My Michigan husband tries North Carolina foods

- I had all my favorite foods from North Carolina flown out to the west coast so my Michigan-born husband could try them. On the menu: cinnamon buns from Sunrise Biscuit Kitchen in Chapel Hill, NC, eastern style pork bbq sandwich with hushpuppies (we both dislike coleslaw so I left that off), Cheerwine, and Krispy Kreme donuts (these are obviously available nationwide so I was able to get them locally!) I was able to get most things off of Goldbelly.

I’m from KC and we also take our bbq VERY seriously; the sauce is tomato-sauce-based. We have the annual American Royal Barbecue Competition. It’s the BIGGEST bbq competition in the WORLD.

Native North Carolinian here... get yourself some tomato based (Western NC) BBQ sauce for that sandwich and try that again. :-) Saw others that mentioned Sun Drop. That's the nectar of the Gods, and it's also from NC. Have one on my table right now.

I'm from southwest Virginia and I love cheerwine. I can't find it where I'm from so I have to travel an hour to Tennessee to get it. And no I don't make a special trip to get it just when we make a trip there I will get some. LoL

If there's any way you could try the donuts& bagels from Breeze In in Juneau, Alaska, you should definitely do this because Breeze In has *the best* donuts, ever, period, that is all, don't even consider fighting me on this, I am Alaskan and I will harpoon you if you try to disagree with me
