The only thing I know for sure is that I like this very different woman, I love this very different but instantly captivating singer, I love the simple yet so volcanic and magnetic way in which Floor simply captivates the audience! I enjoy the way she is dressed on stage! There are so many boring singers with their so many boring performances. Not Floor Jansen! I can expect the most unexpected from her, but always stylish and beautiful! And her voice is a real multifaceted magic: it caresses, hugs, tears... and always with so much love!

Ich war am 12. In Hamburg zum Konzert. Es war einfach der HAMMER, so viel Kraft, Power, powerfrau, einfach nur toll, das muss man mal live gesehen haben! Vielen Dank für die schönen Stunden, gerne immer wieder!
This was a great documentary! I have a lot of respect for Floor, as an artist and as a woman. I appreciate that she openly shares her strengths and struggles, which helps normalize those experiences for regular people. I appreciate that she's not afraid to be herself - she makes silly faces, shows herself doing mundane, yet fulfilling, everyday tasks, and shares makeup-free selfies. I also appreciate that she takes credit when it is due her, without being a braggart, yet is also quick to point out the talent she is surrounded with. She has worked hard and deserves to be proud of the resulting success. She's a good role model for girls everywhere.
At 33, I've never been to a concert, never had a favorite band, never felt the need to enjoy music beyond the speakers. It all changes next year and I feel like I'll be too teary to see anything or that I might faint. Wish me luck!
Nightwish is amazing live and Floor is just incredible. I didn't think I can love her more than I already do but after seeing her with Nightwish live for the 1st time last month I think I do. What an incredible human she is!

Sie war sagenhaft in die Niederländische Musikzendung mit das wahnsinnig gutes Duet Phantom of the opera. Ich bin auch Hochsensitiv und wenn ich sie singen hör mit diesem Lied bekomme ich tränen in die Augen. Entschuldige mein nicht sehr gutes Deutsch. Ich komme auch aus die Niederlande. 😄

Floor würde in einer Liga mit Celine Dion und Withney Houston singen. Allerdings kann sie was genannte Personen nicht können, nämlich die andere Seite des Spektrums. Sie kann Rock. Sie kann sich die Seele aus dem Leib growlen. Sie kann alles singen was sie möchte bis zur Perfektion und das ohne Hilfsmittel aus dem Studio. Das macht sie vielseitig und somit besser als alle anderen. Deshalb spielt sie in ihrer ganz eigenen Liga. Sie ist die beste Sängerin unserer Zeit. Und sie ist Mensch geblieben. Auch wenn wir sie zurecht als Göttin bezeichnen, was ihr schon unangenehm ist.

Floor we are very similar you and me. One thing is unfortunately different. Your Family understands that there are very sensitive people out there, mine never did and gave me the feeling of an alien. Floor is just the GOAT. Yes, Tarja founded the band and created their most iconic tracks along with Empuu and Toumas, but Floor is the greatest frontwoman in metal in... forever. God I love this woman.

I feel a little compassion for Floor having to move 4 times by the time she was 15. I'd feel more if I myself hadn't moved 9 times in 13 years as a kid. But I do understand how difficult that can be. I guess I never realized what an emotional woman she has been her entire life. That shit can manifest in many ways and one wouldn't be surprised if there was anger and depression. But every time I hear just talk about anything, she just feels accessible and normal. The perfect balance. 2020 comes along, and the UA-cam algorithm presents a trending duet from Beste' Zangers covering Phantom of the Opera. The singers kill it, with the female just plain emotive and powerful. Here name, Floor Jansen. Lets try out her cover of Shallow. Pick me up off the floor and I'm a fan for life. And I fall down her rabbit hole. She introduces me to Nightwish, but because I'm not a metalhead they'd have never crossed my path. And while I recognize the genius of the band, I would not call myself part of the Army. Oh, I have two favorite songs, GLS and Ever Dream, but only the specific performances at Wacken (the former probably the best live video captured I've ever seen) and I listen to them several times a week, especially reaction videos. But I'm 100% tuned in to her solo career. Can hardly wait for her album to drop and have loved the three singles she's released from it. You'll find me shunning the word "best" when talking about my favorite artists. If there was some way to empirically measuring "best", I wouldn't be surprised if Floor was near, or at the top of that list, but ya can't. Art is subjective to the senses of the recipient. But I can say that she is a Master of Her Instrument and I admire her use of it immensely There are only a handful of artists I've come across in the past dozen years that have made my playlist, some of whom have stuck around and others I haven't listen too in years. And there aren't but five you'll find in my search que and history log that repeatedly show up. Interestingly except the one group included in those five (Home Free) each one is representative of a teen, 20's, 30s, and 40s in age. Each have that quality of master of her instrument that Floor defines so well. Hope damn lucky am I?
I think moving around as a kid is a very, very different experience depending on your parents' social life and connections to the community. For example, if you have the sort of archetypical American "nuclear family", where the father works and the mother stays home, and she has the time to join the PTA and volunteer for your girl scout troop, and they host dinner parties for other parents they meet, moving around is probably not much more than an inconvenience. But for a different example, if your parents are divorced, and you live with your mentally ill father, who is paranoid and doesn't meet anyone, and you wear clothes from the discount store and have no idea about fashion, it can be a terrifying and deeply scarring experience to leave behind your only one or two friends. Obviously I chose two extreme examples (though the second one is autobiographical), and the vast majority of experiences will be in between; but I hope they illustrate my point, that a lot of the impact of moving is out of the child's hands, and is dependent on their parents.

Good docummentary, but I feel like they underestimated Floor's carrer in order to enhance drama and emotions. After Forever was HUGE, Floor Jansen was already HUGE when she joined Nightwish and they made it seem like they were small metal bands playing in front of 500 people. Kinda disrespectful imo.

To be honest, the whole Wacken 2013 gig is legendary. Every song Nightwish performed there is basically the best performance of that song ever.
I simply adore this woman. So down to earth, but absolutely a star commanding thousands on stage.

It teaches us all to never give up, even in the darkest of moments of our lives. I have heard her sing in After Forever, ReVamp, Northward and Nightwish... All incredible.

Floor we are very similar you and me. One thing is unfortunately different. Your Family understands that there are very sensitive people out there, mine never did and gave me the feeling of an alien. Someone who does not belong in this world. It is very hard to grow up like that. We fought our battles, you are further than I am, well I am glad you are.

I can only say that she's a beautiful soul. We all know Nightwish and the tv programs she has done but less know is her work with Ayreon ( Arjen Lucassen ). Pls look it up, you will love it. She is incredibly talented and incredibly beautiful!
I feel a little compassion for Floor having to move 4 times by the time she was 15. I'd feel more if I myself hadn't moved 9 times in 13 years as a kid. But I do understand how difficult that can be. I guess I never realized what an emotional woman she has been her entire life. That shit can manifest in many ways and one wouldn't be surprised if there was anger and depression. But every time I hear just talk about anything, she just feels accessible and normal. The perfect balance.
2020 comes along, and the UA-cam algorithm presents a trending duet from Beste' Zangers covering Phantom of the Opera. The singers kill it, with the female just plain emotive and powerful. Here name, Floor Jansen. Lets try out her cover of Shallow. Pick me up off the floor and I'm a fan for life. And I fall down her rabbit hole. She introduces me to Nightwish, but because I'm not a metalhead they'd have never crossed my path. And while I recognize the genius of the band, I would not call myself part of the Army. Oh, I have two favorite songs, GLS and Ever Dream, but only the specific performances at Wacken (the former probably the best live video captured I've ever seen) and I listen to them several times a week, especially reaction videos. But I'm 100% tuned in to her solo career. Can hardly wait for her album to drop and have loved the three singles she's released from it.
You'll find me shunning the word "best" when talking about my favorite artists. If there was some way to empirically measuring "best", I wouldn't be surprised if Floor was near, or at the top of that list, but ya can't. Art is subjective to the senses of the recipient. But I can say that she is a Master of Her Instrument and I admire her use of it immensely There are only a handful of artists I've come across in the past dozen years that have made my playlist, some of whom have stuck around and others I haven't listen too in years. And there aren't but five you'll find in my search que and history log that repeatedly show up. Interestingly except the one group included in those five (Home Free) each one is representative of a teen, 20's, 30s, and 40s in age. Each have that quality of master of her instrument that Floor defines so well. Hope damn lucky am I?
I think moving around as a kid is a very, very different experience depending on your parents' social life and connections to the community. For example, if you have the sort of archetypical American "nuclear family", where the father works and the mother stays home, and she has the time to join the PTA and volunteer for your girl scout troop, and they host dinner parties for other parents they meet, moving around is probably not much more than an inconvenience. But for a different example, if your parents are divorced, and you live with your mentally ill father, who is paranoid and doesn't meet anyone, and you wear clothes from the discount store and have no idea about fashion, it can be a terrifying and deeply scarring experience to leave behind your only one or two friends. Obviously I chose two extreme examples (though the second one is autobiographical), and the vast majority of experiences will be in between; but I hope they illustrate my point, that a lot of the impact of moving is out of the child's hands, and is dependent on their parents.

Good docummentary, but I feel like they underestimated Floor's carrer in order to enhance drama and emotions. After Forever was HUGE, Floor Jansen was already HUGE when she joined Nightwish and they made it seem like they were small metal bands playing in front of 500 people. Kinda disrespectful imo.
