You have to take maps into consideration here. No maps in the game will need the rifles long range unless you’re a sniper in test zone. With a low walk speed while reloading it makes it very inconvenient in most maps. This is a reason why the Carbine is actually good. It has a fast reload and a shove ability, which just makes it convenient.
9:31 pike is really underated it actually is a better version of the bayonet it has longer range than the bayonet it has piercing unlike the bayonet and it has a faster attack rate whats also good about the pike is because of its range you wont get grabbed alot by zombies or runners and you can even kill zaopers without them attacking you while the bayonet may have a special effect on charge which makes it deal 500 damage the pike has a similar effect but only increases its damage to 5× (250) and while theres the slowed down movement you can unequip the pike when it is not necessary making you move at the same speed
Pike always destroys me in pvp, I have to face someone with 660+ hours constantly hitting, unequipping, hitting, unequipping the pike basically giving it no cooldown
Bit late here but they're still Line Infantry, the name just depends on their sector (Infantry has the Private, Navy has the Marine, Cavalry has the Trooper)
I gotta say, the musket is basically a very good weapon to have, you can kill zombies from a distance, you have a bayonet. And during charges, you can kill zombies instantly. So I’d say the musket is the best choice.
@@Seby864 also map preferences. Musket is good for open long maps to shoot barrel and sappers, preventing a lot less headache. But in closed spaces, barrels and sappers arw unpredictable and lethal sometimes, crowd control at these maps is a good option by using the blunderbuss or the rifle.
@@S.C.P-049 Try Carbine, Horseshoe, and especially the Lancer with HS, those pretty much outclass Musket even with the HS, the only time the Musket is any better is if you're Kevviz or New_Henry Trioing maps but even then most of their attempts fail because they missed one or two bayonet headshots and a runner comes along to troll them.
Dpm might be a better way to measure damage as you can simply divide the dpm by the health of a cannibal to find the amount you can kill. For example 720(dpm of musket) / 30 (base health of a shambler) tells me that i can kill 24 cannibals per minute
I'm a musket primary for the private. First of it's so balanced. It can be good or bad but the only thing I like about it is the bayonet. It is so useful during charges and out of charge too.
To be honest for my line infantry, I use the carbine and the heavy saber for the speed, the carbine for the speed of the reloading and the heavy saber To be a bayonet and for the ability to easily headshot, and he zombie. But that’s just how I Play line infantry all about the speed.

i only watched this vid because i enjoy gnbp content, but to throw my hat into the ring as someone who mains privateer/infantry my personal two favorite weapons are the pike and the musket, charge sync allows for those weapons to be really fun if you have an officer supporting your team, enough to where the unga bunga high dmg and pen of other weapons dont matter to me as in im an unga bunga lol
Carbine is more if you want to survive, you have more mobility but less strengh, so you can run from the shamblers and get into an safer place, like a house, you can shove the runners, and you outwalk zapper's and bomber's while reloading, making that you can easily escape hard situations, good for surviving like if you're the last of your team in like san sebastian at the end on the beach, you can prob survive that, same for some endings like leipzig
Ultimately it’s a matter of opinion and liking, but I appreciate this video. I also have to say, I rather you test how many you can kill per shot in an actual game, rather than telling the theoretically maximum kill per shot.

Im a pro, and i prioritise Carbine since its most useful agaisnt bombers in early end campaign because of 6 second reloading you can easily eliminate bombers its Alternate version of DB if You're thinking about charging enemies then buy Heavy sword

I'm curious if you can somehow shove super runners.

In my opinion the musket is the best, and the rifle is overrated. The sad thing is most rifle users don't admit it sucks, and don't stop using it. The musket does range, damage, and penetration COMPLETELY FINE. The rifle is kind of overkill like a fully loaded nock gun. The nock is a lot better compared to the rifle. (Edit: You`ll never even need the range on the rifle as the musket does it anywhere the rifle can completely fine minus the one point on Copen which is barely even useful.)
The pike feels like a meme weapon to be used for the lols but with viability somehow Like its terrible but you can still work with it and its amazing in niche situations _somehow_ It's more to be used as a defensive weapon that needs you to move less due to the speed debuff... Its amazing on La haye and La ferme (and sometimes in Houg, Tyro, and some parts of san, and the end part in kaub) but for the most part it kinda sucks

Hi! Great video, fun watch as always. However there’s some stuff you neglected, and points i don’t agree with from that. When talking about guns, you neglected to mention that all guns have a 900x HS modifier. (Except with zappers of course) this kind of makes the “DPS” section make less sense for the guns themselves, since the musket’s gonna do 108k damage anyways. In addition, DPS for line infantry guns also isn’t really reasonable given the utility of line infantry guns usually is not to kill hordes (although the musket does a decent job at it). Another headshot related thing was the pike’s headshot modifier (2.3x) and its impact on the gameplay. 115 damage ain’t nothing! bayonet also has a 2.3x HS modifier, granting the user 127 damage headshots. Pike also has the 3x charge damage multiplier bayonet has (neither have 500%, for some reason it used to say it increased “tenfold” but ig its 300%). One more thing: if you’re reloading the HAP, just one barrel, you can cut off the reload at 5.4 seconds and have a loaded gun. (4.6 with a fife!) this makes the HAP by far the best bomb shooting weapon in the game! Aside from these small inaccuracies, I appreciate how thoughtful this video was, it’s nice to see in the g&b community.
just my opinion but heres a list of combos the genrally work good for line inf: musket+hand axe carbine+heavy sabre Rifle+sabre lance+hand axe any weapon+sabre musket+delicious leg(jk do not use delicious leg unless u want to get votekicked from server) also remember to carry water bucket in the tertiary slot, you may take grenades only if you are exclusively frontlining, if u are planning to snipe then dont bother with the grenades

you shouldn’t take about dps you should talk about reload speed. Because carbine can much more effectively target bombers than anything else (Like the pike you put at first place)

I personally think that every weapon in the game are balanced and good on a mechanical level, as in their stats. You may hate Rifle or Pike, but it's not the stats that make them bad, it's the lack of use for their stats or conception. This video should be called "Statistically the best primary for a private" Basically you're saying the Rifle is the best because it can do the most damage and can shoot the farthest. It's assuming the optimal conditions 100% of the time. You don't even account for reload time, which is a major factor. You're basically comparing a drag car to rally cars. Sure, the rifle can do the most damage and shoot the farthest, but this isn't some lab where zombies line up for you, it's De Kommer! Actual best weapons (tested in the field): 1. Air Rifle: 20 shots, next to no reload time (if you even need to reload), and good range. 2. HAP: 2 shots is better, relatively fast reload. 3. Musket: Good DPS and penetration, ok reload, bayonet. 4. Pike: Situationally great for holding choke points and endless maps. Bad: Carbine: Reload is outclassed by HAP and Air Rifle. Rifle: Outclassed by literally everything reload speed wise, can't use in tight spaces.
To be fair, all of the line infantries primaries are all balanced. There really isn't a bad one, cough cough pike.. (Hoped you enjoyed it)

also remember to carry water bucket in the tertiary slot, you may take grenades only if you are exclusively frontlining, if u are planning to snipe then dont bother with the grenades

@engineergaming8272 yeah true but b&i has appropriate scaling for such a loadout, in g&b for the rifle, u gotta use either sabre or heavy sabe as u never gonna get that close to the zombies
personally I'd use musket + sabre or rifle + sabre/heavy sabre(if I want charge, but heavy sabres trashness isn't worth the charge) for copenhagen
@@catfacecat. yeah the heavy sabre has a lil trashy charge but its thrusts are perfect of anti sapper and anti runner attacks and if u know how to flick its a decent crowd controller
@ojasbaghel8535 yea, but its not as good as sabre. its ok for being a ours dps, but hand and exists. it's also not good for range because it's hitbox is ass.
you shouldn’t take about dps you should talk about reload speed. Because carbine can much more effectively target bombers than anything else (Like the pike you put at first place)

bro just hating on the carbine, i've been in alot of impossible to survive situations and with Carbines fast reload and shove i was able to get out of large hordes/impossible situations in one piece
You forgot the rifles ability to ignore the zappers damage resistance to bullets

I personally think that every weapon in the game are balanced and good on a mechanical level, as in their stats.
You may hate Rifle or Pike, but it's not the stats that make them bad, it's the lack of use for their stats or conception.
I know this opinion sucks, but if you have a different opinion or an argument, you are welcome to reply with it :p
No problem, the video was biased in some way. (from an unbiased view, all weapons are good at what they do and promote different playstyles) And most of them do their job well. (psst... pike is still dookie, just kiddin)

Basically you're saying the Rifle is the best because it can do the most damage and can shoot the farthest. It's assuming the optimal conditions 100% of the time. You don't even account for reload time, which is a major factor. You're basically comparing a drag car to rally cars. Sure, the rifle can do the most damage and shoot the farthest, but this isn't some lab where zombies line up for you, it's De Kommer!
Actual best weapons (tested in the field):
1. Air Rifle: 20 shots, next to no reload time (if you even need to reload), and good range.
2. HAP: 2 shots is better, relatively fast reload.
3. Musket: Good DPS and penetration, ok reload, bayonet.
4. Pike: Situationally great for holding choke points and endless maps.
Bad:
Carbine: Reload is outclassed by HAP and Air Rifle.
Rifle: Outclassed by literally everything reload speed wise, can't use in tight spaces.
