- Footage of when the Josie J cargo boat finally went down in front of West Bay beach in Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras. She now sits in deep water, at 168ft at the shallowest point. I read that in shipwrecks it's not uncommon for buoyant objects trapped in the sinking ship to shoot up to the surface with enough force to injure/kill survivors in the water, but I've never actually seen it on video before. This is the reason there's just a gaping hole where Titanic's forward grand staircase was, it broke apart and floated out of the overhead glass dome during the sinking, a theory which was proven during filming of James Cameron's Titanic in 1997 when the grand staircase set did exactly that when they flooded it.

Yeah planned sinkings are boring.
Why would you be getting enjoyment out of seeing people losing all their possessions & suffering, not to mention all that pollution being spilled into the ocean? This isn't for entertainment, dingleberry breath!
I am very sad for the sake of this poor ship, how many families were the reason for their livelihood and how many people she helped . I am a sailor and I love the sea and ships.

So I’m a local from the island where this sank. Everything is still there. Including the bus. It sits at about 200 ft.

The small van jumped off the dock to catch a lift but it landed so hard it caused a large crack in the very rusty boat causing it to be dumped at the bottom of the ocean !! Out of sight out of mind !!! Plus people can now pay to see how natural it looks under the watter !!!! Clever Humans.........
The bus and ship slipped under almost exactly the same time.

In this dive video you see the van crushed under the hull of the Josie J.
Dont know how that happened as the ship went down before the van which floated for a few seconds longer.

She looks to have been a poorly maintained vessel. A lick of paint on the hull would have shown willing.
Sinking ship videos remind us how small and fragile we are compared to the vastness and power of the oceans. Historians estimate that over 2.5 MILLION ships are at the bottoms of the Seven Seas. I think I'm Thalassaphobic, (terrified of deep water). -- I CANNOT watch the movie The Perfect Storm.
