Boy, I recognize that. I had a black lab. I've seen Labs rated 5 of 5 stars in pretty much every category except puppy, which is three. He was a bull-headed fella, but talk about a wonderful companion. This is depressing as hell in a way, though. I had a puppy, smart as hell but just too much. smart as hell, but hyper as hell. I finally took him back to the shelter. If I had seen these techniques, I imagine I'd still have him. I adopted a senior next. She's been my best bud for the last three years.
Honestly I feel like the breeders have a big role in that. They are not a lot of good breeders tbf. Mostly just overbred dogs and "working lines" to then sell them to families (and mostly they only do ring, that what they call "working"). They don't select good traits like stability and calm and don't care. And a lot of time they don't socialise them properly. So you end up with a pup in certain breeds (lab, malinois, australian sheperds, etc..) with bad genetic for starter. I don't judge you as the first pup we got we made this mistake because we didn't know much about this and got a dog at 3 months old that was attacking everybody (we had him for 5 days). Because we had him too late and he didn't see anything from the world (locked in a kennel 24/7 since he was born) he was TERRORISED by the noise, the cars, the city and it was way too much for him. It was really sad for us to see him so stressed by life and he was so attached to us but hated anybody else. We didn't feel we were experienced enough to deal with this as a first dog and felt we will be failing him hard. So we decided to bring him back and they found him a place to guard, when we discovered that we were the second family to take him in I was really mad because Im sure this behavior happened already and they didn't tell us. Pretty sure he will be an awesome guarding dog but he wasnt for us and the breeder knew it, we said we wanted a family dog to bring everywhere with us and he still sold us a puppy that wasnt socialised and had huge anxiety traits.
@@tagadakiI adopted a dog at the beginning of September. He's knocked me in the road, dropped me in a ditch and last week finally managed to drag me( like a cowboy film) along the road. He snarls and barks at everyone but me. The agency I adopted from are still trying to get me to keep him! He's going when someone will take him, but I can't take him out. Some of these do gooder rescue agencies need to wake up too.
@@ghengis430 Yeah, sometimes then even don't tell some problems. Also I feel with some difficult dogs, they should propose to help for couple of months with training to fix some behaviors. I have a friend who is veterinary, he is mad about rescue agencies because he sees the same dogs getting adopted again and again for 300 euros and still bite the kids or somebody else. He said it's just a business and they keep placing dangerous dogs in families without warning them, knowing they will bring it back. In France they even refuse to place some good dogs in appartments, because they say people won't go out. Which is ridiculous. We finally found our baby in a farm and we are in a small appartment. He has 1 hour on the morning, 30 min lunch walk and 1h on the evening. We go to the city, to the parc, he meets a lot of doggo friends, he sees a lot of people, has a lot of stimulation and he's happy. Most of the time after the morning he's just sleeping tired.
Its amazing i think how the pup actually loves the training more than being a nutter..yes food orientated but also something going on in the background..think thats in labs dna..thankyou
Top class ,well done, im working with a 2yr old wheaten x olde english bulldog, frigging nightmare to walk, loves everyone and every , dog ,my left arm is becoming longer than my right 😂😢,using your tips hopefully will work.thanks ,he's name is BUSTER and sometimes Bastard 😂
I've been trying this, and her loose lead walking is getting to be excellent where there are no distractions, but can't get within 30 m of another dog without lunging and barking, and not in a friendly way
My dog is reactive pulling barking growling and heckles up at other dogs I want our walks to be more enjoyable I pull her to a side as last thing I want is aggression to go into actually biting
How did it go! How’s the progress ? I have an 8month old Dane/ poodle and I’ve noticed a bit of frustration on the leash which I want to deal with asap
My dog (adopted from a shelter) has this same reactivity but to people and absolutely loses his shit if he can't meet every single person he sees even if they're a block away down the street or across a road. I don't know where to start with it, or fixing it because it seems like such a niche problem. Would this technique work with him?
omgosh. My dog does that. He is great off lead in group. but walking him, on lead and another dogs is near, he goes nuts. He has been getting better as he gets older, BUT this info would have been so much better in the start.
Ahhh#1dog needs more excercise poo and leash control .yes this tough age my pup is finally neutered and 2yrs and the last year of trying to train mastiff has resulted in knee injury of myself and other dog with no control RUFF PLAY! Additionally the thrill of dog fights has produced a bad history and constant goal there is a chance of trusting h8m.
Just copy what he's doing in the video? It's not that hard. Take a video of yourself so you can watch in 3rd person and improve on your mistakes. It's the easiest to train your own dog, since its YOUR dog.
Everytime i think walking my dog in germany includes way too much rain, i watch one of these videos and i feel like living in Africa. You guys need to teach your dogs how to swim properly soon D:
People need to do some research on working breeds, hunting, vs couch potato before buying. Also a well exersized pup is easier to train than one being cooped up all day in a crate.
Now it's gonna be even more frustrating to see people walk their dogs like the BEFORE, IRL. Knowing all it takes is some food and proper leash guidance for frustration based reactivity to end and give the dog a happy life... FFS
I drive past this training centre daily. And is the most professional facility I have ever seen. Have to say this lab seems to be less grief than my own. I have a nearly 3 year old chocolate Lab. I f#%!ed her up by not socialising her. My lab is extremely reactive. A real cow. It’s a shame that finding the correct dog trainer is a mine field. So many to consider, extremely costly. Especially if you get the wrong trainer. You have to be the top trainer in the UK.

Well some people do not have sterile environment 🤣 if one lives in an apartament IT is a lucky day if they don't meet the aggresive neighbour dog on the stairs/at the door. ..
poor dog need some leadership. How can you let it pull you for 4 minutes on a neck collar. She's getting visibly stressed 4:36 But i appreciate the content a lot. Almost nothing cut out.

Dont forget the most important thing. The leash + proper leash pressure + some food and verbal cue's.
Beautiful pup..all about the focus and reps i think..hope you agree..best wishes
What’s an example of learned helplessness?
Very helpful to see from the beginning ❤
Excellent video, and great display of calm and consistency
Really clear and different type of reactivity video loved it. Guys the link in description for the reactivity info isn't working?
Thanks for flagging this, it should be working now
Do you find it’s often dogs that have had too much mad play with pups/dogs from a young age, that display this type of reactivity?
Wish I could afford to have you help with my gsd/mali pup.❤Love your videos!

Awesome progress in just a day. I'm booked in for an assessment in two days time with my Great Dane. He's the same on a lead frustrated.

Just come across your channel; absolutely amazing and will be booking my pup in for training next year when I get him, keep up the good work 👏
Awesome! Thank you!

Your videos are really helpful! My dog is leash reactive so your information is great.
Well, the only tip one need with a reactive dog is, do not try to fix it with youtube videos and grab a trainer..
Hi! What kind of slip leashes do you use?
Excellent video! More! Please❤❤
Great video, can I ask, how long is a good amount of time train per session on something.
omgosh. My dog does that. He is great off lead in group. but walking him, on lead and another dogs is near, he goes nuts. He has been getting better as he gets older, BUT this info would have been so much better in the start.
Another belting video. Brilliant work.👏🏼👏🏼
People who don't do there homework just ruin everything.

Reactivity made worse by discomfort! yikes I need to train myself again ! And yes I can give do this?
How do I get YOU to train with my pup? He’s a rescue that has had 6 trainers (nothing has helped) and still a red hot mess!

Her build looks similar to my boy, she's possibly from a working line

This is extreme reactivity. Maybe 5 on a scale of 10.
how is 5 on a scale of 1 to 10, extreme? I would say 5 is mild on a scale of 1 to 10. . . ?
❤
Great training if Carlsberg did dog training this would be the place…
Well some people do not have sterile environment 🤣 if one lives in an apartament IT is a lucky day if they don't meet the aggresive neighbour dog on the stairs/at the door. ..
Lovely lab by the way. Just lovely.
Can you lower the barking volume in post next time..?
😮😮😮😮😮

Great information but the swearing is unnecessary, cant watch your channel because i have children in the house.
It's not content to watch with your children anyway...
