      Good luck Julie! When are your finals? I do have some mini courses on local anesthetic and periodontology if you wanted? I have mini courses for those who only need to study a few topics and not the entire thing. You can contact me though www.dentalelle.com

    So if just one tooth in the sextant scores greater than 4mm but the rest is less than 4mm the sextant still gets a score/code of a 4? How do you determine if full perio charting should be performed based on PSR?
    Thanks

      Yes exactly! Even if just one tooth. I personally don’t do PSR I do full perio charting at least every year

    So, what if a sextant has only two edentulous areas and not the whole sextant? How would you chart that on a PSR?

    • @dentalelle
      @dentalelle  3 роки тому

      Good question! Since you would have no numbers there, you would chart the rest and use those numbers

    Hey, If there's gingival recession or furcations in a sextant does that count as defective margins? Should it be coded as as code 2? As well as that when you do the PSR do you do start with one sextant and do both the lingual an buccal aspect before moving on to the next sextant?

      gingival recession of more than or equal to 3.5mm or furcation involvement is indicated with presence of "*" next to the score

    I never agreed with a code 3 for pockets 3.5-5.5; many adults have 4mm pockets around posterior teeth with no perio, code 3 doesn't make sense to me;
