords show I watched his show when I was young.
Thank you, God for global flood to save humanity from breeding out from the Nephilim, so Jesus who did come out of a pure human blood through Mary, who was pure human mother, so we can be saved through Jesus.
