In my MS300 Mr. Steam, The autoflush requires a MIN of 2 hours before 24vac is cut allowing the spring to open the valve. My unit waited 3.5 hours before opening. 24vac is applied to keep the valve closed, stopping water from draining. If the heating element fails, it will send debris into the drain line blocking the valve and the copper tubing after the drain. The water fill device is also 24vac. The wiring schematic does not indicate the voltage. To test the autoflush, I attached a 24vac power supply from an old modem.

Is Autoflush the same as Blow Down?
