Ravigneaux Planetary Gearset with Shifting

The Ravigneau planetary gearset is a specialized double planetary gearset primarily used in automatic transmissions. Depending on the selected gear, the large sun gear, small sun gear, or planet carrier is connected to the driving shaft via clutches. Alternatively, the large sun gear or planet carrier can be mechanically braked. This configuration allows for six gears: reverse, neutral, and four forward gears. In all cases, the ring gear handles the load.
This model allows for changes in the tooth geometry and number of teeth of all gear sets. Gear shifting is controlled by global parameters. By default, the gearset elements account for the inertia properties of the gear bodies.
