Finally someone to say how much yarn is needed as a new crocheter I never know if I will have enough so I put off making blankets because the only way I have found is to make Granny squares and I hate joining them so this is awesome Ty 🤗
This is disappointing because it doesn’t show me how to do the Afghan in the pictures…with the spiked look. Your teaching is great and you have a lovely voice. I went and gathered my yarn and started this project…only to find it wasn’t what I was seeing on the picture. Please tell me how I get that pattern on picture…thanks.
Hi Robert, to get the visual effect of the blankets shown in the thumbnail, look in the description of the video I put the brand and colors of the yarn used and the order I did them in. Then useing the stitch shown in the tutorial along with that information you will get the that same look, hope that helped!
The pictures of the completed projects are the "Granny Spiked My Ripple Stitch" whereas the tutorial is the "Granny Ripple Stitch". Very similar but with one stitch difference.
@Toni Harrison yes, I worked two rows for each color and three rows of the darkest color. If you look in the description box below I put the brand and colors of yarn that I used and how many rows for each so if you follow the pattern and use materials i said in the description you should get the same as the cover photo. Lmk if that helps
@@PrettyCraftD hi denise the stitch in the tutorial is the same stitch I used to make the blankets in the thumbnail. The color changes give it a different effect, i put the materials and colors i used and the order of colors in the description of the video, hope this helped!
Idk why people think the thumbnail is a different stitch lol.. Love this stitch. It makes a surprisingly thick fabric. Really should work myself up a blanket with it one day :]

Spikes start in row 3. Your thumbnail pic kinda looks like it has Spikes, but i cant see it for sure. Did you do a drop dc st from a cluster in that pic?

I clicked on the spike Afghan…did three rows of this pattern only to find out the picture does not show what it says. Very annoying. Could you help me? Thanks
The video tutorial shows the stitch that I used for the blankets shown in the thumbnail. But to get the visual effect of those blankets you must look in the description Box and Follow the color scheme that I used for the blankets. All of that information is in the drop down description Box
Hi, thanks for taking the time to reply.. I’m still having problems because in the picture there aren’t those big holes…it seems to be more tightly crocheted in the picture. It sure is beautiful…I’m going to try it again, but I don’t know how to make it look like the picture. Thanks for all your caring. I appreciate it. I’ll let you know happens.
Beautiful tutorial 🙏❤️🙌 May I just seek some clarification if possible? I love to start and end all my double crochet blankets with Sc in my foundation chain or as a final row, just to give it added stability and make my life easier when I do a border. Because this is a ×18+6 pattern I'm assuming the +6 is for the first dc and the space required for the turn. If I wanted to do start this pattern after a row of Sc I'd just need ×18 right? And since I only ch2 for my dc, for my 1st row of this pattern I'd only ch4 right? Many thanks in advance and God bless 🙏
How did you finish the blanket? Did you add a border? I have so many ends to weave in and I'm wondering if it would be better to add a border. Gorgeous pattern by the way. Love it and sooooo easy to work up.
I think the issue is if the picture being displayed for your thumbnail isnt your work, you should still make sure it is displaying the right stitch. The blankets in the thumbnail are a different stitch than what you are doing. I would suggest next time to use a picture of your finished work for the thumbnail. Just a suggestion or food for thought. ❤ 😊 otherwise you did a good job with the video and instructions.
Hi, sorry you are having trouble with this, try making sure your chain count is correct, also I have seen this stitch worked with multiples of 25 plus 4 at the end as well, although I did not use that multiple when I've done it, let me know how it goes plz!
The stitch in the tutorial is the exact stitch I used to make both blankets I guess the combo of colors I used makes it look different I have listed all materials used to make both blankets in the description.
@@crochetbitznknits2066 there's no way that that's true. The pictures definitely show a stitch of the new color going between the 2 dc (not 3 like your video shows) stitches from the previous color. It's ridiculous that you feel the need to lie about it.
Hi Jackie, a written pattern can be found here: rescuedpawdesigns.com/granny-ripple-crochet-pattern/ keep in mind that is the pattern only and does not include the color scheme used in the finished afghans shown in the thumbnail of my video. i used this pattern for those afghans but i chose the colors seperate from this written pattern. Let me know if you have any other questions and I hope this helped!
Hi Marie, in the video I am doing a sample swatch for demonstration of the stitch. In the drop down info for the video I have a detailed description on the number of chains, yarn colors and order of them for the specific blanket in the thumbnail. Hope this helped!
You don’t tell us what to do at the end of row 2 and the turn going into row 3. Do I do another cluster of 3 and then chain 5 and then do another cluster of 3 into that chain I just made? I think this would have the effect of making a giant triangle and not end up with a rectangle. Also, there is no way that the thumbnail was made using this stitch, the spikes in the afghans in the thumbnails are not going to happen with this stitch, it just makes no sense at all. You had a good start to this tutorial, but failing to provide more of the rows and to show what it actually creates means that it only ends up with a frustrating mess for anyone who tries to follow this.
I see what you're saying, I just kept following along the lines of what this video showed and noticed my end were going more towards a triangle lol, I thought I was doing something wrong 😅 undid my work 2x before I realized it wasn't necessarily me lost in translation lol Overall tho, It was slow, clear to understand, instructions...just needed more I think 🤗

I tried multiples of 18 (270 to be exact) and it didn’t come out right at the end of the row. Shouldn’t it actually be multiples of 36?
Hi, did you remember to add 6? So multiple of 18 plus 6. Once your at your desired chain length with your multiple of 18 the 6 must be added last.
Is there a written pattern
Why is there not a written tutorial to go along with the video???
As this pattern works, does the bottom straighten out? This is my first time doing this pattern.
