What a difference a little paint makes, nice---
Thank you
Yes, very nice! My neck hurts just watching you paint.
Oh boy! 😔
It looks AMAZING..... Great job. I wouldn't be able to look at it unpainted until it got T&G either. Priced paint today for the interior of the farm house.....who knew paint had gotten so pricey??? $200+ per 5 gallons.
Yep I paid $232 per 5 gallons with a discount 😔. You don't won't to know how many gallons I've bought thus far 😢
You think that's expensive, I just bought 2 gallons of Polyfiber Aerothane paint at $269 per gallon.
Ok, that's aircraft paint, but paint is not coming down in price. Good luck with your painting project.
Wow! White trim really pops! Looking better all the time!
Thank you
I think the warmer lights suit the outdoor porch better than the tennis court / baseball stadium style bright cold white
Great job!
Thank you
The white trim looks great.
Thank you
Andrew, it looks awesome the white really sets it off you should be proud of your work.
Thank you
Looks gorgeous! If/when you do the wood ceiling it'll look great, but this is a perfect alternative. It really makes the house look 100%
We might not do the ceiling after all. 🤔
@@TKCL yep put the money towards the pool
You've done a wonderful job on the porch roof, you have done an outstanding job on your home it is Beautiful
Thank you very much
Wow! It looks amazing and I can hardly wait to see it all completed.
Thank you
Beautiful.. you did a great job on your home ❤️
Thank you
That’s looking very nice!
Thank you
The second (corrected paint) grey on the house and porch ceiling with the white trim is standout gorgeous! You have done a very nice job on your house. Love it. 💕💕💕
Thank you very much
Wow that looks absolutely great thanks for the video today
Thank you for watching
In the south we always paint any porch ceiling sky blue to keep the wasp off. Looks beautiful.
I've heard and seen that a lot. Not my color preference.
I like the paint on the roof it looks nice It will do till you get tung and grove put up.
That looks great Andrew
Thank you
Awesome job Andrew!!
Thank you
Andrew house looks great painted and trim adds the special touch. I don’t miss the FL humidity and bugs.🙏
The humidity 😢😢
It's looking so sharp Andrew! Awesome job. Too hot, been in the pool.
I can't wait for a pool!
@@TKCL I can't wait for the pool series videos! lol
Well its been 2 and a half years since the start of this mess, i now have covid for the first time. I hope yall dont have to go through it. Stay healthy my friends.
Sorry to hear that! Heal quickly!
Andrew you have done a beautiful job building your home. The job that you have done will no doubt start to repay you immediately with all of the extra work that you put into sealing it and insulating it. Well done sir.
Thank you very much
Good morning guys from Siesta Key Florida.
What a difference the ceiling paint made, looks bigger than it all ready is.
We like the softer light better than the white light .
Good morning and thanks for watching!
Wow! That sure brightened up the porch area!
Nice job!! Loving the "sounds" of the insects (in the background!!)...so vital to our existence lol; bear? what bear? hahahaha
Amazing what a little paint will do. Peace
WOW - the house looks great !
WoW!! It looks Great. At night time it really looks Awesome. Great job!
Thank you!
The rest of the house looks amazing painted. I am really happy for you guys.
Thank you
Phenomenal!!!!!! It looks sooooo good!
Thank you very much
How bright and clean looking. Looking forward to the outdoor kitchen build.
Thank you
Looks great 👍
All these comments are about paint. I was more worried about the trusses and the overspray. The house is definitely coming along pretty good Andrew. You made a mention about the lights and that you can change the color of them. What do you mean by that? I can see that they are different brightnesses of white and a soft white. Now can you show a video about how that's done or what the process is?
Ps. Your poor back must be kind of hurting from looking up for those couple of hours. You're absolutely right trying to move trusses/8ft ladder to paint a roof that large, just would be insane!
Painting the trusses now due to over spray, that was part of the plan. There is a simple switch on the led lights that change the color of them (Kelvin) from 3000k to 5000k.
Its looking real good. In the long run all your hard work will be worth it.
Thank you
A nice sky blue with some white splotches for clouds would have looked nice with some Minnie lights as stars.
man that is bright i think i would need sun glasses out there! really did make a big difference!👍
That's why everything is on dimmers
Beautiful 😍
Looking so great! That lift has been a big help for you.
It's been a live saver!
Wow looks fantastic!👍💞
Thank you
Hi Andrew the underhang looks great painted, really protects and cleans it up for now. See you on your next video. 🇨🇦
Thank you
It really looks beautiful Andrew
Thank you
Wow! Beautiful!

It looks absolutely amazing!!!!! Love it!!
Thank you very much
Hello Andrew 🌞 It's so nice to actually see the exterior design that is in your head.😊😊 You are bringing a beautiful home to life. God Bless.
Thank you for the kind words! God bless!
It looks great!!! Tfs stay safe and God Bless:)
God bless!
The house is looking great!
I can’t wait for the outdoor kitchen!
Thank you, I'm excited about that too!
The warm lights looked it bit better
We might try them that color
The other colour looks a little clinical the warm white seems match the house better, looks great by the way nice progress.
Looks amazing great job
Thank you
As always, love the videos. I have really enjoyed the entire house build. I can't wait until you get into the crafty side I know you have. With that 3d printer, and new wood tools I'm excited to see what's to come. Jeep up the great job.
Those videos start soon! I'm excited myself!
Looks beautiful. (Almost) worth the trouble of prep.
Ugh, prep!!!
Looks good brother!
Thank you
It got brighter out on the porch
I think so too
Our Carpenter bees drilled through painted treated wood fence posts😅
The lights look brighter now w the ceiling painted.
Great! 😔
I was thinking painting the top white. Ever sit out on the porch at night listening to the Whiperwill. Love the sound. Reminds me of Hank Williams Sr song.
White worried me for bugs and mildew. Love listening to the whiperwill.
@@TKCL me to Whiperwills rule
Might I ask you a question , we seldom catch fish when we go. Would you pay $400 to rights to fish in a pond for a year , supposedly we'll stocked?
Probably not unless it was large and I absolutely knew it would provide plenty of fun and food.
Well, Andrew, i almost didn't recognize you at first with all that hair, LOL. I hope the paint does the protective work!
Lol I've cut it off! Got way too hot
The porch came out really good! I know you haven’t decided yet about painting the posts but I was wondering if you would consider painting them black to match the trusses? Sometimes touching up the trim is as time consuming as painting the whole house again. You did a great job!
I'm still undecided about the posts.
Like the LED lights, what brand are they and where can I get them?
Here you go! www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0748CSGD6?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
@@TKCL thank you
Great job painting Andrew. Check it off your list
Thank you
Hi, Andrew! Your hair must be smothering you. I am like you. I hate hair too. The paint looks sooooo good.
I just cut it all off!
Looking great, love the high kelvin LED's but its cool they make switchable ones. Posted on pt 1, but what was the underestimate on paint required to do that roof? Probably took more to paint that than the rest of the house including interior! Still cheaper than lumber, MIL wanted big planter boxes, $2500 in cedar! She's going to get a stool and weekly chiropractic for half that.
It was about 16 gallons of paint just for the ceiling, and yes that's more than the entire outside of the house needed.
Beautiful...simply gorgeous. I can't tell from the videos, but are there cables/wire stapled to the edge of the 2x6's that will be in the way when you install the tongue n groove boards on the ceiling?
Yes, but there is already holes drilled to pull the wire out of the conduit and run in the wood.
Every time you do something like that on the man lift. I can only imagine doing that on scaffolding. What a nightmare. Thank God for the man lift.
Are you going to paint the main poles or are you going to keep it natural
That lift is a life saver! Not sure about the poles yet.
Good job, hated that yellow
Me too! 🤢
I think it looks pretty awesome. I would’ve gotten a cheaper darker paint to mix with it for a little more contrast but either way it looks pretty awesome.
Carpenter bees are a menace. For whatever reason my mom has decided that the ones nesting in her back porch shouldn’t be killed. I would’ve already gotten rid of them. I’m probably just gonna wood putty their holes and paint heavily over it and put something inside the holes because I’m sure the larvae are already there. :/
They are about to die here!
@@TKCL Yeah I think they only buzz around for about three months out of the year. I’m already seeing dead ones on the ground now so hopefully it won’t be too long.
Porch looks great all finished. House looks beautiful all finished. Actually, your whole property is amazing. It must feel good to come home.
Have you considered a half porch post wrap? Not only would it help protect the post from weather/sun, I think it would add a little extra something to the porch. Paint wrap same white as trim and leave top half of post wood. Or maybe paint top half of post the house color. Or vice versa. Something to consider, in between dodging killer wasps, LOL.
Speaking of not having extra time on your hands, are you going to do a time lapse of the build? What I'm seeing lately is time lapse builds are getting lots and lots of views.
I most likely will work on a time lapse build. It will take a tremendous amount of editing and time. The posts I'm undecided on for now.
IMHO, I think you should have done a clear coat on the plywood ceiling instead of paint. BUT, it still looks good. Great work, as always!
Naaa, that plywood looked bad with the permanent mildew stains.
I would adjust the other lights to the warmer lights like the other two
(3k light warmer light and less bugs) and are they on a dimmer ?
Yes all outside lights are on a dimmer
I finally exterminated my carpenter bee and ground bee problem using the carpenter bee traps from Best Bee Brothers, the clear sticky traps made for biting horse flies (ground bees) and WD 40 lithium spray into their holes and Seven dust and spray onto the surfaces of my firewood. Mid May in Ohio and the wee beasties are long gone....for now...
I'm starting on them soon!
wow, I'm sitting here watching paint dry!!
You sure are!
Your ceiling looks real nice painted. Did you have any issues with overspray getting on the concrete floor. Also have you had any birds building nest in the steel trusses. If you do put up T&G pine in the future how would you address Florida high moisture issues in the ceiling. We have a winter home in Fort Myers and moisture forms every morning on the underside ceiling of our lanai.
Over spray was on the concrete, but from that far up it must dry before it hits. I could easily sweep and blow it off. No issues with birds.
We had a horrible carpenter bee problem on our back deck. It was stained heavily with a covering stain and that didn't stop the bees at all. We even put on 5 coats and they still came around and tried to bore new holes. Ultimately, we ended up putting out traps for them and putting out poison, especially near their holes and in the dormant holes. Now, 3 years later we have put colored putty in all the old holes and stained them over and see a few carpenter bees around now and the traps keep them from the house and back deck. Update if painting actually works. I am a bit skeptical.
I'm skeptical too, that's why I am working on traps now!
I was hoping you would paint the ceiling black to contrast with the grey.
I wasn't sold the dark idea. We do see it often at restaurants.
Wish our carpenter bees cared about paint. They pretty much destroyed my white mailbox post even when I patched and painted every year. Last year they started to attack my painted porch poles 😥
I've got some carpenter bee videos coming 🐝😉
👍👍👍👍👍👍❤️
Paint looks great! Did you stay in the camper while painting because the doors were sealed? I might have missed this but are you doing a POP of color on the doors? 🙂
No I had one door where I could still enter. We will do black trim on the doors. Everything else white.
The house looks wonderful! I love the gray with the white trim. Just wondering, are you gonna paint the posts or leave them natural ? Also, are you gonna put storm doors on the doors leading out to the porch?
No storm doors. I am still thinking about the posts, undecided.
Quick question for you mr Andrew. Are you going to paint the 6x6 posts or leave them as is? Just curious
Still thinking about it
How did you avoid getting pain on the trusses?
I didn't, they have gray paint on them. I am repainting the trusses now (I already planned on doing that regardless)
Is the light on the fan still out? I’ve been looking at getting that fan for my living room and bedroom. But was holding off because you seemed to have issues with them.
No that's been replaced, the company sent me a new one.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Looking good. Are you planning to paint all the pole barn posts ?
Still thinking about that
@@TKCL I used to have a lot of faith in pressure treated lumber, but ever since our 6 year old deck railings and fence posts , turned to rotted crumbles , I’ve kinda lost that loving feeling. Lol
I understand that! That's why I buy CCA treated burial lumber directly from the mills and not big box stores.
Humm looking nice. But is that paint not water based? It should not stick to the metal might just got to clean up....
Not sure, it definitely sticks!
@@TKCL it's just water paint will not stick and if you paint over that. Well might be a future problem. I would try some good off or a degreaser cleaner first.
Wow. Look at all that dark hair.
🤔
@@TKCL you need a hair 💇♂️.. keep up the good work man
Who built your trusses for you?
Backwoods buildings in Chipley Florida
If you're having trouble with carpenter bees already, won't they just eat up your T&G unless you paint it as well? And if you're painting it anyway, why use something fancy when you could just get some kind of paneling and paint that?
The tongue and groove will be heavily poly coated. Hope they don't like that.
@@TKCL Might work, better look into it first to be sure, that'd be a hell of a waste if that doesn't stop 'em.
If it's gonna be a while, you could even do a test, buy a piece and apply a couple different coats and let it sit out till you're ready to install, see what coating keeps the boring bugs away best.
Kind of like getting a manicure and pedicure
No.... Not at all! 🙄
Wood bees aren't bothered by paint at all, you'll have to find something else I'm afraid!!! I painted my deck, and they weren't deterred at all!!!!
That sucks!
you missed a spot one of the 2x6 over the front door area
🤷🤷 I'll have to go look for it.
@@TKCL did you find the spot i was talking about yet?
it would be really funny if i told you i was just messing with you wouldn't it?😆
I've been all over that area painting trim and trusses. Didn't see it, so I figured you were playing around.
If it makes you feel any better, I didn't go back and look because I didn't believe you 🤣
@@TKCL I was but seriously when I watch the video there was a spot but, you went over it later lmao😆
so how much were you cussing me and looking?
I'm sorry but i just couldn't resist 😆
we still friends?👌
