- Here are some clips taken from the ordination Mass of Fr. Charles Ndubuisi Ike, FSSP. He is the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter's first priest to be ordained from their mission in Nigeria.
This was also the first Ordination Mass done in the traditional, Tridentine Rite, in all of Africa since the second Vatican Council.
Bishop Emeritus Ochiagha presided, he being the bishop who first brought the Latin Mass back to his diocese of Orlu.
The ordination was performed in the FSSP's church, completed only the day before, which explains the "rustic" appearance.
9 seminarians from Our Lady of Guadalupe seminary for the FSSP traveled to the small town/village of Umuaka in Imo state, in the diocese of Orlu, to help prepare for, and put on the ordination.
Everything worked out wonderfully! It was a total success with over 2000 people in attendance, crowding in, and all around the church.

Absolutely beautiful. Africa will reevangilize the west. God Bless the FSSP and the Holy Church in Nigeria!
I would prefer to see this Type of priests in my parish at meeting with missionaries
I'm Nigerian base in Australia. Happy to see the traditional Latin Mass in Nigeria.
Universal, the same everywhere.
If Africa can be flourished with such unexplainable beauty throughout the her Continent
Beautiful god bless them god bless Africa in Christ name 🙏🏽
IAM so happy,I promise to support the TLM in umuaka I God bless me.

Thank you for sharing this.
Absolutely beautiful
Beautiful
Will it be up to Africa to evangelize the West?
We've got our own stuff we're yet to deal with. When we're done here, then maybe we can
The TLM isn't the norm in most parishes in the country. How do we evangelize the West when we're yet to evangelize ourselves and have a widespread celebration of the Traditional Latin Mass?
Who would give thumbs down to this?
Dio sia benedetto e vi benedica
AMEN
Such a beautiful community, from the reverence for the Bishop to the singing to the open building, full of natural light. Sim Deus cum nos, quis contra nos?
Truth in practice goes beyond mortal trivialities such as race. The mass is exactly the same around the world. Local language is of little importance, as the mass will always be in Latin!
Amen to that!
Wonderful
Does anyone know what hymn they’re singing at the end? All I can make out is “Ave Ave Ave Maria. Ave Ave Maria” which isn’t much to go on on Google and Catholic Marian hymns.
Actually I never heard about that chant....
It's a native Marian Hymn in IGBO Language (one of the major languages in Nigeria). It probably won't pop up on google or youtube. It's really a beautiful hymn/chant that praises Mother Mary. Also, the Parish here I believe is NNE ENYEMAKA EBEBE Parish....Nne Enyemaka Ebebe is Igbo Language meaning Mother of Perpetual Help.
Yes the hymn in English hymn book is, immaculate Mary our souls on fire ave ave ave mari.,.,,., that title so wondrous fill all our desire ave ave ave maria.......
There are more traditional priests in Africa
Please is it not possible to post the full documentary
Africans normally have more joyful worship, than this joyless Mass...
Sons of Archbishop Lefebre in Africa
Actually, sons of St. Peter
The congregation seems so disengaged. Almost as if they do not understand the language....lol!
Please leave your yelling little kids at HOME
Kids are kids, let them enjoy their innocence. You can’t always control them. A parish without the sounds of kids “shouting” or babies crying occasionally is a dead parish because there is no future generation to carry the faith on.
How arrogant. The Children of the Catholic Church is the Future of the Catholic Church and it is up to us to teach them why and how we properly worship God. While little children yelling can be found as annoying, we need to remember that Christ said “Let the children come to me!”
