Really well done video Jez. Not everyone's is a millionaire, so this (particularly in the COVD era) is very timely. Great visuals and commentary too. Didn't go overboard with the goss or wasted footage.
I've been twice to New Caledonia, my wife 4 times, our daughters 3 times. Usually in ten day trips. Absolutely love the place, could easily live there. This video shows it can explored on a reasonable budget. Great video a shame you couldn't make a longer film. 👍🏻👍🏿
Looks like New Caledonia is embedded in the family holiday roster. Yeah, that was all we had time to film but we'll be hoping to get back there again in the near future.
$1400 airfare from Sydney return + $1000 = $2500 for 5 days. Good to know! Loved seeing the various locations visited - those national parks! Stunning!!
New Caledonia have pacific franc (in common with French Polynesia and Wallis and Futuna), which itself was a subdivision of French franc. So the money has always the same exchange rate with Euro. 1000 XPF = 8.38€. They don’t belong to Eurozone because they have a different status than other French islands or territories like Réunion, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Guyane and few others. They are overseas collectivities (with local government) and not overseas territories.

Thanks heaps bro. I’ve been thinking about whether we could do this as a family winter escape, you’ve helped convince me we can.

Typical price is around $590 return from Sydney at the moment!
interesting that new caledonia uses franks, even tho they are french territory and france is euro currency country.

How much are return flights ?
For some reason, I'm *_never_* hungry in the morning - coffee only - so that'll save me a few bucks, too.
wait a minute, 5 days $1000...that sounds expensive.
That’s very cheap actually
Considering food, transport, accommodation etc
Yo, for real tho. 1stack?
Maybe theres some nightlife expense iam missing.
So, can we say
Cumfortably let's say
1500-1700 a person?
Sooo technically $2000 in 5 days with $700+ in car in first hour of arrival lol
Big mistake changing money at the airport. Otherwise excellent video
why
@@mete1099 change rates at the airport are in some countries not really the best.
Amezing
30 dollar for one humburger e 2 chips... 26 for one pizza... is cheap
