Love, love, love Skeeter. Love watching him run through the woods. Great video Cierra, loved seeing Kyle playing with Skeeter, he knows he’s loved and that’s good to see
Cierra, you,Kyle and skitter make a lovely family. Glad to hear your plans for the future includes children. You have a mother’s heart and Kyle so loving and kind. Wishing you the best in what life has to offer. 🙏💕
We've made sourdough bread for years. Sourdough is VERY forgiving and our ancestors have been making it for generations without any of the 'brand specific' products. Just find something that looks like what you can't find and go with it. I use canning jars to keep and feed my starter, regular bread tins for sandwich loaf, and a cookie sheet for artisan loaf. A cotton dish towel and a round bottom bowl will do fine to proof the final rise. You will really enjoy this great bread!
You guys always have some great looking eats, I’m surprised Kyle isn’t 50lbs heavier lol. I agree water is the biggest concern off grid, we opted to drill a well and glad we did, it will free up a lot of time for you especially when you have a couple little ones running around.
A tip for you, if you take the seeds from your peppers and dry them out, put them in a bag and label them to grow for next season. Now you don’t have to pay for pepper seeds. You can also do this with melons, cucumbers, etc.
I have been following you since you finally started a channel girl! I love your content, and I truly appreciate the fact that you don't always make everything seem "easy". Love your content hun, and I hope your seeds give you great food!
I'll tell you, I love watching you guys. Skeeter cracks me up. You have come a long way. What a great job you are doing. You guys have a great attitude about life and that is rare in this world. I know you will make good parents to your kids. Thanks for the video. Take care and live each day like it's your last. See ya. GOD Bless.
Kyle you should watch Jay & Jen homestead and Raspberry Rock to see how they made their latter to loft pull up to ceiling as so it is not in way of bottom floor when not needed, so you can do the same, just a thought for you.
Lettuce, radishes, spinach, carrots, green onions always seed directly outside. Cabbage, brussel sprouts, kohlrabi outside too, should do well in your long cool season. Not worth double transplantation. All herbs, basil, cilantro, parsley, etc., direct sow outside. Long grow plants: tomatoes, and bell peppers start inside * only 6 weeks before safe to plant outside. * It is worth the shock of transplanting to gain exposure to highest midsummer sun. Usually cukes, squash, etc., outside but if you seeded in the transplant container you can start inside ahead of time -- they don't like being transplanted (no double transplantation). Potatoes, outside. Buy store potatoes 6 weeks before safe to plant outside, leave near window so they develop growth eyes, then cut up, one eye per piece, let pieces dry a day or two before outdoor planting, prevents rot. If you don't have direct sunlight next to a window, plants grow weak and spindly. That's why grow lights. You can mail order asparagus, horseradish, rhubarb roots, etc. for permanent outdoor planting. I repeat again, if you don't fence in your garden all efforts will be a waste of time. A woodchuck can mow down an entire garden overnight.
I get so much joy and entertainment from you guy's videos. It's like waiting all week for your best friends to show up. How have you become such an excellent cook at such a young age? Skeeter rules. I love how Kyle reads him a story.
Kyle is 100% right about those dogs. Like Skeeter ours (we have Skeeters twin) will disappear for a half hour and always comes back. They are amazing dogs.
I love watching your channel and content. I started by watching Kyle's channel and went back and watched all his videos. Now I watch all of yours too. It's awesome to see it from both of your perspectives. Can't wait for Skeeters channel. I'll be watching all three channel forever. Ya'll are an amazing couple and will enjoy seeing you grow. Thanks for all the effort Ya'll put in!!!
Skeeter was so funny jumping up when you said get the birds! You can tell how much he loves running around in the woods and exploring! He is living his best life. ❤️❤️🙏🏼
Some advice for watering your seed starting trays: Pour the water into the bottom tray and let they pods soak up the water bottom to top rather than pouring the water directly on top of the pods
I wondered when you got a right drive vehicle until I saw the printing on the sourdough book was backwards😂 Skeeter was so cute all sleeping, Kyle reading aloud….this is my kind of reality tv. Thanks for sharing. Also, idk if you want to do this, because it might attract critters, but from the time I end my garden until the time I start, I do lazy compost-throwing all my fruit and veggie parings and eggshells into the garden, then just till it up before planting.
Just love both of yours videos. I really look forward to watching how you do everything. Wish I had done it when I was young. I love hunting, fishing and gardening. So living a life like you do wouldn't have been to much of a stretch for me.
I enjoyed this so much I'm watching it again. That's a really unique way of toasting bread. You always prepare nice healthy breakfast. I love the vintage jars. My dog cries like that haha! I always please stop crying. Enjoyed the Q & A. Please stay safe and remain blessed. ❤🙏
Your grocery prices are about double what ours are here in southern Missouri. But they are continuing to rise. My advice to you and Kyle would be to stock up on dry goods. Coffee, tea, flour, sugar, oatmeal, rice, instant potatoes, dry milk or canned, etc. Things seem to be heading to another great depression. But I'm only 81. What do I know.
LOL, Skeeter gets his breakfast and snarfs the bacon first. Nothing worse then eating the eggs first and then being full before you can finish the bacon. LOL
Thank you for sharing your daily life in this video I do love watching Skeeter and both of you with him walking playing etc Great garden you are going to have this year Thanks for the Q and A in this video Very interesting Take care and see you all in next video
The love nest is shaping up nicely Cierra. I made your Sheppard Pie except with Italian Sausage/Ground Beef mix and added a can of sweet corn, outstanding! Best regards to Kyle and Skeeter also!
I had a doe last year that broke her leg from just below the knee down, and it ended up healing that way because she wasn't swinging it she was walking on it. But she couldn't run, I don't think she lasted to long unfortunately... that's another reason I snowshoe everyday to pack the trails a bit more so they have less of a chance of breaking a limb.. I know it's not 1000 percent gonna work, but it helps a bit!
My face hurts from smiling seeing you guys play with skeeter! I have 2 springers and I know the game lol. I love both your channels! Cheers from Detroit Lakes!
I love vintage Ball mason jars. I actually have a few of my great grandmothers...they sit in my kitchen window so I can think of her every day! I've also made a lamp out of one of the larger jars..it turned out great! And I'm definitely trying the tuna and cottage cheese because they are both my faves and I've never thought of combining them! LOL Thanks for the Q&A it was awesome to learn even more about you both!
Well skeeter get a lot of attention from Kyle and he loves it. Your seeds are growing well and have you decided what size garden you are planning to have? Will it be a raised bed? That was a nice hike you you made and skeeter sure likes the outdoors. The recipe for the stew was great. Looking forward to your next video.(Judy NB)🇨🇦🌲
That casserole sure looked good Cierra. I know ur on solar but if you got some low wattage grow lights perhaps on a shelf they wouldn’t stretch towards the light the way they are. Throw a tiny fan on each level or pointed at the shelf and it will strengthen the stalks too. Can’t wait to see ur garden
I love to watch you prepare meals. I need to get some bacon now. Skeeter is just the best dog ever. Enjoy the walks that you 3 take. An awesome video. Thanks for giving me some company. 5-1-2022: Where are you? It's been awhile.
Great vlog cierra. When you got asked if you and Kyle had ever encountered bear/wolf etc on a trail,I think, I know something much more scarier and bigger out there you both could run into, BROCK LESNER, hahaha 😆, he's lives in or around your area doesn't he?.
Have you watched "Simple Living Alaska"? They do a lot of canning and most of the produce that they grow will last all year. They always have a great cooking segment in every episode.
I’m sure you’re asked a lot about marriage and kids. I’ve asked before lol. It’s just because you guys are so great together. You have everyone rooting for you. I think you’re right that the most difficult part is the mental aspect. I sold my house so I can live in a travel trailer full time, which I take delivery on tomorrow. The mental aspect has been the most difficult for me. Even though I know it’s going to be great and all work out, it’s still one of the most nerve wracking and scariest things I’ve ever done. Always appreciate you guys sharing your lives and wish you the best.
awesome video i saved my red onion skins and made tea and it was potent it just kod me. or you can save the onion skins ends frozen to make stock :) expensive onion
Also as my final tip of advice (although I’m completely ignorant on gardening up north, I’m from South Carolina) but i would imagine you may have started your peppers a little early for your grow zone
We put the coffee grounds in first , then pour the hot water in , WE DO NOT MIX THE GROUNDS AND AND WATER, Then put the press on top of the grounds for about 3 to 4 minutes then push the press down. Its all good , but we find mixing the grounds , the coffee doesn't taste as good. Thats just us.
hi good morning kyle is all ways doing something around the land mind you if it needs doing it needs doingwow home made bread is lovely i have a bread machine it does it for me but nothing better than the smell of freah bread

okay! thank you!! i couldn’t find what the book had said so i had to just get creative
I'm a sourdough baker too. You're right, sourdough is quite forgiving and can be tweaked to work with a particular schedule.
